Onigiri-Character-Image-01

CyberStep – a Japanese video game developer and publisher, most famous for titles like “GetAmped”, “CosmicBreak” and “C21 Steel Battle Chronicles” – has today announced that the closed beta test of their upcoming action/adventure/MMORPG title “Onigiri” is scheduled to begin on the 5th of June.

CyberStep have said that, in the lead up to the opening of the game servers, they will be releasing the download client a day ahead on the 4th of June to allow everyone participating in the beta event to have is quick an access to the game as possible though, obviously, this is all subject to change. Thankfully, CyberStep is a company that keeps on its toes and will surely alert the public to any changes if/when they come about.

Onigiri is an exciting and action-packed MMORPG where you take on the role of one of the legendary Oni, roused from your peaceful and isolated life. You must set out, with 8 NPCs, each with their own personality and abilities, and restore peace to the troubled lands. Set against a mythical backdrop of a magical and strange Japan, only you have the power to change fate, saving all from the deadly miasma and vile Kamigui!

Call on your powers and skills with a wide variety of weapons, switching as needed for the monsters at hand. Charge your powers within yourself, and then unleash devastating skills that leave none standing! Travel on your own, or with a Party of brave and skilled friends as you meet the challenge of fate head on! – CyberStep Official Synopsis

Each and every beta tester will be awarded special boosts and bonuses once the full game is released, this is done as a “thank you” from CyberStep for putting your time and efforts into testing the game and aiding to make it whole. Once again; “Onigiri’s” closed beta will begin on the 5th of June with the download client being made available on the 4th and will be getting a full release on the PC sometime this summer.

New The Order: 1886 Gameplay Captured from Twitch Stream

The-Order-1886-Screen-01

Outside of a pre-rendered reveal, and a cutscene-heavy trailer, we’ve seen little gameplay from Ready at Dawn and Sony Santa Monica’s PlayStation 4 exclusive The Order: 1886, at least officially. Today, however, the official PlayStation Twitch channel hosted a gameplay stream of the anticipated title, scheduled for release at the end of the year.

The footage – of which there is approximately 3 minutes worth –  is a little choppy and the quality is lacking, but it’s one of our few looks at the game since its announcement and does provide some new insight on the gameplay. Check it out embedded below, and make sure to watch it in 720/1080p, otherwise it’s barely worthwhile. If an army got their hands on real-life thermite rifles, their enemies would surely be smoked… literally.

Get Yourself a Fancy Pattern Vivillon in Pokemon X and Y

pokemon-x-y-fancy-vivillon-screenshot-01

Since Pokemon X and Y hit the store shelves last October, over 90 million Pocket Monsters have been traded worldwide. That is more than 4 time the population of Australia in the tiny, yet lovable monsters. With the impressive 100 million mark rapidly approaching, Nintendo and The Pokemon Company have announced that a special “Fancy Pattern” Vivillon will be available for players in-game.

For those who aren’t in the know, Vivillon is a pattern who’s wing-pattern changes depending on which real-world region it was caught (making it the ultimate collection for the OCD trainer to complete). This new Fancy Pattern Vivillon cannot be caught in-game and is only available through the special event distribution that will become available once the 100 million milestone has been reached.

We will let you know when you can get your Fancy Vivillon (who I believe should be wearing some kind of top hat) so make sure you stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Pokemon news as it becomes available.

Witness the Art & Emotion of Valiant Hearts: The Great War

Valiant-Hearts-Screen-07

Ubisoft have released the first entry in a series of Developer Diaries for Valiant Hearts: The Great War.

Episode 1: Art & Emotion is presented by Art Director Paul Tumelaire and gives an inside look at the development of the game’s visual style within the UbiArt Framework, also touching upon the emotional crux and inspiration for the story. Having played the game recently, the connection between these multiple characters from different backgrounds, and the stories behind their fights for survival, redemption and love in the midst of WWI is truly powerful. Check out the video embedded below.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War will be available as a digital download for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3 and PC on June 25.

New Space Run Screenshots Highlight Ship Building

space-run-screenshot-005

PASSTECH Games and Focus Home Interactive released a new batch of screenshots for the upcoming indie game Space Run. The game is a mix between tower defense and ship construction. The title stars Buck Mann, a space runner who transports valuable cargo that is particularly attractive to pirates and fellow space runners.

The new screenshots highlight the game’s ship building mechanics. Players will start with an empty ship and will need to continually add modules to their ship during missions to contend with ever changing enemies. There are 18 modules with two skills each that will shoot enemies, protect the precious cargo, and provide energy for the ship.

Space Run will be released for Linux, Mac, and Windows via Steam in Q2 2014. Learn more at the official Space Run website.

The Xbox One is starting to feel a little like Adobe Reader with all of the updates it is getting. Next month’s upcoming update will bring two highly requested features – support for external storage devices, and real names for identifying your friends a little easier. In addition, new Smart Glass features are being implemented. These will allow you to use your Smart Glass device as a universal remote control, to log-into your account and to access the OneGuide. These updates will begin rolling out in June, so make sure your console is set to automatically download updates so you have them as soon as they are live.
