Yakuza 5 Coming to the West

Sega has announced that, in conjunction with Sony of America, Yakuza 5 will finally be coming to Western countries in 2015 for the PlayStation 3 on the PlayStation Network. Additionally, it was announced that Yakuza 4 and Yakuza: Dead Souls are now available on the PlayStation Network.

Yakuza 5 continues the stories of Kazuma Kiryu, Shun Akiyama, and Taiga Saejima from Yakuza 4, as well as some new protagonists. The game has five different cities, utilizing a new graphics engine. These cities are Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, and Tokyo.

Additionally, the battle system has been modified, and Sega reports that there will be even more mini-games than prior games in the series. The hostess bar system has also been updated with further customization & interactions. Also brought up was the introduction of in-depth side stories for each protagonist, titled “Another Drama.”

Dying Light story revealed in latest trailer

Today Techland and Warner Bros. have released a new trailer for their upcoming game Dying Light which is set to be released in North America on January 27th and in Europe on January 30th.

The trailer happens to focus on the game’s story where players take on the role of Kyle Crane, a character voiced by Roger Craig Smith. Kyle Crane is an undercover operative sent to infiltrate the quarantine zone that has become filled with zombies after an epidemic sweeps through the city. Here he must deal with warring factions and sheer chaos all while trying to survive.

Fifteen minutes of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End gameplay released

Today to kick off their “PlayStation Experience” Sony and Naughty Dog revealed fifteen minutes of live demo footage of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End. This footage, which can be viewed below, contains completely live gameplay.

This is the first time gameplay for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been shown off and with the game set to be released sometime in 2015, Naughty Dog describes the story as follows:

Several years after his last adventure, retired fortune hunter, Nathan Drake, is forced back into the world of thieves. With the stakes much more personal, Drake embarks on a globe-trotting journey in pursuit of a historical conspiracy behind a fabled pirate treasure. His greatest adventure will test his physical limits, his resolve, and ultimately what he’s willing to sacrifice to save the ones he loves.

First English trailer released for Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea

Koei Tecmo has released their first English trailer for Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea. Well to call it an entirely English trailer would be a bit false, since all of the gameplay footage is from the Japanese version of the game but the trailer does feature an English voice over that gives us a preview of what certain characters will sound like once Atelier Shallie: Alchemists of the Dusk Sea is released in North America on March 10th and in Europe on March 13th.

The Banner Saga 2 announced with teaser trailer

Those of you who are waiting to see what will happen next in The Banner Saga trilogy will be happy to hear that today during The Game Awards in Las Vegas Stoic Stuidos revealed that they are working on The Banner Saga 2. Unfortunately outside of this announcement, we know little about the actual title other than what has been hinted at in the teaser trailer that you can check out below.

The original game was a strategy RPG and was released not only for the PC but eventually came to the iOS, Android, and PlayStation 4 platforms so it will be interesting to see if this icy Nordic focused game will follow the same path.

New Bloodborne trailer released for The Game Awards

bloodborne-box-artDuring the The Game Awards in Las Vegas today Sony Computer Entertainment revealed a new trailer for Bloodborne, a title that many are hailing as the spiritual successor of the original Dark Souls.

This trailer shows off a brand new area in the game that results in a face off against a mysterious and dangerous hunter named Gascoigne. The trailer also shows off the new multiplayer interactive features that have been added into From Software’s latest title.

Currently Bloodborne is set to be released in North America on March 24th and on March 25th in Europe. As for the box art to the right, that is the recently revealed box art that will be used once Bloodborne hits store shelves.

Tacoma announced by Gone Home developer for 2016 release

Fullbright Company, the studio behind Gone Home, the PC game that many people call not a game, revealed a new title that will probably be debated as well at The Game Awards in Las Vegas. The title is called Tacoma and at the moment, the only thing that has been revealed about the game is the name and that it will be released on unknown platforms in 2016.

The only thing we do know is that the title apparently takes place on the Moon as the tagline for the game is currently “What mysteries await you, 200,000 miles from Earth?” Anyways, you can check out the teaser trailer for the title below.

Mario Maker’s latest trailer reveals new themes

During The Game Awards in Las Vegas Nintendo revealed a new trailer for Mario Maker, a title where players will be able to create and customize their very own Mario levels to enjoy on their own or absolutely punish their friends with. In this new trailer a number of new themes for the game were revealed.

Previously only New Super Mario Bros. U and Super Mario Bros. could be worked with but now Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World are joining the mix. You can check the trailer out below and as for the game itself, Mario Maker is currently set to be released on the Wii U sometime in 2015.

Adr1ft revealed for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC

Among the many larger titles focused on at The Game Awards in Las Vegas, a certain title from Three One Zero and 505 Games seemed a little out of place due to its slower nature, but considering it is telling the story of an astronaut in trouble, it makes sense.

The title is called Adr1ft and you can check out the premiere trailer below where an astronaut wakes up floating above Earth seeing destruction all around her. Currently Adr1ft is set to be released in summer 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC where it will support the Oculus Rift.

Release date announced for Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.

Today Nintendo revealed at The Game Awards in Las Vegas that they are planning on releasing Code Name S.T.E.A.M. for the 3DS in North America on March 13th. The title was announced earlier this year and is a turn-based strategy game featuring a steam punk aesthetic.

Featuring an alternate history that includes numerous iconic figures from American literature and even Abraham Lincoln, Code Name S.T.E.A.M. is being developed by Intelligent Systems, the team behind games like Advance Wars and Fire Emblem.

To go along with the announcement, plus the reveal that Code Name S.T.E.A.M. will feature local and online multiplayer, a new trailer for the game was released and you can check that out below.
