Quantum Break Development Complete, Goes Gold

Quantum-Break-screenshot-010

It appears that the time-bending Quantum Break will be able to nail its latest release date. Developer Remedy Entertainment’s co-founder Sam Lake announced through Twitter with a rather large bottle of champagne that Quantum Break has gone gold, meaning that it is all set for its upcoming release for the Xbox One and PC on April 5th.

Those who want to take advantage of a deal where they will be able to obtain a free version of the game for PC by pre-ordering the Xbox One version of the game will still be able to do so through participating retailers. As for the game itself, Quantum Break will follow the story of Jack Joyce as he fights in an unstable world where time is stuttering back and forth in order to prevent the end of time itself.

Children Of Zodiarcs breaks Collective Kickstarter record

Children Of Zodiarcs breaks Collective Kickstarter record

Montreal-developed tactics JRPG surpasses Tokyo Dark’s total

Children of Zodiarcs has surpassed the previous funding record for a Square Enix Collective-supported Kickstarter campaign, hitting CAD 245,000 in its final day.

The game, created by Montreal-based indie team Cardboard Utopia, is a tactical JRPG featuring cards and dice, and inspired by other projects such as Final Fantasy Tactics.

The project’s original goal for the campaign was CAD 40,000, but the popularity of the campaign meant that target was reached in the first couple of days.

The previous highest-funded project supported by Collective was Tokyo Dark, from Japan-based developer Cherrymochi, which ended its campaign at CAD 225,000 from a CAD 40,000 target.

The Children of Zodiarcs Kickstarter campaign ends at around 8:30pm GMT / 3:30pm EST on Friday February 19, and currently brings the running total of funding achieved by all 8 Kickstarter campaigns supported by Collective to around USD 800,000.

“We’re incredibly happy for the Cardboard Utopia team – their project has really resonated with people keen to play a new game in the tactical JRPG genre,” said Phil Elliott, creator and project lead on Square Enix Collective.

“We’ve watched the evolution of Kickstarter videogames funding, and for teams without a well-known franchise or famous designer, crowdfunding is getting much tougher – so we’re really happy that we’ve been able to help teams hit their targets.”

Children of Zodiarcs is estimated for release later in 2016; here is a Kickstartercampaign link.

Square Enix Collective is a platform that aims to help independent developers find an audience for their projects, by enabling them to tap into our community and media resources. Projects which gamers support through the initial Feedback phase may be offered continued support through crowdfunding too; but developers are free to choose whether to accept, and retain IP and creative control over their projects.

Collective also offers distribution and publishing services to games already funded, and invests in production of a small number of titles to help them complete development and get to release.

This means that those who somehow have missed out on perhaps one of Telltale‘s best games since The Walking Dead on other platforms will still need to acquire the title digitally. A new trailer highlighting numerous moments throughout the series has been released and you can check it out below.

More about Last Descendants:

Nothing in Owen’s life has been right since his father died in prison, accused of a crime Owen is certain he didn’t commit. Monroe, the IT guy at school, might finally bring Owen the means to clear his father’s name by letting him use an Animus — a device that lets users explore the genetic memories buried within their own DNA. The experience brings Owen more than he bargained for. During a simulation, Owen uncovers the existence of an ancient and powerful relic long considered legend — the Trident of Eden. Now two secret organizations will stop at nothing to take possession of this artifact — the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Templar Order. It soon becomes clear to Owen that the only way to save himself is to find the Trident first.

Under the guidance of Monroe, Owen and a group of other teenagers enter a simulation of memories they all share within their DNA: the 1863 draft riots in New York City. Owen and his companions will find themselves tested on the gritty streets of New York, and their experiences in the past will have far-reaching consequences in the present.

The first DLC map pack, for the No. 1 top-selling video game of 2015, Call of Duty®: Black Ops III Awakening from Activision Publishing, Inc. and developer Treyarch, is available now on PlayStation 4 and coming to Xbox One and PC on March 4, 2016.

DLC 1: Awakening features:

  • Skyjacked: High above urban Zurich, Skyjacked is a modernized version of the popular Call of Duty®: Black Ops II multiplayer map Hijacked. Utilizing the new core movement system featured in Black Ops III, this map gives players new ways to explore the environment, while still retaining the same fast and frenetic gameplay players love.
  • Splash: Dive into battle in this abandoned water park, featuring a vibrant and colourful environment, including waterslides, a wrecked pirate ship and a lazy river. Splash encourages an open flow of combat with opportunities for underwater gameplay.
  • Gauntlet: Delivering three unique environments within one action-packed map, Gauntlet showcases Treyarch’s classic three-lane map structure, transporting players into battle through a sprawling jungle, sub-zero artic zone and rainy urban cityscape.
  • Rise: A versatile multiplayer map, Rise is set in the snowy outskirts of Zurich in the middle of an ongoing construction site for a massive subterranean Coalescence research campus.  With multiple engagement areas throughout this larger map, each section caters to different styles of gameplay.

Awakening also introduces the first chapter of Call of Duty: Black Ops III’s Zombies DLC adventure with Der Eisendrache picking up where The Giant left off.  Set in a chilling medieval Austrian castle during World War II, players will embark on an epic 4-part journey with the Origin characters Richtofen, Nikolai, Takeo and Dempsey, spanning the DLC season.  The ancient site on which the castle sits was the scene of unspeakable horror where massive deposits of Element 115 have recently been discovered.  Players will discover a variety of exciting plot twists and surprises as they survive waves of the undead.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III Awakening DLC Map Pack is available at a discounted rate via the Call of Duty: Black Ops III Season Pass**, which features all four DLC Map Packs planned for the year, as part of the discounted bundle offered at a suggested retail price of $64.95.
