To go along with this release date announcement, the company released a new batch of English screenshots that show off the newly revealed “Sim Noire” mode, a new feature that can be accessed from the game’s main hub. Love Live! School Idol Project’s second run now available from NIS America

Love Live! School Idol Project became such a huge hit for NIS America that they could barely keep any in-stock when they originally released the first season back in September 2014. In fact, unlike other releases that have simply gone out of print and been released later in standard form, NIS America has responded to this high level of demand by releasing a second run of Love Live! School Idol Project 1st Season Premium Editions which are now available for purchase from their online store for $51.99.

That being said, at the time of this writing their website is currently listing the release as out of stock but currently Rightstuf still has copies in-stock for the price of $58.449. You can check out our review of Love Live! School Idol Project Season 1’s first run here.

The Eccentric Family Premium Edition now available in North America

We have some good news for anime fans that have been waiting for NIS America’s release of The Eccentric Family. In case you haven’t pre-ordered the title, the Premium Edition release is now available for purchase through NIS America’s online store for $51.99 as well as at various other online retailers.

The Eccentric Family Premium Edition makes use of the company’s more compact collectable packaging that still contains a sixty four page full color art book as well as the entire thirteen episode series on two Blu-ray discs.

NIS America has provided a description of The Eccentric Family below:

In modern day Kyoto, humans live in the city, tengus take to the sky, and tanukis roam the earth. One such tanuki is Yasaburo, the third son of Soichiro Shimogamo, famed tanuki leader who met his end far too early at the hands of a group of humans and their year-end banquet hot pot. Yasaburo has since embraced his “fool’s blood” and strives for a happy, carefree life. But between taking care of his old tengu master Akadama-sensei, avoiding the life-threatening advances of the beautiful human Benten, dealing with his dangerously stupid twin cousins, and avoiding becoming a hot pot himself in the next year-end banquet, the young tanuki has his proverbial work cut out for him!

Roccat Announces Ryos Phobo Keyboard and Kave XTD 5.1 Analog at CES 2015

Roccat brought some new toys to CES 2015 this year.

The Roccat Phobo concept keyboard has seen a major re-design. The original Roccat Phobo design featured a keyboard with a tray replacing the number pad of the keyboard. The tray was designed to hold a smartphone running a special Roccat app that would keep gamers in the loop about their computer information and serve as a touch pad to trigger macros and access computer functionality. The new Roccat Ryos Phobo has dropped the smart phone tray in favour of a smart phone stand that can be placed where ever the user desires. The number pad still faces the axe with the Roccat Ryos Phobo, as the keyboard itself uses the compact tenkeyless design.

The Roccat Ryos Phobo will be joined by the Roccat Ryos MK FX and the Roccat Ryos TKL FX as the new additions to Roccat’s line of mechanical keyboard. The Phobo will launch in Q3 2015, while it is unknown when the two RGB LED toting FX keyboards will launch.

Roccat also brought along their previously announced Roccat Nyth gaming mouse to the show. The modular mouse features a thumb panel that allows users to move key caps and panel parts where ever they want to compliment the video game they are playing. The panel is designed to accept both the parts Roccat has bundled with the Nyth and parts printed on any old 3d printer. Roccat is hosting a library 3d printer plans for Nyth key caps and parts.

The Roccat Nyth will be released in Q2 2015. No word on the MSRP.

Finally an analog Kave XTD 5.1 will be launched in Q1 2015 for those who still swear that an analog surround sound headphone is superior to virtual surround sound headphones. Each ear cup features four 40mm speakers and adjustable bass vibration. The headset manages to be 25% lighter than previous Kave XTD designs and features effective noise cancelling technology.

Create Your Own Tale with Elegy for a Dead World

It’s not often that we see video games coupled with the themes and ideas of classic romantic literature, but indie developers Dejobaan Games were able to pull it off beautifully with Elegy for a Dead World.

The game is a side-scrolling platform PC game with amazingly simple game play; you explore three distant planets and dead civilizations that are representative of the works of classic British poets Percy Bysshe, John Keats and Lord Byron. The game is centered around the storytelling more than anything else, but what makes this game different from others is that you have to write the story yourself. The objective of the games is to narrate your journey as you travel through beautiful landscapes. With little on-screen text as a guide you write out a tale, a history of places long gone, that you can share with other players.

The games idea of free imagination and that everyone has their own interpretation of the world is what pushes this game out of the genre of entertainment and in to the realm of interactive art. The short interactive stories and sweeping backgrounds brings to mind the stunning and moving game Journey, created by thatgamecompany for the PlayStation 3.

Elegy for a Dead World is already available on Steam, and for those who talents don’t lie in writing, do not be discouraged. This game is encouraging, creative and fun. Early on ‘fill in the blanks’ prompts and challenges helps get the ball rolling and the next time you know you’re writing a grand romantic adventure or about the time Spongebob and you went to get burgers.

Take Your First Look at Marvel’s Ant-Man

ant-man-header-01

We are exactly one week into 2015 and Marvel is already hitting the ground running. Not only did the brand new Agent Carter series premiere in the United States today (and I will have my thoughts about that posted later), and Avengers: Age of Ultron is only a couple of weeks away, but the dream factory have also given us our first human-sized look at their upcoming film Ant-Man, (set for release on July 17th) with a trailer and brand new poster to wet our whistles with.

For those of you who aren’t up to speed, Ant-Man stars Paul Rudd as Scott Lang, a thief who wants to do right by his kids. Hank Pym (played by Michael Douglas) gives Lang the Ant-Man suit and with it the power to shrink down to the size of a (you guessed it) Ant. Check out the first teaser trailer for the film for a better understanding of what I’m jabbering on about:

As if that wasn’t enough to get your pants shrinking, Marvel have also given us a clever new poster for the film which you can check out below. While still definitely an action movie, Ant-Man looks to look like a little bit of a change of pace for the studio who just can’t lose, with a serious, maybe less high-octane tone to the proceedings?

What do you think though, will Ant-Man be a deeper, more introverted movie or is the trailer just taking us for an ant-sized ride? Let us know in the comments below and make sure you stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Marvel news as it becomes available.

Nintendo Offering Limited Edition for The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D

legend-of-zelda-majoras-mask-01

Sometimes, Nintendo comes in and shocks us a bit. Today, Nintendo of America announced that The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask 3D will be getting a collector’s edition on the 3DS, exclusive to GameStop, Amazon, and Frys. This Limited Edition set will receive a statue of Skull Kid, and simply looks excellent for the low $49.99 price tag.

The problem this Legend of Zelda set has is that at this moment, it is sold out at all three retailers (due mostly to the resale market). Its quite a bummer to see that this will receive such a low print, but there is always a chance of a restock (unless it becomes Amiibo rare, then goodbye Skull Kid). Keep an eye out folks, as this little collectible seems to be a big ticket item for 2015.

The Crew Patch Fixes Challenges and More

the-crew-car-customization

The Crew has been known to have a number of issues and bugs that unfortunately weigh down the open world racer. However, Ubisoft and Ivory Tower are studying forums and fan feedback to try and eliminate many of these issues and some of these have been addressed in the latest January 7th patch which should be made available sometime today.

Unfortunately this patch still doesn’t address some blaring issues such as AI, PvP wait times and stats being completely messed up, but the dev team promises those issues are still being worked on and hope to have them fixed by the end of the month. Full patch notes are available below with the biggest fix being to challenges which will finally be available a month on from launch. For our full review of The Crew, head here.

Freeride:

  • The Nav-Ribbon behavior has been improved in free ride (position and appearance).

Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires to have Pre-Order bonus DLC

Dynasty-Warriors-8-Pomo-screenshot-01

Tecmo Koei has announced that Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires will have a number of exclusive pre-order DLC’s available for the game. While the announced pre-order DLC applies to Europe, the same content will likely be made available worldwide, albeit purchased from different stores.

While the DLC appears to be primarily cosmetic alternate costumes it’s still frustrating to see companies locking out content depending on whom you buy their game from.

The pre-order bonus DLC available for the PlayStation®4 system and Xbox One versions include the following: Edit Armour Set 1 (for male characters), which will be available for those who pre-order through GAME and Edit Armour Set 2 (for female characters), available to those who pre-order via ShopTo.net or the PlayStation Network. A third DLC, the Special Costume Set (Date Mashamune, Guan Yinping, Guo Jia and Tenko costumes) will be available via Independent retailers through CentreSoft.

Tecmo Koei also announced an updated release date for Europe of February 27, 2015. The North American release date is February 24, 2015, which is delayed from the original announcement. Additionally, the Steam release date comes a few days later, February 27, 2015. The opening trailer was also released for the title, and can be viewed below.

While the Dynasty Warriors rarely changed the formula, this is the first title to be released on next gen consoles, and should fill a gap for fans of the action series.
