A few more characters for Utawarerumono: The Two Hakuoros have been confirmed as playable as well as a number of returning characters from the second game have also been confirmed to return through the last issues of Weekly Famitsu. We previously learned that Anju would be stepping in as a playable fighter this time around so it only makes sense that her bodyguard and one of the eight pillar generals, Munechika, will also be joining the fray. It was also confirmed that the priestesses of Yamato, Uruura and Saraana, will be returning as allies once again.

Following that reveal came this week’s Dengeki PlayStation that confirmed that a new character who will be serving as Kuon’s attendant will also be in the game. She is named Fumiruiru and is described as an understanding big-hearted girl whose appearance often causes problems thanks to her charm. Currently Utawarerumono: The Two Hakuoros is set to be released in Japan for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita on September 21st.

talent-not-included-screenshot-001

Canadian indie developers Frima will be bringing their action platformer Talent Not Included to Steam on August 30th. The game stars Zordok, Derp, and Kevin, three monsters who love violence and Shakespeare. The talent-less trio decide to put on a play mixing their two loves. The demon critic Zot (an actual demon, not the usual soulless critic) is using this play as an opportunity to create havoc.

Players will fight a variety of monsters set on a cylindrical theater stage. The game features couch co-op and some really absurd humour. Talent Not Included is priced at $12.99 USD and will support both Mac and Windows. There are no pre-orders available at this time, so buyers will have to wait until August 30th to pick up the game on Steam.

Turtle Rock Studios is in the second week of the five week-long “Shear Madness” event that will be adding new content to Evolve Stage 2. Week one introduced the new Quantum Caira character. This week, Evolve is adding a brand new map called Cataclysm. The map Orbital Drill has been transformed into a fiery hell on earth after a cataclysmic event changed the planet Shear forever. Both hunters and monsters will have to dodge falling meteors to avoid damage and catch Generyst infused meteors for a quick health boost.

The update also introduces an update to the Co-op mode. A matchmaking queue has been introduced, meaning players no longer need to find three friends to participate in the hunt. Turtle Rock Studios has another co-op update planned to launch sometime in the next three weeks and a new co-op mode will be released before September.

Evolve Stage 2 is the free to play update for Evolve on Windows. The updated game is available now on Steam.

Mad Catz Announces Reboot of the RAT Gaming Mouse Line

Mad Catz announced a full reboot of their popular RAT Gaming Mouse line up. The mice are getting updated with modern features like RGB LEDs, swappable sensors, improved materials and more, all while maintaining the distinctive RAT design.

The line up begins with the budget oriented Mad Catz RAT1 wired mouse featuring a 1600 DPI optical sensor and six macro buttons. As the lightest of the bunch, the RAT 1 is constructed of plastic and features an adjustable palm rest and single colour lighting. The RAT4 mouse looks more like the standard RAT design that also adds a precision aim mode, a thumb rest, a 5000 DPI optical sensor, more buttons, and a higher quality switch.

Mad Catz is offering two mid range gaming mice in the rebooted RAT line. The RAT6 and RAT8 both feature Mad Catz’s new Kameleon LED lighting, three lighting zones, high quality Omron switches, on board memory, precision aim mode, adjustable weights, adjustable palm rest, and aluminium parts. The slightly cheaper RAT6 keeps costs down with an 8200 DPI laser sensor. The RAT8 adds an adjustable pinkie and thumb rests and an astonishingly high 12000 DPI optical sensor.

The line up is topped off with Mad Catz’s top of the line offerings designed for professional and hard core gamers. The RAT Pro S+ is a no frills tournament grade mouse featuring an optical 7200 DPI sensor, eight macro buttons, Kameleon RGB lighting, precision aim, and an adjustable palm rest. The mouse is entirely plastic and keeps the RAT design, but still comes in 10g lighter than the budget RAT4.

The king of the RAT line is the RAT Pro X+. This mouse is the tweaker’s dream with an incredible amount of customization options. Owners can choose between three swappable sensors: an optical 5000 DPI sensor, a laser 8200 DPI sensor, or an optical 12000 DPI sensor. The body features adjustable palm rest, pinkie rest, thumb rest, scroll wheel, and mouse feet. Three lighting zones can be tweaked with the Kameleon RGB lghting zones. The mouse is built out of plastic and magnesium and comes in at only 110g, lighter than the mid range RAT mice.

The original RAT7 was a hefty mouse that introduced one of the most customizable gaming mouse to the gaming market, pushing other manufacturers to put out similar mice. I was always a little disappointed that RAT line hadn’t changed much in the past several years, with the odd addition to the RAT line every year or so. This reboot marks a very serious attempt to modernize the line in a straight forward way that is easy to understand for the buyer. The new line of RAT mice are set to hit stores this holiday season. While the exact price of each mouse has yet to be announced, Mad Catz has priced the RAT ProX at around the $200 USD mark.

More information about the rebooted line can be found at the official Mad Catz site.

The First NASCAR® Game on PlayStation®4 and Xbox One Features a Full Field of Racers for an Intense NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ Experience

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Aug. 9, 2016 – Publisher Dusenberry Martin Racing (DMR) has announced that NASCAR® Heat Evolution will feature online multiplayer racing for 40 drivers when it releases in North America on Sept. 13, 2016 on the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC.

“The intensity of competing against a full field of human players is really amazing,” said DMR CEO Tom Dusenberry. “The team at Monster Games has set a new bar for racing games, crafting a terrific-looking game that can be enjoyed with tons of friends online.”

Developed by Monster Games, creators of NASCAR Heat and NASCAR: Dirt to Daytona, NASCAR Heat Evolution’s robust multiplayer modes are built around three lobbies: No Rules, Normal and Hosted. Everything goes in No Rules, making it a great space for newcomers to practice behind the wheel or for veterans to just play around. Normal racing is for more serious players who want to test their skills in clean, friendly matches. Hosted is designed for the most competitive players, allowing race hosts to set the minimum level players must be to join an event and boot players from their game if necessary. Players can also invite friends to private races, ideal for leagues that want to host their own events.

In each lobby, players have the choice to join existing sessions or create their own, allowing for control over track selection, laps, fuel/tire wear, and number of drivers. All tracks and drivers will be eligible to race. By completing online races, players will be awarded points towards their skill level, helping to ensure that drivers of similar abilities are matched against each other.

NASCAR Heat Evolution is available for pre-order now at NASCARHeat.com, GameStop, Amazon.com, Best Buy, Target.com and Walmart.com. Fans can also follow NASCAR Heat Evolution on Twitter via @DMRNASCARHeat and @DMRacingGames, as well as on Snapchat @DMRNASCARHeat.

Tomyris leads Scythia in Civilization VI

Tomyris leads Scythia in Civilization VI

2K and Firaxis Games today revealed that Tomyris will lead Scythia in Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, launching on Oct 21st for Windows PC.

Tomyris assumed leadership of her group of nomadic pastoral tribes in 530 BC upon the death of her husband, the current chieftain. Her exploits were mentioned in the works of several great ancient writers such as Herodotus, Strabo, Polyaenus, Cassiodorus and Jordanes.

The most notable story about Tomyris involves the Persian ruler Cyrus the Great and his efforts to invade and subjugate Tomyris’ people. Cyrus and his troops planted an unattended camp with a healthy supply of wine in Scythian territory. The Scythian army, led by Tomyris’ son, stumbled upon the wine and, unfamiliar with the intoxicating effects of alcohol, drank themselves into a stupor. After, the Persians attacked the incapacitated army and kidnapped Tomyris’ son.

Tomyris, enraged, challenged Cyrus and another battle ensued; however, this time Cyrus and his forces were defeated, suffering a great many casualties including Cyrus himself. After the death of Cyrus, Tomyris had his corpse beheaded and crucified, and shoved his head into a wineskin filled with human blood. During this act, Tomyris is quoted as saying, “I warned you that I would quench your thirst for blood, and so I shall.”
