Black Ops’ Rezurrection trailer takes us to the moon labs and back

The people at Activision and Treyarch take their zombie killing seriously. They even have a whole lab designed to test zero gravity conditions on zombie anatomy and physiology. You can see this lab in the latest live action trailer released for Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Rezurrection DLC which you can catch below.

The live action part of the trailer is actually quite amusing at first, and then we finally see how things ended up going south so fast. Didn’t anyone tell these guys that zombies aren’t supposed to run? Either way, there is also some gameplay footage at the end of the video as well as some new brief names for the remade maps of World at War: swamp, night, asylum, factory, and the new moon. The DLC will be out next week for the Xbox 360 and sometime in the future for the PS3 and PC, and it will cost Activision’s usual lovely price of $14.99 or 1200 MSP.

Xbox Live now running at 35 million users

There are a lot of people who use Xbox Live, that much is easy to assume as the Xbox 360 has the most active online userbase of this console generation. But exactly how many people are using the service, that is the question. Well, according to EMEA Robin Burrowes, the “audience growth is up to 35 million people globally across those 35 countries on Xbox Live itself.”

He said this in an aside to Joystiq and he also explained that this large boost in users is thanks to nine new countries being enabled to use the Xbox Live service. He also mentioned that Microsoft is currently earning more money from online transactions such as through XBLA titles and music than the subscription service itself. Unfortunately he would not go into detail as to how many of the 35 million users actually paid for Xbox Live Gold.

From Dust PC port littered with bugs and numerous problems

Although the quite popular From Dust has been a success on the consoles, it has yet to be released to PC gamers. Well that is until recently when Ubisoft released From Dust as a port to the PC gaming community. There is a slight problem however with this port, as reported by RockPaperShotgun.

First, much to the bane of PC gamers, Ubisoft requires that every time you launch From Dust on your computer you will have to be connected to the internet. You can disconnect after launching the game, but it requires internet connection to start. There is also apparently a capped frame rate, a limited amount of resolution choices for windowed mode, no anti-aliasing and apparently plenty of bugs. All of these problems are the sign of a pitiful effort to port a game to another platform which is quite a shame considering how well From Dust was on the Xbox 360.

The Baconing sizzles on XBLA on August 31st

Deathspank may already have two games under his thong but this time around he wants to have something a little bit different. Something involving a little bacon, or a lot of bacon in this case. Though PlayStation 3 owners will be getting the game on August 30th ahead of the rest of the gaming community, Xbox 360 owners won’t have to wait long to experience Deathspank’s bacon and thong goodness.

In fact, as revealed today by Hothead Games to Joystiq, the title will be released on August 31st to the XBLA. That means in a little under two weeks, players can join Deathspank on his third adventure through the crazy and often hilarious world that Hothead Games has created.

Dark Souls combat trailer released for Gamescom

You know that when a game’s official website URL is PrepareToDie.com that the game it is for is going to be quite difficult. Though anyone who played the game Demon Souls should already know the difficulty level people can expect when they tackle Dark Souls when it is released early in October.

Though perhaps a decent amount of combat gameplay footage would be the best way to show gamers what to expect? Well Namco Bandai and FromSoftware have released just that from Gamescom today. In their latest trailer we are shown combat against many different types of creatures both large and normal sized. The trailer itself is below, and the game will be available to not only PlayStation 3 users, but finally Xbox 360 owners as well.

PowerUp Heroes to be bundled with origin comic, new trailer released

Today for Gamescom Ubisoft has released a new trailer for PowerUp Heroes, their newest Kinect fighting title. When the Earth is under threat of destruction yet again, who can answer the call when all other heroes are out on vacation? Well, your avatar of course. The trailer which you can catch below shows off plenty of gameplay, which makes the title look quite impressive.

The game seems to feature a power acquisition mechanic similar to Mega Man, where you will obtain the powers of your enemy after defeating them. In a press release from Ubisoft they also revealed that PowerUp Heroes will be bundled with a comic book that will reveal the “secret origins of the main character, Volta.” PowerUp Heroes will be released exclusively to those who own a Kinect and an Xbox 360 on October 18th.

His Adventure Gets An Update

Pezzini Games have introduced a free update for their game ‘His Adventure’ for iOS devices. This new update addresses a few issues we found in our review of the game, so it’s a very welcome update! The update includes the following new additions:

-Short tutorial on basics.
-New control types for those with different tastes. (found in options)
-Corrected difficulty issues on some levels.

‘His Adventure’ is one of the most challenging games I’ve played in a while so Im glad to hear it’s a little easier now! The most interesting update however is the inclusion of a new control scheme. In the options menu, players now get a choice. There is ‘Normal’ where the platform only follows just your finger so you can see it, and will jump to where ever you touch, and the ‘relative’ option, where the platform will move relative to where your fingers position on the screen. A rather interesting update, that dramatically changes the game play! Everyone who has ‘His Adventure’ should definitely check it out!

Tappin That Episode 3 – Castle Crashers

Episode 3 – Castle Crashers

What is one of the most fun xbox live arcade games? Well I would say Castle Crashers, and luckily my boyfriend, Spike seems to agree. Therefore this week’s choice was indeed the great indie game, Castle Crashers by The Behemoth.

Spike as the grey knight and Aura, me, as the orange fire knight battled with all our talent, or lack of, in this cute little game. Even though the main part of this game is indeed a co-operative game, we somehow did have a part where we were fighting against each other. If you’re wondering how… well you will just have to check out the video.

First Footage of the Luchadores Gang for Saints Row: The Third

THQ have given us our first look at the Luchadores gang for the third installment of Saints Row, fueling the “insane” nature of the game. The video features gameplay and cut-scene footage of the gang and Killbane, the head of the Luchadores.

If you’re a fan of wrestling, this gang and what is presumably going to be a few wrestling based missions will be a welcome addition, and even for those who aren’t, this looks pretty impressive.

Have a look at “The Walking Apocolypse” video below and tell us what you think of Killbane and his Luchadores!

Paradox Interactive Reveals the Secret of Project Postman to be The War of the Roses

After a long time waiting, Paradox Interactive and Developer Fatshark have finally released the details of the guarded secret known only as Project Postman at this year’s Gamescom.

The newly revealed title “The War of the Roses” is an action packed IP that is set in 15th century war revenged England.  A team based multiplayer experience; skills will be tested as you are thrown into the thick of battle from armies armed with some of the traditional medieval weapons (and who doesn’t love a good longbow?)

Boasting both an extensive single player campaign and a thorough multiplayer experience, the graphics look top notch in the recently released announcement trailer which can be watched below.

More information about this upcoming title can be found on their website www.paradoxplaza.com/games/war-of-the-roses.

Players can pick up their swords and dive into the experience in 2012.
