Move Fitness announced for next year with teaser trailer

With the creation of the Wii came the Wii Fit and enough exercise games on all three systems across each motion control scheme that you could bench press with all of them and get a decent exercise. But rather than creating dumbbells with all those exercise games you own, Sony has announced that they are going to make a Move fitness game imaginatively titled Move Fitness.

This news comes from Sony’s Gamescom keynote and they provided a small teaser, which you can see below, for the game which showed a number of features which may set it apart from other titles, such as mini-games and exercise which may help you build up a little sweat. They did not announce an exact release date at this time other than some time next year.

Resistance: Burning Skies announced for PS Vita

The expanding of the PlayStation Vita’s game library continues to grow it seems. Sony announced at Gamescom 2011 during their keynote a few new details Nihilistic’s Resistance entry onto the PlayStation Vita. Back when the Vita was announced, teaser footage of a resistance game was shown, but never announced until now.

The game will be titled Resistance: Burning Skies and will be a prequel to Resistance 2. Players will take the role of Tom Riley a man who used to be a fireman before the destruction of his entire country. Thanks to his history as a fireman, Riley apparently carries a fire axe around at all times and can use it as a weapon. There was a brief demo shown during the conference which showed that players could use the touch screen to activate a weapons alternate fire mode. Sounds quite awesome no?

Escape Plan announced for PS Vita

If you were concerned about what games to expect on the PlayStation Vita then you should be happy to hear that at Gamescom 2011, during Sony’s keynote speech they revealed a new and interesting looking title called Escape Plan. From what was shown during the presentation, the title will be a side scrolling game where players must control two characters named Lil and Laarg through traps.

You can see the above image of the two characters, but unfortunately not much information for the title was given at the time of announcement. There is currently no launch date nor was there a developer announced at the time. Still the more Vita games the better in my opinion, especially non-remakes of old titles.

PlayStation 3 receives immediate price drop to $250, $300 for 320 GB models

To close out their Gamescom 2011 keynote speech this year, Sony brought out a bit of surprising news. That the PlayStation 3 would be getting a price drop down to $250 for the 160GB model immediatly after the announcement was made. This means that right now you can go to nearly any store at this moment and pick up 160GB model of the PlayStation 3 for $249.99 in the U.S., €249.99 in Europe, ¥24,980 in Japan and $349.95 in Australia.

The 320GB model will cost $300 in the US and $449.95 in Australia and this announcement is pretty interesting considering it comes nearly to the date with the previous price drop to $299.99 which occurred two years ago. If for whatever reason you haven’t picked up a PlayStation 3 yet, it is now cheaper than ever before to do so.

Not enough is known about Get Up And Dance to ask if it can compete with the likes of Just Dance 3 on the horizon, but it’s being made, true to the name, as a social game which encourages everyone to get involved, even if you do dance like a fish out of water.

It arrives on PS3 (supporting PS Move) and Nintendo Wii on November 4th, 2011.

inFamous 2: Festival of Blood announced for October as standalone release

Feel like inFamous 2 needed a little bit of a vampire influence? So does Sucker Punch because they have just announced that there will be a new game released on the PlayStation Network in October. Well, it isn’t a new game per-say but it is going to take a whole new twist on the inFamous 2 storyline.

New Marais has been infested with vampires and Cole has been bitten by one of them. He must then find the head vampire before the end of the night or else he will be a vampire forever. Of course there hasn’t been any footage of the game released yet so we have no footage of vampires being electrocuted to death. Then again, can vampires even be killed with electricity? During the announcement the game was billed as a brand new downloadable game, so it will likely be a standalone PSN title.

Mass Effect 3 trailer brings some combat footage

In the latest trailer for Mass Effect 3 we are shown off plenty of combat, though the trailer itself only says that it will be Part 1. However many parts of course wasn’t said but what is shown off in the trailer is a very large amount of new combat mechanics, including a melee attack and squad leadership abilities.

The focus of the trailer is obviously on the leadership abilities as we hear the generic looking Shepherd command his crew to go behind the boxes or attack the enemies. With the Kinect capability in Mass Effect 3, expect to be yelling a lot of orders at your TV to make your crew do what you want them to do. I personally can’t wait until next year when the game is released as well as for Part 2 of this video set.

Bodycount demo now available on Xbox 360; PS3 soon

Despite there not being a whole lot of coverage for the game, Bodycount is still going to be released in the next couple of weeks for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. To help build up a little bit of a following they have decided to release a demo for Bodycount today on the Xbox Live Marketplace. For unknown reasons the PlayStation 3 demo has not been released at this time, though will be sometime before release.

Players will enter into the early parts of the African missions and be dropped into a warzone. They will have a large arsenal of weapons at their disposal including a Super 90 shotgun and plenty of explosives. Players can earn intel by getting high scores through kills and other things. Also, what game can’t be loved when it has exploding bullets? Bodycount will be released on August 30th in North America for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. You can add the demo to your Xbox Download Queue here.

Prototype 2 evolves into awesomeness with latest trailer

Prototype 2 has received a whole lot of teaser videos and when we first saw that the newest trailer was called the Evolution of Awesome we thought that perhaps things would change. Little did we know we were very wrong. Rather than seeing something fancy or over the top, we are only given the Flight of the Valkyries to listen to as we see slow motion footage of James Heller about to destroy a helicopter.

Prototype 2 still won’t be out until April 24th of next year so they have a whole lot of time to keep building up the hype for the game, though the eventual showing of legitimate gameplay footage could always be for the better. Still… with the pedigree of the enjoyable first installment to the series, there is little doubt that Prototype 2 won’t be just as fun, if not more.

DmC Devil May Cry gets its first gameplay trailer

Capcom revealed their first gameplay footage for DmC Devil May Cry. Despite the huge amount of fan controversy over the look that the main character is going to have, Capcom is going to retain the whole new looking Dante that is half angel and half demon. In the gameplay footage we see both his holy and dark side used in combat.

The combat itself of course, hasn’t changed much from your standard Devil May Cry formula with plenty of juggling combat and extensive melee moves which will destroy any enemies in your path, Catch the gameplay footage below and the new Ninja Theory developed DmC Devil May Cry sometime next year.
