PaRappa the Rapper, Patapon, and Loco Roco Remasters Announced for PlayStation 4

Sony announced at the PlayStation Experience keynote that they are planning on remastering PaRappa the Rapper, Loco Roco, and Patapon for release on the PlayStation 4 sometime in 2017. To kick off this promise of bringing back three favorite titles a demo has already been released for PaRappa the Rapper Remastered on the PlayStation Store.

Of all three games it is clear that PaRappa the Rapper Remastered is being pushed the most as the company not only released screenshots for that title and for Patapon Remastered but they have also released a gameplay video full of nostalgia and you can check that all out below.

New Nioh Trailer Released for PSX

With Sony handling the publishing of Koei Tecmo‘s Nioh in the West, they revealed a special new minute long trailer for the game during the PlayStation Experience keynote where some story scenes and combat sequences are shown off. The footage can be seen below alongside some new screenshots introducing some of the smaller opponents, of whom are almost entirely derived from Japanese folklore, players will come across in their journey as William.

Currently Nioh is set to be released as a PlayStation 4 exclusive on February 7th in North America, February 8th in Europe, and finally February 9th in Japan.

Ys Origin Announced for PS Vita and PS4 Release in North America

A company called DotEmu has announced that they will be releasing Ys Origin on the PlayStation 4 and PS Vita in North America on February 21, 2017. Originally released for PC in Japan all the way back in 2006 and then released in English through Steam in 2012 by XSEED, Ys Origin is a prequel to the full Ys series and takes place seven hundred years before the events of the first game. The company has described this action RPG as one that has a “captivating story, stirring soundtrack, and epic boss battles.”

DotEmu goes on to describe the story of the game:

Following a devastating demonic invasion, the twin Goddesses use their magic to bring the inhabitants of legendary Ys safely into the sky. While the demons work to construct Devil’s Tower and reach the humans’ new abode, the Goddesses disappear. As a mighty warrior or a cunning mage, you must seek the Goddesses in Devil’s Tower. With your swordsmanship and spells, can you banish evil from the land of your ancestors?

The Last Guardian PSX Trailer Released

With only three days until it is finally released after all these years, Sony has released another trailer for The Last Guardian in an effort to show us more of what to expect in the upcoming adventure game. For those who haven’t been following the game, or have forgotten about it during its long development phase, the story is set in a strange and mystical land where a young boy discovers a mysterious creature with which he forms a deep unbreakable bond. The unlikely pair must rely on each other to journey through towering treacherous ruins filled with unknown dangers.

Ace Combat 7 to Launch in 2017

The last time we heard about Ace Combat 7 was during last year’s PlayStation Experience keynote and now a year later Bandai Namco is back with a bit of extra news for the game and a new trailer. The company is aiming to have Ace Combat 7 released sometime during 2017 for the PlayStation 4 and while the game will offer photo-realistic visuals, intense dog-fighting action, a multitude of authentic and futuristic aircraft with an immersive story-line it will now also support for the PlayStation VR.

Knack 2 Revealed for the PlayStation 4

Considering the rather cold reception that Knack received when the PlayStation 4 launched it became something of a running joke that Knack 2 would be announced sometime during a PlayStation event and it turns out that that actually happened. During the PlayStation Experience keynote Sony announced that they are indeed planning on releasing Knack 2 for the PlayStation 4 sometime in the future.

Accompanied by an announcement trailer, found below, Knack 2 will feature new moves, improved couch co-op, and plenty of new vibrant environments to explore. Players will also be able to do things such as drive a tank, control a robot, or test out new moves on their friends.

Free Gravity Rush 2 DLC Announced for March 2017

Sony has announced that they will be releasing some free DLC for Gravity Rush 2. This DLC is called Gravity Rush 2 Another Story: The Ark of Time – Raven’s Choice and puts players in control of Raven for the very first time. Releasing in March 2017 this content will follow the story of Raven who must battle alone to save the Lost Children who have been left trapped inside the Ark at the end of the first game.

You can check out some screenshots as well as the announcement trailer for the DLC below while the full game of Gravity Rush 2 will be released on January 18 in Europe, January 19 in Japan, and January 20 in North America.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom to be Released in 2017

Last year Bandai Namco announced that Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom was in development and now during PlayStation Experience 2017 the company revealed that they are aiming to have the title released sometime in 2017 as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. To go along with this announcement the company released a new English trailer, found below, to show off the protagonist Evan and his quest to rebuild the kingdom that he lost and explore the land while meeting many new friends and enemies.

A handful of new screenshots for Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom were also released and you can check them out below.

NieR: Automata Arrives in the West on March 7th

Durng PlayStation Experience Square Enix released a new trailer for NieR: Automata and while the video gives us a great, albeit brief, look at the game’s combat it also reveals one important detail that fans in most of the world have been wondering about, just when exactly the game would be released in the West.

Thanks to this latest trailer we now know that NieR: Automata will be released on March 7, 2017 only a couple weeks after the Japanese release of the game. Those who pre-order the game will be given the “Day One” edition that will include a reversible cover and some DLC. Those who feel like spending a bit more can also opt for the Black Box Edition that is priced at $189.99 and will include all of the day one bonuses, a soundtrack CD, an art book, a steel case, and a YoRHa ‘2B’ figure.

Street Fighter V Brings Akuma to the Roster on December 20

About a month ago Capcom revealed that Akuma would be heading to Street Fighter V and now we know exactly when to expect this fan favorite fighter. During the PlayStation Experience keynote event Capcom announced that Akuma will be released on December 20th as the very first character in the 2017 Character Pass. The pass will cost $29.99 and will give players access to Akuma as well as five other fighters that will be released throughout the year. This pass also gives buyers Premium Battle Costumes with colors 3-10 already unlocked, default costumes colored 3-10 for each of these characters, and a special PlayStation 4 theme.
