Star Fox 64 3D trailer shows off the Landmaster and Blue Marine vehicles

While the most common vehicle you will think of when you hear the words Star Fox is the Arwing. The Arwing is the signature vehicle of the Star Fox series and is the vehicle you will be using for about 90% of Star Fox 64 3D. But did you know that there is also the Landmaster tank and the Blue Marine submarine that you will be using as well?

Today Nintendo released a new video for Star Fox 64 3D which focuses on the game’s special vehicles which will be used in special missions and will control similar to the Arwing itself. Does it lower my level as a gamer if I admit that I never have heard of the Blue Marine submarine before? Either way, catch the trailer below.

Portal 2 DLC arriving sometime mid-September

For those who have been following Portal 2, then you should remember that people have been expecting Valve to release some Portal 2 DLC sometime this summer. Unfortunately that hasn’t happened yet but don’t worry, Valve didn’t forget about it, they just are going to release it as far into the Summer season as they can.

Valve marketing director Doug Lombardi spoke with Kotaku at Gamescom and there he said that the DLC will be released in mid-September which is “technically summer.” The DLC will be released free to anyone who owns Portal 2 and will include new maps, leaderboards, and challenge modes. Portal 2 already is a likely Game of the Year candidate for most places that hand out those awards, and this free DLC is only helping to prove that fact.

Mojang announces Cobalt a third party title developed by Oxeye

Whenever the name Mojang is said, people immediately think of the game known as Minecraft which has become a black hole of time devouring goodness so popular that Mojang can now publish titles for other smaller studios. Such is the case with Cobalt, a game developed by Oxeye Game Studios which is best described as an action title which focuses on “running, jumping, rolling, shooting, throwing, dancing, hacking, rolling, flying, sliding, climbing, looting, deflecting, racing, piñata-ing, passing, scoring… and even more rolling.”

Don’t believe us? Well trailer was released alongside this game announcement which shows off a lot of different gameplay footage as well as a rough release window of the end of this year for PC, Mac and even Linux. Catch Cobalt’s strange but interesting looking trailer below.

Elevator Action Deluxe reaches PlayStation 3’s floor on August 30th, new screenshots inside

A game called Elevator Action Deluxe is always going to seem a bit strange at first, but Taito is going to stay as true as they can to the original source material. The PlayStation Network exclusive is going to be quite similar to the original game, only receiving better graphics and a few new gameplay modes, but otherwise keeping much of what fans originally loved.

The game will include new weapons, high speed elevators, offline multiplayer modes such as deathmatch and competitive modes. Andriasang reports that the game will be out on August 30th in North America and August 31st everywhere else for $9.99, £7.99 and €9.99 depending on your currency. Black Ops’ Rezurrection trailer takes us to the moon labs and back

The people at Activision and Treyarch take their zombie killing seriously. They even have a whole lab designed to test zero gravity conditions on zombie anatomy and physiology. You can see this lab in the latest live action trailer released for Call of Duty: Black Ops’ Rezurrection DLC which you can catch below.

The live action part of the trailer is actually quite amusing at first, and then we finally see how things ended up going south so fast. Didn’t anyone tell these guys that zombies aren’t supposed to run? Either way, there is also some gameplay footage at the end of the video as well as some new brief names for the remade maps of World at War: swamp, night, asylum, factory, and the new moon. The DLC will be out next week for the Xbox 360 and sometime in the future for the PS3 and PC, and it will cost Activision’s usual lovely price of $14.99 or 1200 MSP.

Xbox Live now running at 35 million users

There are a lot of people who use Xbox Live, that much is easy to assume as the Xbox 360 has the most active online userbase of this console generation. But exactly how many people are using the service, that is the question. Well, according to EMEA Robin Burrowes, the “audience growth is up to 35 million people globally across those 35 countries on Xbox Live itself.”

He said this in an aside to Joystiq and he also explained that this large boost in users is thanks to nine new countries being enabled to use the Xbox Live service. He also mentioned that Microsoft is currently earning more money from online transactions such as through XBLA titles and music than the subscription service itself. Unfortunately he would not go into detail as to how many of the 35 million users actually paid for Xbox Live Gold.

From Dust PC port littered with bugs and numerous problems

Although the quite popular From Dust has been a success on the consoles, it has yet to be released to PC gamers. Well that is until recently when Ubisoft released From Dust as a port to the PC gaming community. There is a slight problem however with this port, as reported by RockPaperShotgun.

First, much to the bane of PC gamers, Ubisoft requires that every time you launch From Dust on your computer you will have to be connected to the internet. You can disconnect after launching the game, but it requires internet connection to start. There is also apparently a capped frame rate, a limited amount of resolution choices for windowed mode, no anti-aliasing and apparently plenty of bugs. All of these problems are the sign of a pitiful effort to port a game to another platform which is quite a shame considering how well From Dust was on the Xbox 360.

The Baconing sizzles on XBLA on August 31st

Deathspank may already have two games under his thong but this time around he wants to have something a little bit different. Something involving a little bacon, or a lot of bacon in this case. Though PlayStation 3 owners will be getting the game on August 30th ahead of the rest of the gaming community, Xbox 360 owners won’t have to wait long to experience Deathspank’s bacon and thong goodness.

In fact, as revealed today by Hothead Games to Joystiq, the title will be released on August 31st to the XBLA. That means in a little under two weeks, players can join Deathspank on his third adventure through the crazy and often hilarious world that Hothead Games has created.

Dark Souls combat trailer released for Gamescom

You know that when a game’s official website URL is PrepareToDie.com that the game it is for is going to be quite difficult. Though anyone who played the game Demon Souls should already know the difficulty level people can expect when they tackle Dark Souls when it is released early in October.

Though perhaps a decent amount of combat gameplay footage would be the best way to show gamers what to expect? Well Namco Bandai and FromSoftware have released just that from Gamescom today. In their latest trailer we are shown combat against many different types of creatures both large and normal sized. The trailer itself is below, and the game will be available to not only PlayStation 3 users, but finally Xbox 360 owners as well.

PowerUp Heroes to be bundled with origin comic, new trailer released

Today for Gamescom Ubisoft has released a new trailer for PowerUp Heroes, their newest Kinect fighting title. When the Earth is under threat of destruction yet again, who can answer the call when all other heroes are out on vacation? Well, your avatar of course. The trailer which you can catch below shows off plenty of gameplay, which makes the title look quite impressive.

The game seems to feature a power acquisition mechanic similar to Mega Man, where you will obtain the powers of your enemy after defeating them. In a press release from Ubisoft they also revealed that PowerUp Heroes will be bundled with a comic book that will reveal the “secret origins of the main character, Volta.” PowerUp Heroes will be released exclusively to those who own a Kinect and an Xbox 360 on October 18th.
