The flow of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle videos and information never seems to stop and while we’re getting less of it the more the weeks go on we’re still getting little nuggets of goodness here and there. This week Namco Bandai Games have begun streaming two small yet action-packed commercials for the game, they don’t show much and what they do show is what we’ve already seen before, but they’re still cool none the less. It was only just announced by Namco Bandai Games that consumers have already placed more than 500,000 pre-orders for the game.
It is going to be developed by CyberConnect 2, much like a great deal of other anime games, and will feature characters from every single generation of JoJo. Copies are set for shipping on the 29th of August of this year and will be released on the PS3. Alongside some first-day DLC, that will come with the first batch of copies, which unlock the character Yoshikage Kira, there will also be a pack called the Gold Experience Box which is set to contain a whole bunch of incredible goodies which you can see by clicking on the link above. Go ahead and check out the two commercials for the game below and start getting excited because it’s going to be a wild ride!
In the last decade hundreds of anime have come and gone, but exceptionally few have been more iconic or influential than Kyoto Animation‘s The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Originally a light novel written by Nagaru Tanigawa and illustrated by Shakugan no Shana‘s Noizi Ito, this sensational series has spawned an anime adaptation, a movie, and 2 separate manga serializations. Not even taking into account the staggering amount of spin-off series Haruhi has influenced, the domineering wave of Haruhi-ism has spread far and wide across the globe, making her the face of anime for a generation.
It is unfortunate then that despite the ongoing continuation of the original light novel series, the last remaining manga serialization is going to be coming to a close next month. The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya has been running in Shōnen Ace since November 2005 and has been collected into 19 volumes in its 8 years.
Rumours of an anime continuation have been thrown around for years to the point where it is almost impossible to know what is true and what is not until an announcement comes out of Kyoto Animation or whichever company decides to pick it up. With enough light novel content to easily make another season and interest in the series still extremely high even after several years the possibility is always there. However, until that day it remains just a pipe dream, but rest assured that if ever such a momentous day did arrive you would hear about it here in our Anime News section.
After the huge surge in popularity surrounding the A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Railgun series with the recent airing of Railgun season 2 it seems that another addition to the franchise is in the works. A Certain Scientific Accelerator looks to begin serialization in Dengeki Daioh starting in December as a new story within the Raildex universe. Little has been announced about the story, but it appears to follow the story of Accelerator presumably inbetween arcs, unless it is a spinoff of course.
Accelerator first appeared in A Certain Magical Index as the second scientific antagonist. Since his initial appearance in Index he has made frequent appearances in both franchises and is one of the few consistent characters bridging the two series despite being set in the same universe.
Further information on this series will hopefully come to attention when/if it is officially announced on the 27th. It will be confirmed in our Manga News section if this leak is legitimate.

As we’ve seen before with Colette, Namco Bandai are releasing trailers featuring specific characters from Tales of Symphonia and Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. The latest character to be highlighted happens to be the female ninja who was sent to assassinate Colette only to have a change of heart and assist the group in their journey.
I’m talking of course about Sheena Fujibayashi. You can check out the video below to see her in action and keep an eye out for Tales of Symphonia Chronicles when it is released in the West sometime in 2014 exclusively for the PlayStation 3.
As Tecmo Koei announced yesterday, Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate will feature 231 costumes on disc, a major upgrade from the game’s original 114 costumes. Today the Japanese branch of the company released a new trailer showing off some of the new costumes that will be in the game, which appear to be race queen outfits for the female members of the roster.
The video can be seen below while the game itself, which features not only new costumes but also more playable characters, more gameplay modes and plenty of other adjustments, will hit store shelves in the West sometime in September for the PS3 and 360.
For many of you, the name Steve Ballmer may not ring a bell. However he is the decade long CEO of Microsoft and it appears that he will now be on his way out. In a message sent to his employees Ballmer said that “There is never a perfect time for this type of transition, but now is the right time.”
Once a replacement is found, Ballmer will be leaving Microsoft. As for who will be making the decision to choose Ballmer’s replacement, a committee including Bill Gates and many others have been organized to see who will take his place. In a rather interesting sign of the times, perhaps thanks to the Xbox One’s initial issues, Microsoft’s stock actually rose a few percent as this news was revealed.
Whenever fans of a game or show like a character enough, they’ll occasionally create an outfit to cosplay as that character. However to craft your very own real-life suit of armor takes things to a whole new level. In an effort to promote Dark Souls II, Namco Bandai commissioned a professional blacksmith to create a real suit of armor based off of the armor that the warrior has been wearing in all of Dark Souls II‘s promo material so far.
The full seven minute video can be seen below. As for the game itself, it is set to be released on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 in March 2014.
