Gears of War 3 To Receive Limited Edition Xbox 360 & Custom made controllers…

I’m a bit surprised this announcement wasn’t mentioned during the Microsoft conference yesterday, but either way  Major Nelson’s blog just confirmed a limited edition Gears of War themed Xbox 360 console and controllers set to launch aside the September 20th release of Gears of War 3.

As you see in the picture above, the console is stunning visually. The console and controllers won’t be the only goodies locked away in this $399.99 box though as a download token for bonus game content will be included that features the Infected Omen Weapon Pack and the Adam Fenix character for use in multiplayer. As stated, “The Infected Omen Weapon Pack gives fan the infected omen skin for use on the five starting weapons”. A 320GB Hard drive will also be included inside the unit along with the standard retail.

Much like the Halo Reach console from last year, the Gears of War 3 designed system will feature start-up and shutdown sounds from the GOW universe. If you are interested, I would advise locking in a pre-order at a participating retailer as this red and black beauty is as advertised, a “limited” release.

Assassin’s Creed Revelations receives an Epic Trailer..

Yes, I used the word “epic”, but I couldn’t think of any other word to describe what we have here. Since debuting on a Game Informer cover a while back, Assassin’s Creed Revelations has been one of the most talked about and anticipated titles this year. With that being said, Ubisoft released a trailer during their E3 showing last night that truly defined the series and instantly cemented Assassin’s Creed: Revelations as a top contender for 2011’s line-up.

This new cinematic trailer for Revelations gives fans a first look at the last chapter in Ezio’s story, with Altair and Desmond scheduled to make appearances as playable characters throughout the game. Judging from the presentation value that went into this clip alone, the Ezio trilogy will be ending with an earth-shattering bang. Altair also makes a brief appearance in the clip, but as of now his motives are unknown in the plot. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is due out November 15th for the Xbox 360, PS3, & PC. Due yourself a huge favor and get a first taste of the game below.

Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 coming 2012

Revealed at E3 2011, this trailer from Ubisoft shows the previously unannounced new adventure in the Brothers in Arms series.

Set in World War II, Brothers in Arms Furious 4 will offer campaign with up to four player co-op, as well as an extensive competitive multiplayer mode. The story follows four fierce and fearless warriors chasing the Führer himself and as well as sounding similar to something from Kung Fu Panda, it marks a slight change of scene for the series which hasn’t had an outing in a while now. The Furious 4 use special weaponry and unexpected combat abilities collapse the experimental Nazi army and stop the Third Reich in its tracks.

The game will be available worldwide for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC in the first half of calendar year 2012.

God of War: Origins Collection Brings Two PSP Classics to the PS3…

It really isn’t a Sony E3 without an appearance from Kratos, who has over time became a mascot of sorts for the company. During the Sony Press Event last night, God of War: Origins Collection was announced which will bring God of War: Chains of Olympus and the somewhat more recent God of War: Ghost of Sparta to the Playstation 3, fully remastered in 1080p and stereoscopic 3-D.

A full list of features for the collection was given shortly after the announcement:

  • Experience the award-winning PSP games – God of War: Ghost of Sparta and God of War: Chains of Olympus in high-definition and on one Blu-ray disc for the first time.
  • This is the very first time PSP titles will be made available on Blu-ray for PlayStation 3 in the US.
  • Fully remastered in 1080p HD and stereoscopic 3D.
  • Full PlayStation Network trophy support.
  • DualShock compatible with rumble support.
  • Dolby 5.1 / DTS surround sound support.
  • Bonus content will include DLC contents from Ghost of SpartaGod of War: Game Directors Live roundtable video and Legionnaire Kratos & Forest of the Forgotten.

Fantastic news for any God of War fan as this fall marks not only the release for God of War: Origins Collection, but also means that every piece of the GOW franchise will be playable on the PS3. I would say that is some pretty awesome news for fans of the series everywhere.

Microsoft’s 2011 E3 Conference – Recap in Photos

Microsoft packed quite a punch this year with their many reveals and trailers shown at E3. From the river of Kinect titles that appear to be taking the device to a larger audience to the huge announcement of Halo 4, this was certainly an E3 where the Xbox had something to prove. Whether or not it was the best showing is still up for debate, but one thing that is for sure is we have a ton of titles to look forward to in the coming year.

MasterAbbott & Mr. Travis “Wolf” Bruno were on hand for the event and snapping away with their cameras, capturing some of the best moments of the presentation as well as attempting to get the number of a few E3 vixens. With that said, lets take a look back at yesterdays events through the eyes of two of Capsule Computer’s finest.

Finally, Halo 4 Launches in 2012. It will be a long wait, but judging from the explosive teaser, the wait will be well worth it.

Thank you for tuning into our coverage for Microsoft’s big E3 event and we have quite a year ahead of us from the green (and purple) wonder. There are plenty more photos below that you can slide through below that reveal some of the highlights not seen above such as The Capsule Computer’s crew streetpassing it up with MS fans and a few of the smaller announcements at the show. Nintendo is next up today and stay tuned for our Sony recap which will be coming soon, once we can get MasterAbbott to recover from his Gears overload anyway. 😀

Far Cry 3 announced at E3 2011

Ubisoft has confirmed the existence of Far Cry 3 in their E3 2011 press conference, complete with a seven minute walkthrough of the gameplay.

If anything, the whopping seven minutes of footage gives a really detailed insight as to the location and visual aspects of the game, and the forest setting results in some good-looking lighting effects from the light passing through the overhead forest canopy. Again, the game is in a tropical island setting, this time around filling the boots of Jason Brody who’s stranded in a savage paradise.

Far Cry 3 will be available for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Windows PC in 2012.

Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest Announced E3 2011

Sony’s conference had alot of movement (pun intended). One of the Move games we got a look at was the medieval themed action game, “Medieval Moves: Deadmund’s Quest”. In “Medieval Moves” you become a skeletal warrior in as you’d imagine, medieval times. The Move controller becomes your sword, bow and something that appears to be a shuriken (how that fits in with medieval times, I do not know.) It’s still a little hazy as to whether this is a continuation of the late great Medieval franchise. Lets hope it’s not and it’s just a large amount of coincidental similarities. Check out some gameplay footage below!

Square Debuts New Trailer for Final Fantasy XIII-2..

With all the announcements and reveals made today, Square want to make sure you keep an eye out for what is looking to be one of the biggest releases in the coming future. With that, I am talking about the sequel to 2010’s Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII-2.

In this clip, we see a direct continuation from the plot of XIII, with Lightning sporting new armor and Sara now being more heavily involved in the plot. As far the actual gameplay goes, not too much has actually changed from the looks of it, which means the debate will probably continue on this arc’s value Final Fantasy series. Either way though, you can’t deny that the clip looks stunning. Check out the brand new E3 trailer below and give us your thoughts in the comments below. Also, MOOGLES!

Ubisoft Reveals Details For The Adventures Of Tintin: The Game

Despite writing for a games website, and not an internationally renowned news paper, I still consider myself to be some what of a renege reporter, with boy scout ethics and a trendy little quiff in my hair. Yes, Tintin and I are truly kindred spirits. It’s no wonder I got so excited hearing about the new Tintin game due to be released this year for Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Windows PC, Nintendo 3DS and Wii.

Based on the upcoming feature film The Adventures of Tintin, directed by Steven Spielberg and produced by Steven Spielberg, Peter Jackson and Kathleen Kennedy, The Adventures of Tintin: The Game will give fans the chance to experience the world of Tintin, reliving key adventures from the series. Developed by Unisoft Montpellier in collaboration with Paramount Digital Entertainment, the game will be based largely on the film, featuring iconic environments such as Captain Haddock’s ship the Karaboudjan and Omar Ben Salaad’s Palace. For more hardcore Tintin fans, loyal to the original text of the book, the game still borrows various elements from Hergé’s original comic books such as, The Crab with the Golden Claws, The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham’s Treasure.

Players are given the choice to partake in the adventures from the movie either on their own or with friends in one of three gameplay modes. The singe-player mode offers a unique blend of platform-style exploration, encompassing puzzles and combat elements along the way. This portion of the game will also include support for Kinect for the Xbox 360 and Playstion Move for the Playstation 3. The game has also tried to capture the collaborative nature of Tintin adventures, offering cooperative challenges featuring classic Tintin characters. Players work together in special multiplayer maps based on the moody dreams of Captain Haddock. For those of you looking for a little extra competition, there is also challenge mode, allowing players to compete with each other for high scores. Make sure you check out the trailer below, it looks to be an awesome game.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time announced for 2012 release

If you read that title and thought it’s about time then you and I would certainly get along. Sony announced today during their E3 press conference that they are finally working on bringing a new Sly Cooper title to the PlayStation 3. Sure they released an HD collection which had all three Sly Cooper titles already on the PS3 but they had never mentioned a fourth Sly Cooper title, until today that is.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time was only teased in a trailer that showed off the usual cel-shaded style that fans love as well as the game’s humor, as Dimitri disguises himself as Sly to steal different things, only to be scolded by an off camera Sly and gang. We’ll certainly be seeing more of Sly Cooper in the coming months and hopefully in the coming few days Sony will show off some more information for the title during the rest of E3.
