Ubisoft Announces Playstation Vita Titles

Earlier today, publishing giant Ubisoft announced it’s launch line-up for the upcoming Playstation Vita handheld device. These titles seem like definitive Ubisoft properties and should be an indicator of the quality of titles Ubisoft plan to bring to the handheld unit.

The titles are as follows – Assassin’s Creed, Rayman Origins, LuminesTM, AsphaltTM, Dungeon Hunter Alliance and Michael Jackson the Experience.

“With its processing power, dual tactile screens and cameras, PS Vita allows creators like Ubisoft new and unique opportunities to develop innovative games,”said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer of Ubisoft.  “We’ve got a strong and varied line-up that will offer fun and immersion to all audiences of the PS Vita.”

The developer diary focuses on the AI and handling improvements in the game, alongside work-in-progress gameplay footage. It stars Chief Games Designer Stephen Hood, Senior Producer Paul Jeal and Formula 1 test driver Anthony Davidson who is embedded into the team as Technical Consultant to ensure the game is an authentic F1 experience.

Heroes of Might and Magic 6 Gamescom Trailer 2011

Coming out of Gamescom 2011, is the trailer for the up-coming Might and Magic title: Heroes of Might and Magic VI. The trailer is courtesy of Ubisoft and showcases an amazingly cinematic battle between heroes and their armies.

Heroes of Might and Magic VI takes place 500 years beofre the events of Heroes V, making it one of the more historic (lore wise) games in the M&M franchise.

A legendary Archangel General, killed during the war of the Elder races, is resurrected. Under the cover of preparations for an upcoming Demon invasion, he plots to recover his powers and take control of Ashan while eradicating his ancient enemies. He underestimates, however, the power of the all-too-human Griffin dynasty. The destiny of these Griffin heroes will be determined by our players.

These BurgerTime World Tour Screens are hot off the Grill!

Konami and MonkeyPaw Games have been rather quiet since E3 concerning the upcoming BurgerTime World Tour, which is set to revive the classic with brand new art and gameplay styles in a shiny HD format. Thankfully, Konami brought a nice batch of screenshots for the game to Gamescom, and while we still don’t have an official release date, these screens are pretty meaty (quite literally) and introduce us to the many foods that could be the death of Peter Pepper.

With enemies baring names such “Habba De Niro” and “Frank Furter”, this re-imagining looks to be bringing quite a charming update to the Data East Classic, and hopefully BurgerTime World Tour will live up to it’s predecessors when it is finally released a bit later this year for the WiiWare, PSN, XBLA, and PC. For now though, get a good glance at the 30 new screenshots down below.

New Goldeneye: Reloaded Trailer introduces us to MI6 Ops Mode…

Activision brought quite a few titles to show off at Gamescom, but the one that caught my attention was Goldeneye: Reloaded, which is set to launch for the Xbox 360 and PS3 this fall. As many of you know, this release is to be a lot like the Wii version, but with “refined” graphics and a few extras. One of those extras in this “Reloaded” version is the MI6 Ops Mode. In this single player mode, players will have to complete a various set of missions across many familiar locales that include the likes of Assault, Elimination, Stealth and Defense objectives.

To show how this mode will actually work, Activision debuted a new trailer at Gamescom, showing Bond defending checkpoints and using stealth to take out all the surrounding enemies. You can watch the new trailer for yourself below and make sure you crank up the volume, as the trademark tune blares throughout the clip to provide a bit of nostalgia to those of us who grew up on the original.

Kirby’s Mass Attack & Return To Dreamland Dated for Europe…

Everybody’s favorite pink fluff has quite a busy year ahead of him, with Kirby’s Mass Attack set to launch on the Nintendo DS and Kirby: Return to Dreamland headed to the Nintendo Wii. Now the first thing we should clear up is the whole name situation with the Nintendo Wii Kirby title, that was reportedly called “Kirby: Return to Dreamland” at Comic-con by a Nintendo representative. While this name may indeed be the North American title, Nintendo of Europe are labeling this game Kirby’s Adventure Wii.

Nintendo of Europe have also given dates to both as of today, with Kirby set to make his fourth appearance on the Nintendo DS with Kirby Mass Attack on October 28th, and Kirby’s Adventure Wii launching in “December 2011”, with no specific day listed as of yet. I will say North America usually get Kirby titles a couple months in advance, as they did with Epic Yarn, so hopefully Nintendo of America will give us something more official soon enough in that area. Either way though, it is a great year to be a Kirby fan, so pardon me while I fanboy out a bit at the thought of being just months away from both of these titles.

Mass Effect 3 Femshep Votes Round Two

Mass Effect fans, it is time for the second round of voting for the female version of Commander Shepard featured in Mass Effect 3. As we’ve previosuly noticed, the longer-haired FemShep had one the first phase of voting; so that makes this round about the colour of her hair.

So make sure you have your say in the votes by liking the photo of your favorite edition of the female Commander Shepard. For those of you who don’t know much about these contests, they are held on the official facebook page for Mass Effect 3, linked below.

Here at Capsule Computers, we’re in love with the red-haired version and would love to hear about which you think is the best looking. So let us know in the comments below.

Persson Challenges Bethesda To Quake III

0

Usually when there is a trademark dispute, the two parties go to court and a judge determines the outcome. That will be no exception when it comes to Bethesda and the creator of Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson. They are currently embroiled over the use of the word “Scrolls” in a game being developed my Mojang Studios, which was founded by Persson. However, Persson believes that there should be another way to settle it.

A Quake III deathmatch.

“I am serious, by the way,” the Minecraft creator said by way of coda.

The premise is simple. Persson suggested that three players represent both side in a 20 minute deathmatch over two levels, both chosen by the two parties. If Mojang is victorious, then Bethesda drops the lawsuit and it would send a message to them that trying to own a word is not a good idea. It Bethesda prevails, then the game “Scrolls” will be renamed into “something you’re [Bethesda] fine with.”

It is an interesting idea, but is it the right idea? Shout out below, we would like to know the opinion of our audience.

New WWE ’12 Video Showcasing Predator Technology

A must watch for all fans eagerly awaiting the release of WWE ’12 game. The video shows some comparisons between Smackdown vs. Raw 2011 and game-play from WWE ’12, and boy does it look better.

The moves do look a lot more smooth than previous games and you have to love the ability for Rey to hit the 619 followed by a moonsault all the while Cena is doing his jig for the five knuckle shuffle. I have been very skeptical about the game so far but this video has definitely swayed me towards believing that this actually could finally be the game that WWE fans have been waiting for.

Check it out for yourself below.
