Dead or Alive Dimensions to feature Metroid cameo

With the big reveals at Nintendo’s 3DS convention today we’ve seen plenty of new videos and new information regarding the 3DS and its games. But one thing that many players weren’t expecting was a cameo appearance of Metroid in Tecmo Koei’s Dead or Alive Dimensions. They’ve let this little cameo go unspoken in the past, but now it is in the limelight. This is quite obviously taking advantage of the fact that Team Ninja worked on Metroid: Other M last year and now they have put together a Metroid stage featuring Ridley and even a quick appearance of Samus Aran.

Also it appears that simply getting knocked off of this stage will result in your character losing well over a quarter of their health bar. But beyond the little cameo appearances we also get a brand new gameplay video that shows many different characters from the well known franchise battling with one another. Catch both that video and the one with Samus below. Now who thinks that Samus herself may become a playable fighter in Dead or Alive Dimensions?

Super Monkey Ball 3D to feature fighting monkeys and racing?

Ready for some cute monkey action featuring the lovable Monkey Ball characters coming out of your console into full 3D? Wait are those boxing gloves? In the latest trailer for Super Monkey Ball 3D we see two different mini-games that will be featured in the upcoming 3DS game from Sega.

Not too much is known unfortunately about these minigames other than the fact that they will obviously be in the game when it releases sometime this year. Which leaves us with many questions, a number of which include how the monkeys themselves happen to breath if they are always stuck in the balls? Also why would monkeys inside of balls need to race around in cars to begin with; especially while they are still inside of their balls.

Resident Evil 3D: The Mercenaries coming this Summer

While it is good news that we have a brand new trailer with some gameplay footage of Resident Evil 3D: The Mercenaries, it is bad news that the game will unfortunately not be making the March 26th launch of the 3DS. Instead fans of the Resident Evil series will be able to get their fix sometime this Summer when Capcom is planning to release the game worldwide.

With this announcement they have also revealed a new trailer which shows off the different playable characters that you will be able to choose from, such as Hunk, Chris and Claire Redfield and even Krauser will be able to battle the undead hordes and get this, they will even be able to move and shoot at the same time!

Super Street Fighter IV 3DS Edition trailers and info released

Now that the huge 3DS is over Capcom has released two new videos for Super Street Fighter IV 3DS Edition which will release with the launch of the 3DS. One video features gameplay footage while the other is a simple trailer for the game, but both are great to see after the long drought of news regarding SSFIV3DS. Other than that though more information for the game itself has been revealed alongside these videos.

Super Street Fighter IV 3DS Edition will be using everything available in the 3DS regarding online multiplayer when the game launches; in what they are calling the only title to utilize the full capabilities of Nintendo’s online network at launch. StreetPass will use the Figurines that you can collect within the game to battle automatically with other Nintendo 3DS owners and you can even collect your winnings. This means that if you are in a crowded area with your 3DS then you could win countless battles without even knowing it.

The game will be sporting 35 different playable characters from the Street Fighter franchise and also utilize an easy to use Lite mode which gives players the ability to instantly map combination attacks to one button press or even a Pro mode which allows those who know the combinations to make things a bit easier for themselves.

Left 4 Dead achievements fixed and bugs patched

Valve has released an update for Left 4 Dead (the first one, mind you). This update should patch any achievement progress you might have lost when downloading any of the latest DLC, specifically ‘The Sacrifice’. The update also fixes the glitchy ‘Sacrifizzle’ achievement.

Hopefully all progress lost because you picked up ‘The Sacrifice’ will be restored; however, Valve states on its Left 4 Dead Blog that in a few cases, some achievement progress might not be possible to recover.

Below is a full list of the bugs that have been patched.

• In Versus mode Tanks will spawn in stasis until a human player takes over. Tanks in stasis are invisible and invulnerable, and won’t move or attack.
• Tank speed is no longer reduced when on fire.
• Allow players on the Infected team to manually spawn during finales.
• Added a vote option to toggle All-Talk.
• Special Infected that causes a Survivor to stumble into a “ledge hang” situation will receive 50 points.
• Bullets that first pass through an infected character before striking a Survivor are now ignored as friendly fire.
• In Versus mode car alarms will now trigger anytime a Special Infected pulls or stumbles a Survivor into an alarm car.
• Survivor Bots no longer try to melee exploding barrels out of their way.
• Fixed the Sacrifizzle achievement.

Two new videos for Test Drive Unlimited 2

Test Drive Unlimite 2 is only a few more weeks away. Atari and Eden games has some more videos to share. The game is looking quite promissing, and these two most recent videos show of the Mercedes brand within the game, as well as the large customization features.

While the videos may be on the shorter side, I’m sure they are appreciated for the readers out there who just can’t wait to get their hands on this sequel.

Just a few more weeks!

Test Drive Unlimited 2 comes out February 08, 2011 in the United States and February 11, 2011 in Europe.

3DS will have friend codes; but only one per handheld

nintendo-3ds-conference-screenshot03

Did you hate how on previous Nintendo systems there was that horrible friend code system? Well the 3DS will be having a friend code to connect with your different friends through Wi-Fi. But wait don’t let your hopes down quite yet because the friend code, which used to be different for every game you played, will only need one friend code for your 3DS.

Not only have the friend codes been more streamlined but the 3DS will give players the ability to see what games their friends are actually playing so that you will be able to take the guess work out of trying to find a friend to play with. Plus if you are lucky enough to have two 3DSs in your house, or have a friend with one coming by, and you both use the same Wi-Fi connection, then you will be able to play with one another without the use of a friend code at all.

Nintendo 3DS Priced and Dated for the U.S!

As I am writing this, the Nintendo 3DS event is going on with all of the developers sharing some of the awesome features as well as new titles for the handheld, but Nintendo’s twitter is surely the thing to watch at the moment if you are not at the event live, as an official price of $249.99 has just been named for the console (for those who are watching, there is a bit of a delay happening so this is why the date and price came forward first). This price is about what I exactly expected and really isn’t bad at all due to the massive amount of features (which we will get to in a bit) included.

Of course the main news here to go along with this is that the Nintendo 3DS will be hitting the states on March 27, 2011 and the 25th of March in Europe. Just a little over two months away! I know I am ready for this one and be sure to stay tuned as we will be covering even more highlights from this event.
