Shhh, can you hear that? Is…is that one of the most triumphant, uplifting sounds of all time? I guess it’s the Attack on Titan theme song once again travelling the airwaves. The choral power. The blare of trumpets. Sounds that resonated with countless fans and took residence within their mind. Let’s face it, as good as the other openings were, none received more attention than this one. With remakes and covers, it achieved an almost viral spread throughout the anime centric world and beyond.
Though the song by itself is awesome, the best element about it is just how well it aligns with the series itself. The song perfectly captures the drama, the scale, the overall epic nature of Attack on Titan. From the very first powerful note, you are drawn into the world, proud to revel under the banner of humanity. Just listen, can’t you feel the power welling up within you? The urge for freedom? The desire for change? No? Listen again, I’m sure you’ll hear it.
