Carlsbad, Calif. – Jan. 6, 2010 – Razer, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming and lifestyle peripherals, has announced that they have received preliminary approval from Microsoft to develop the Razer Onza™ Professional Gaming Controller for Xbox 360® and Razer is working towards approval of a licensed Razer Chimaera™ Professional Gaming Headset for Xbox 360® designed specifically for the Xbox 360 gaming console.

Razer plans to develop the Onza Professional Gaming Controller for Xbox 360 and Chimaera Professional Gaming Headset for Xbox 360 that will provide gamers with special features to enhance the Xbox 360 gaming experience. The Razer Onza will feature Razer Hyperesponse™ buttons, analog sticks with customizable tension and a programmable multi-function button (MFB). The Razer Chimaera is equipped with a 5.1 Channel Virtual Surround sound system, a Daisy-Chain cable system and a circumaural design for optimum sound quality and comfort. These releases promise to be an exciting new endeavour as Razer makes its much anticipated debut into the world of console gaming.

Netflix coming to a Nintendo Console near you !!!

It’s been rumored for quite some time that Netflix’s instant streaming service is coming to Nintendo Wii.  At this this years Consumer Electronics Show CES 2010 in last vegas.  Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said that the chances of Netflix supporting Nintendo are “EXCELLENT” 

Another so called Rumor that’s been swiring around the internet is that  Nintendo are planning on releasing the Wii HD, Nintendo’s followup/upgrade to the Wii.  Now we have to sit and wait and see what will happen.  Will Netflix only be made available on the new Wii HD console or both. 

The great thing is if Netflix can get this working on both the Wii and the Wii HD then there will be a lot of happy Wii owners out there that wont have to upgrade to take advantage of watching movies in the comfort of their own living rooms.

Now all we need is NETFLIX to come to AUSTRALIA and us Aussies will also be happy 😉

MW2 – where it is going.. or been.. or maybe just gone?

So here we are 2 months in MW2, and where are we going with it?

After numerous glitches and patches released, guns nerfed, alot of swearing online, alot of OMG moments, alot of bullshit moments, what is in store for us MW2 devotees?

Well the matchmatching fixes, where are they???? For those of you that say it doesn’t make a difference whether you have 2 yellow bars or 4 green bars.. try it yourself – there is a massive amount of difference.
PC and PS3 users already have the fix, supposedly IW have sent the fix to MS for approval last year, we are still waiting.
Other exploits have also been brought to Infinity Ward’s attention. The care package marker run like the 6 million dollar man? Stab people at will with Commando perk on, use it on CTF (Capture The Flag) to score points easily. Infinity Ward’s @FourZeroTwo, Robert Bowling has said that Infinity Ward are looking at it, but will anything change?

Seeing as the Xbox has been hacked, and the game files can be tampered with, people have been finding some nice hidden extras on the game disk. One of those is a game type called Thermonuclear War, have a look at the Youtube video below.

Are we going to expect this in the recently announced DLC coming later this year? Why do we have to pay for this stuff if it is already on the disk? There is also another game mode called VIP, don’t have many details on this one yet.
What else can we expect on the DLC? Most probably new maps – the ones we have now tend to get a bit boring being played all the time. New guns? Doubt it.

Accessory Makers to Help Extend Reach of EA SPORTS Products Across the Globe

EA today announced multi-year license agreements with consumer electronic accessory manufacturers Sakar International Inc., Sunflex Europe and ACCESSORIES 4 TECHNOLOGY Ltd. (A4T). With the agreements, the EA SPORTS label and its partners will bring to market EA SPORTS-branded peripheral products, including for the EA SPORTS Active line of interactive fitness products, to enhance the interactive experience across multiple titles for gaming consoles, PCs and mobile platforms.

Sakar, Sunflex and A4T will be working collaboratively with EA SPORTS and IMG to market and distribute new EA SPORTS-branded peripherals across the globe, designed to enhance the experience of playing EA SPORTS video games and interactive fitness products. These agreements are the latest round of partnerships created in collaboration with IMG Licensing, the exclusive worldwide consumer product and brand licensing agent of EA SPORTS.

“Each of these new partnerships offers EA SPORTS new ways to improve our consumers’ experience and deepen their connection to the fabric of sport,” said Glenn Chin, Vice President of Brand Marketing at EA SPORTS. “With our games, we always strive to deliver innovation, authenticity and fun. We see a tremendous opportunity with these partners to bring those qualities to life in unique and exciting new products for EA SPORTS.”

Details of EA SPORTS’ new licensing agreement include:

  • Sakar International Inc., a producer of licensed products for leading consumer brands, will create Wii and Nintendo DS gaming accessories as well as youth electronics for EA SPORTS products for distribution in North America. Products will include new gaming controls and a full range of EA SPORTS-branded multi-media and computer accessories. The first items are expected to be released in spring 2010. (Announced today at the opening of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.)
  • Sunflex Europe, known for its high tech gaming accessories, will bring EA SPORTS-branded peripherals to gamers across Europe in 2010. Sunflex Europe will provide more than 20 products already in production under the agreement.
  • A4T will develop and produce a range of accessories for EA SPORTS titles for all platforms, including iPod®. A4T will have exclusive rights to distribute in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

All three companies will work collaboratively with EA SPORTS and IMG, sharing technology and designs to bring products to market in their respective territories.

Ubisoft have surprised us all with the sudden release of Assassin’s Creed II – Discovery for the Apple iPhone/iPod Touch.

Discover an untold chapter from the Assassin’s Creed II storyline.  Follow Enzio as he travels to Spain to rescue fellow assassins being held under the guise of the Inquisition, only to uncover a Templar plot to sail west and discover a New World.

From the screenshots it looks like Ubisoft have done quite a pretty good job with Assassin’s Creed II.  It’s priced at a hefty price $14.99 AUD  So let’s hope for this price it’s a faily long and enjoyable side story, as it’s one of the most expensive titles available in iTunes at the moment.
