Hunters: Episode One New Release for iOS

Over the past 6 months, new comers to the world of iOS development, Rodeo Games Ltd., have been working on their debut game, Hunters: Episode One. Hunters: Episode one is a science-fiction, turn base strategy game, that has you take the role of captain over an elite team of bounty hunters. With new content available on a daily basis, the team of hunters are given new contracts, which need to be completed in order to progress through the levels and gain experience – a bonus of which is the unlocking of new weapons, equipments and talents!

If you like the look of this game, then the good news is that the team at Rodeo Games are going to continue to develop story based missions and additional features to build on existing game play. Having yet to play the game myself, I am still impressed with the graphics and attention to detail in creating a dystopian science-fiction world – all delivered on a mobile device. Hunters: Episode One is currently out now for the iPhone and iPad, and we can only hope will be followed by episodes two, three and more.

Shadows of the Damned to feature girlfriend from hell, literally

Shadows of the Damned may not be coming out until June 7th but that doesn’t stop EA and GrassHooper Manufacture from releasing a new trailer that was shown at the Game Developer’s Conference last week. The trailer itself shows main character Garcia’s girlfriend, or should I say what is left of her after being taken by the demons and it looks like the demons will take great pleasure in torturing Garcia by using her image as disguises.

Shadows of the Damned will be published under the EA Partneres label much like Crysis 2 will be later this month. But the developers themselves have quite a few games under their belt such as Goichi Suda of Suda51 and Resident Evil’s creator Shinji Mikami. Even the sound is being handled by Akira Yamaoka who handled the sound of another signature horror series, Silent Hill. When this game arrives on the Xbox 360 and Ps3 this summer it will have quite a large following simply because of the developers themselves.

Uncharted 3’s villainess revealed as Katherine Marlowe

Every game needs a suitable villain, whether it be human, alien, or nature itself but Uncharted 3 is going to have a Helen Mirren lookalike as their villainess. In the latest trailer, which is more like a clip from a cutscene, we are introuced to Katherine Marlowe the head of a 400 year old secret society who has history with Nathan and his partner.

Exactly what she wants has not been made clear but it is strikingly obvious that she has her eyes on the ring Nathan wears around his neck. Also she carries a hidden blade in her umbrella which I can’t help but associate with the Penguin from Batman. Catch the clip below which is the full trailer despite the abrupt end.

Beyond Good & Evil soundtrack available free

Beyond Good & Evil just saw the release of its HD remake last week much to the joy of fans of Jade and the game in general. Ubisoft has decided to continue bringing joy to the masses by providing the entire soundtrack for Beyond Good & Evil entirely free which you can download here. The download is 168 MB so be ready for a small download time depending on what internet you are using but with that you will be getting all 31 songs from the game’s amazing soundtrack.

Now most of these songs are primarily orchestral but there are a few in there that do have actual artists singing such as the Propaganda song and In Hot Pursuit. Now Beyond Good & Evil HD is available on the XBLM for 800 MSP and is certainly worth a look if you haven’t played the original game.

Jill and Shuma Gorath show off their moves in Marvel vs Capcom 3 trailers

Capcom released a couple of videos today to help boost interest in their upcoming character DLC containing Shuma Gorath and Jill Valentine. Many fans of the series were disappointed to find out that Jill would not be returning in the main roster for Marvel vs Capcom 3 but that will soon be rectified as long as they are willing to pay $5 or 400 MSP for each character individually.

These videos show off both Shuma Gorath and Jill Valentines special combo attacks as well as their finishing moves which was the standard for character reveals leading up to the release of MvC3. Anyone who purchased the collector’s edition of MvC3 however will not have to pay $5 for each character as the C.E. came with a download voucher for the characters which can be redeemed when they are released on March 15th.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution dated for August 26th

Deus Ex: Human Revolution originally had a release date for sometime this spring but unfortunately the game was pushed back. The reason for the delay was unspoken and there was no new release date given which left fans of the series sitting in the dark and hoping that the game would still arrive this year. Thankfully it seems that Square Enix will be able to get the human revolution on track for a August 23rd release date in the US and August 26th elsewhere.

There will be two versions of the game released for retail purchase. The standard edition will cost $60 on the PS3 and Xbox 360 while the PC version will cost $50 which is more or less the standard but what isn’t standard is the Augmented Edition which runs for $10 more on each version. The Augmented Edition comes with an art book, bonus dvd, a graphic novel and various in-game bonuses. It seems that the delay for Deus Ex will most likely help boost sales and if they take the extra half a year to polish the game it will certainly show in the final product.

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime – multiplayer trailer

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime has been given a brand new multiplayer trailer which aims to show off the four player co-op features in action.

The standout feature of the title is the four player simultaneous co-op which sees the player take on the role of a brand new rookie ghostbuster, part of a team of 4. Rookie Ghostbusters will face the dangers of the eerie world alone or with a ghostbusting team of friends both locally or online through the game’s multiplayer capability. Players will travel through a number of locations in New York City and eliminate the ghostly threat dwelling there.

Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime will be out March 23rd for PC, PSN and XBLA.

Gamestop List new 3DS Bundles priced at $300…

Gamestop appear to be preparing for the Nintendo 3DS launch and have now listed three “bundles” for $299.97 on their website. These are not really actual “bundles” though, as they are just made up of the system, a case, and a launch title. What is more interesting about this story is the titles used for this assortment. Street Fighter IV & Samurai Warriors Chronicles are the games that will be sold with Street Fighter coming with both the Black & Aqua Blue system, and Samurai Warriors with the black console. These are probably the two biggest names for the launch, but it strikes me as odd a bit that Nintendogs + Cats are not seeing the same treatment due to the titles being first party.

There really isn’t too much else to say about these 3DS bundles really, as the price is only around $5 under current MSRP for everything together. If you had plans on grabbing a 3DS with one of these titles though, I guess it couldn’t hurt to get a cheap case on the side by saving a little bit of money in the process.

Pokémon Black & White sell over 1 Million copies in One day…

Nintendo have now released early sales numbers for Pokémon Black & White and previous records have now been shattered. Both titles raked in the most sales of any Pokémon title to date with 1.08 Million copies sold in first day alone, beating out Diamond & Pearl’s record of 780,000. These numbers come as not too much of a surprise for fans of the series, but they do show how wide the appeal of the franchise has become over the years.

Nintendo released this statement on the feat earlier today:

“Longtime Pokémon fans are attracted to the new Pokémon, new battle systems and a new region to explore, while newcomers enjoy the ability to jump in and have fun right away,” said Charlie Scibetta, Nintendo of America’s senior director of Corporate Communications. “These sales numbers illustrate the continued strength of the Nintendo DS family of systems. Already established as the nation’s best-selling video game platform of all time, the installed base of more than 47 million makes it the ideal hand-held for developers to reach a huge gaming-focused target audience.”

If you are still on the fence about getting either title yourself, we recently reviewed Pokémon Black & White and had some GREAT things to say about both, as they are without a doubt two of the best titles the esteemed RPG line has seen to date. I guess the question now though is now that these two mega titles are out, just what do Nintendo have brewing for the series next? I personally would like to see something new for the franchise in terms of the inevitable spin-off and now that this title paid off, maybe something fresh can be worth the risk of creating. Only time will tell on that, but for now fans can bask in the news that Pokémon still has the power to be a heavy contender in the gaming world.

PES 2011 DLC gets release date

The latest batch of PES 2011 DLC  will arrive on March 15th for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC – as confirmed by Pro Evolution Soccer team leader Jon Murphy. The new downloadable content will feature new team line-up updates, new team strips and new football boots for in-game players.

It may seem trivial but anyone who has played a football game of late knows that it is the small details that count, and that developers are striving to make the virtual experience as authentic as possible. The latest strips, boots and line-ups in this up only reiterate this. Will anyone with PES 2011 be picking this up on the 15th of this month then? Let us know below!
