Galilei-Donna-Pic-01

I’m always excited to hear about original anime shows being announced in the current and upcoming seasons, it’s interesting to see what can be created without having any previous material to work with or compare to. One upcoming original anime to look out for is Galilei Donna, which will be airing in October on Fuji TVs Noitamina programming schedule.

The anime is based around three sisters; Hazuki, Hozuki and Kazuki Ferrari, who are descendants of Galileo Galilei and are on the international wanted list (at the time of writing no further info has been given concerning the synopsis).

The anime recently launched a twitter page and an official website, a Galilei Donna wallpaper was also given as a special gift to everyone who downloaded the Noitamina app for Android and IOS. Click here to check out the official website.

The series will be produced by A-1 Pictures and directed by Yasumi Umetsu, who was a key animator for various animes including Akira, Lupin the 3rd: Dead or Alive and Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. The character designs for the original anime were done by Shingo Adachi (character designer for Sword Art Online).

Namco Bandai Games have released a brand new trailer for their upcoming Saint Seiya fighting game, Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers. The new trailer showcases the crash hot action on show in Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers, it is enough to make you scream ‘Saint Seiya!’ at the top of your lungs while smashing out a killer riff on the ole’ electric guitar, or just watching it quietly I suppose.

Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers is said to be a straight up fighting game unlike the previous Saint Seiya game, Saint Seiya Sanctuary Battle, a Dynasty Warriors styled brawler. Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers will be exclusive to the PlayStation 3 and is confirmed for a release in PAL regions. Unfortunately a North American release has been ruled out.

Check out the trailer for Saint Seiya Brave Soldiers below and let your cosmos burn with the power of a thousand exploding suns, or just you know, watch it I suppose.

You may remember hearing the name DanganRonpa lately and if you have, you likely know that there is an anime adaptation of the game currently airing in Japan. However this isn’t about the anime, it is about the game itself and the fact that the game is actually heading to North America.

At Anime Expo 2013 NIS America announced that they will be bringing the first DanganRonpa title over under the name DanganRonpa: Trigger Happy Havoc and they are planning on releasing it sometime in early 2014. Players take the role of Makoto Naegi who has been accepted into Hope’s Peak Academy. However when his classmates and himself are caught by an evil mastermind ready to kill everyone there, players must try and unmask the villain, but also avoiding possibly being killed by his other classmates.

In the title players must try and investigate various murders that are being committed by students within the school as they try to escape with their own lives, build trust with other members of your class and more. Expect more details about the game within the next few weeks.

Back when Demon Gaze was first announced for release in Japan, I thought that it would be a fitting title for release in the West. However as various events passed by and the game was released in Japan, my hopes were diminishing. Thankfully NIS America has announced during Anime Expo 2013 that they are planning on releasing Demon Gaze in the West sometime in early 2014.

The title is a dungeon crawling RPG that follows a character named Oz (name change is possible when game starts) who has lost all memories of his past. The world he lives in is full of various dungeons and monsters, but he must still try and make his way through the world in an effort to learn more about himself. The title features various dungeon progress systems that allow dungeons to evolve the more you accomplish within them, HD illustrations, customizable party members, touchscreen functionality and of course, fan service that hopefully won’t be censored out.

Great news fans of the Tales game series. It seems that Namco Bandai is still confident enough in the series that they don’t even have to wait until the first game in the series comes out before announcing the localization of its sequel.

What am I talking about you ask? Well today at Japan Expo in Paris, France, Hideo Baba announced to those in attendance that Tales of Xillia 2 is going to be released in both Norht America and Europe sometime next year. Considering there is still a month before Tales of Xillia 1 is released in the West, this will likely boost sales due to the knowledge that fan’s won’t be left in the dark about the continuation of the story.

The Neon Alley service has been growing ever since the company debuted it on the PlayStation 3 last year. Not only have a number of great series, including many from Aniplex of America, been added to the line-up but the number of platforms it is available on has been growing.

Now during Anime Expo 2013 Viz Media announced that they have just launched Neon Alley for PCs and Macs and they have also announced a new feature that will allow users to check out episodes they may have missed, sort of like an “On Demand” service that will help the streaming service grow from simply something similar to an anime channel to something more.

Also announced during their panel was the fact that Puella Magi Madoka Magica will also be available for streaming on Neon Alley in the future, which follows the previous announcement that Magi will also be added to the service.
