Portal 2 – Meet Wheatley

Portal 2 - logo

Valve released a new video for Portal 2 introducing Wheatley, a new and funny character in the universe of Portal series.

Wheatley will help the player during some of his progress in the game, the video below shows the amazing personality you can expect from this partner.

Of course you can expect the return of familiar faces too, since the cake is a lie, you know?

Achievements – Transformers: War For Cybertron

The achievements in Transformers: War for Cybertron are actually pretty good. There are the regular achievements for beating all the levels, and then the stackable difficulty based achievements, and of course the multiplayer achievements. Transformers: War for Cybertron does manage to wrap all these generic achievements with achievements that will actually get you replaying levels and are quite fun. There are the collecting achievements but those aren’t bad at all and with the game broken down into a series of levels and checkpoints, you can pretty much jump to any 10 minutes located in the game. No need to go through an entire level just for 1 item. Other achievements include doing a certain task so many times, but these are greatly helped by an in game tracker that pops up every time you you successfully complete another part of that task. Need to kill 10 people with a detached turret, it will tell you every time you get a new kill with a detached turret and keep a tally for you. There are also a few speed runs located in there, and those are actually fun and a bit challenging your first try. Overall the singleplayer achievements are bareable and not that bad. As for the multiplayer achievements, those just consist of grinding and no one likes doing that anyway.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC is coming back

The Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC which was taken off of the makerplace a while back for no apparent reason is coming back. Sadly, it is only coming back until the end of 2010. The DLC includes 250g, so if you want to get all the achievements in this game, you best grab this DLC while you can. They are hoping to get the DLC back on XBLA and PSN by July 4th. Fingers crossed that we can all grab it this time. Fingers doubly crossed that it goes on sale at the same time. Sadly there will not be a Golden Edition that has the DLC included, like they did with the first game.

This was confirmed by an admin on the MUA2 forums. Below you can see the post.

“So here is the news – and this is part of what was keeping me super busy behind the scenes – we did it!  We made our case (your fan support helped), begged, pleaded, cajoled and didn’t give up and were able to convince the ‘powers that be’ to bring MUA2 DLC back!!  This is really happening.  And you are the FIRST to know.

In terms of timing, now that it’s been approved, we need to coordinate to get this back up on Xbox Live and PSN.  I am hoping we can get this up on XBL before the 4th of July but that might be wishful thinking – we are trying.  As soon as I know definite timing, I will let you know.

And this is important – I want to make sure this is super clear from the beginning – all good things must come to an end and we are only allowed to have the MUA2 DLC back up through the end of 2010.  So there will be about a 6 month window to download the content again, and then it will be gone for good.  It’s not a strategy and not our choice, this is just what is allowed so I’m giving you all the advance notice I can.

On other questions… there’s not going to be a Gold Edition, but we are able to get the DLC content back via XBL and PSN.”

Lost Planet 2 DLC for later July

Now it is finally time for some lost planet DLC that is slightly more appetizing then those map packs we got earlier on.

‘Rush Arena’ is coming along with the ‘Post Modern’ skin. The skin allows you to dress up as a data post, and if you haven’t played the game you will have no idea what I am talking about right now. The Post Modern skin is available for multiplayer modes from the start but if you want to wear it in singleplayer you will need to beat the game first.

‘Rush Arena’ is a 4-player co-op mode that puts your team against all of the bosses within the game. I mean LITERALLY all of the bosses. (hahaha! yes, the emphasis is place wrong.) Fight the giant salamander Gordiant to the hugenormous desert Akrid and wipe your mouth with the final boss. Hmmm, what a yummy boss dinner this will be! The mode will include Leaderboard support which means BRAGGING RIGHTS! BRINg IT ON!

‘Rush Arena’ and ‘ Post Modern’ skin will be out at the end of July and will cost 240 Microsoft Points.

Crackdown 2 Demo Patched and Facebook game

Is everyone enjoying the Crackdown 2 demo? any of you get all the achievements already. Well, there was a patch for the demo that nullified the infinite time glitch that was so much fun. The 30 minute timer is stupid, and that glitch and 10 unlockable achievements pretty much made the crackdown 2 demo the best demo ever!

Anyway, there is also a facebook game that you guys may not know about. This facebook game can be found on facebook. Here is the link to the Australian and New Zealand one.

It is a fun little game that lets you have some bragging rights of facebook. Manage your skills, complete missions and get a random amount of orbs to increase your skills even further. Enjoy.

Three great apps for only $0.99 each

So on top of some of those free apps you may have found here, you can also find three other quite unique games that will only run you $0.99 which is barely the price of a soft drink in most places.  Now don’t expect the following games to give you hours of enjoyment in one sitting, they aren’t designed for that.  But as you can see with the video with each app, you can see that they are quite fun and will help pass the time between waiting periods either at the bus station or even waiting for a movie to start.

First we have iHook puzzle game:

Then we have an interesting Crazy Parachute:

Finally we will see how it is to be on the other side of the infection when the zombie virus breaks out Infection: Zombies:

Fancy any of these Apps? Let us know! The Infection: Zombies looks to be a nice twist on the whole zombie outbreak thing. Not too sure about the Crazy Parachute one though. If anything else though iHook looks to be a unique take on a puzzler app.

Bioshock 2 trophies reveal future DLC

Below is the new set of trophies added to Bioshock 2. The trophies point at a new game mode. Most likely single player, you will be collecting stars based on how well you do. Judging by the last two trophies, and the title of the game mode it will most likely be a series of modes where you protect a little sister as she gathers adam. It isn’t that creative, but currently it is all speculation. Maybe you have to follow the sister around as she goes from body to body and you have to protect her as long as possible.

  • Litmus Test – Earn 6 stars in the Protector Trials
  • Acid Test – Earn 18 stars in the Protector Trial
  • Trial By Fire – Earn 36 stars in the Protector Trials
  • Enemy of the Family – Earn an A rank in all Protector Trials
  • Hidden Trophy – Unknown
  • Perfect Protector – Collect 100% of the ADAM in a single Protector Trial
  • Get a Bigger Bucket – Collect 50% of the ADAM available in all Protector Trials
