Atari and Eden Games’ has released another video for Test Drive Unlimited 2. This video shows off more of the vast open world in which you can explore. Is anyone actually going to be racing? I’d be to distracted with all the areas to explore.
The sequel, due out in September, is looking to truly out do its predecessor.
Square Enix and IO Interactive announced today that it will now release one week earlier in both Europe and North America.
The game was originally scheduled for August 24th in North america and August 27th in Europe. Kane and Lynch 2 will now release one week earlier on August 17th in North America and August 20th in Europe.
Square has also announced the pre-order bonuses for those that pre-order. Pre-orders will receive the exclusive Radio Tower multiplayer map, 7 new multiplayer weapons and 8 Chinese costume masks for your character. The bonus will be “available at all good retailers.”
Now lets rap it all up with the latest multiplayer trailer titled, ‘Focus On The Job.’ Enjoy.
Before Sony grabbed Joe Danger for PSN, Hello Games revealed to the Develop Conference crowd today some of the reasons that the game was denied publication by other publishers
Sean Murray, a programmer at Hello Games, wouldn’t name any names in the conference but was happy to give out some quotes from publishers for why they wouldn’t publish the game.
The 7 quotes the programmer gave were:
“Name me one popular game with motorbikes?”
“Collecting giant coins feels unrealistic to me”
“I can see this working as a Facebook app”
“We want games that are less about fun right now”
“We love the theme, but with a different game”
“We believe the iPhone will be largely unsupported”
“Can Joe be a monkey? We like Monkeys”
It is said when a publisher says they they want a game that is less about fun. Even though the monkey idea sounds really good, everyone loves monkeys!

Deep Silver cracks the point and click whip this summer with Lost Horizon!
Following the success of The Secret Files series software publisher Deep Silver returns to the point and click genre this summer with their new title, Lost Horizon, due for PC release next month.
Developed by Animation Arts, Lost Horizon looks set to please point and click and adventure fans with a compelling story, bags of action and snappy dialogue. Players have two characters at their disposal, the unusually named Fenton Paddock – a former British soldier and the mysterious Kim. As the dynamic duo you travel around the world visiting locations as varied as Hong Kong, America and India meeting all manner of interesting characters along the way.
You start your adventure in 1936 as Fenton, an ex soldier who now uses his military training as a smuggler for hire. Having developed quite the reputation for finding objects that were meant never to be found, Fenton is asked to help locate a missing military expedition lost somewhere in deepest Tibet. Along the way Fenton crosses paths with an elite squad of Nazis who are tracking down very powerful and dangerous occult weapons in an early attempt at world domination and it’s down to you as Fenton to find the expedition and stop the Nazis before they discover the greatest treasure of all, the Mysterious city of Shambala!
Graphically the game looks very impressive and with intricate hand drawn backgrounds and colourful 3D characters Lost horizon looks set to be an action-packed adventure in the vein of the Indiana Jones movies.
Only time and a review will tell if Lost Horizon will rise to the challenge or sink into obscurity but at this point my money’s on the former and with the price point a very reasonable $19.99 it may be hard to resist when it’s released as a digital download this coming August.

So we have heard that Destination Arcade was pushed back a week to go with the Summer Arcade promotion, but now there is even more bad news afoot. Major Nelson has found out that Destination Arcade will only be available during the Summer of Arcade until it ends on August 18th. Wait…. what?
It seems that this is either A. a beta test for the App which we will see at another time. Or B. An unfortunate waste of a good browser that would have updated the way we see our arcade games. I’m hoping it is A because otherwise it doesn’t make sense at all to be honest. Though this is for US residents only, the rest of the world doesn’t have to worry about this type of browser yet, though maybe if this is only a beta, it could see full release. Hope to hear some other type of news on this soon.
With a release date of July 27th, we are already waiting anxiously for Blazblue: Continuum Shift to appear on shelves. But now we are seeing even more of the Squirrel Girl fighter Makoto; a soon available after release DLC girl in full combat mode with the blow video. It looks like she is a bit of a mix between a completely close up fighter and the speed of Taokaka. Should make for some interesting fights if I say so myself.
If your dieing right now to get your hands on the Kinect package that is coming out later this year, then you can reserve your own version right here and now; or at least at Walmart you can. The price shows up at $199.99 so expect to be paying quite a lot here, but the bonuses may make it worth the while.
Anyone who gets this pre-order bundle will receive not only a $30 Walmart.com gift card but will also receive a free Kinect game of their choice between: Kinect Sports, Kinect Dance Central, Kinect Joy Ride, or Kinectimals. I’d pick Kinectimals myself and with these bonuses, your essentially getting $90 along with Natal which has a rumored, though extremely solidly rumored, price of $150. This deal may be for US residents only, but it is not said on their website that it is.
Sure the Tokyo Game Show won’t be happening until September 16th and ending on the 19th but what about how many people will end up being there? Well as of July 1st we will be seeing 138 companies at least showing off what they have to at the event, taking up over 1,410 booths over the four days that the event takes place at. Last years event only contained 1,367 booths so this is a relatively good jump in number over the course of only one year and the event still months away.
Not only will there be the Japanese companies exhibiting during the show but we can expect to see many Asian countries such as; Korea, Taiwan and China showing off various games of their developmental procedures. Put this together with the fact that the show is beginning to focus around the advancements in 3D gaming and social gaming and we will see a very interesting TGS this year.
Unfortunately the first two days of the show are reserved strictly only for gaming press, but the good news is the last two days are for everyone as the doors will be open to any public visitors who purchase a ticket. There is even good news for your average cosplayer attendee, as they will be able to perform various stunts or acts to rival their fellow cosplaying compatriots. It will be quite an interesting show this year around, and if you could make it; would you go as a cosplay of your favorite game character?
