Microids continues to explore real historical events through the medium of video games and this time they have their sights on the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy. The real archives gathered on the case will be released to the public in 2017, so in Hidden Files: Echoes of JFK, the player investigates on a case parallel to the president’s murder. As special agent Jane Sully, the player is sent by the FBI’s boss to resolve the mystery around the death of journalist Jack Olsen who was himself investigating on JFK’s case.
The game itself is an interactive investigation where players must solve puzzles and complete mini games to advance the story and solve the case. Players will have to use their investigative powers and various skills to hack computers, examine print and even be involved in gunplay when the time comes. For historical buffs, they will have fun tracking down fifty pieces of historical information on the real JFK case as they progress through the game. Classic adventure game tropes such as using your inventory to intereact with certain objects in the scene are also included.

An announcement regarding Digimon was teased early last week and it seems as though we’ve finally gotten the news, I know a lot of you Digimon fans have been hankering for some sweet new Digimon-related news and here it is: V-Jump Magazine have revealed that a brand-new Digimon game titled “Digimon Story: Cyber Truth” is in the works and will be released on the PS-Vita. Nothing in-depth about this game has come to the surface as of yet though what we do know is that it will be a training RPG, much like almost every other Digimon game, and will take place in Japan in the near future.
The game is also said to feature some real world locations from around Japan which is very suiting considering this seems to be a title that is a Japan-exclusive. There are no images nor footage of the game in action but the first trailer is said to première this weekend at the big Jump Festa event so keep an eye out on the site for that one. The game is slated for a 2015 release and I can guarantee we’ll be hearing a lot about the game in the coming year so stick around.

A couple weeks ago, at this point in time, Namco Bandai Games released news of a brand-new Naruto game to be released on the PlayStation 3 sometime in the coming year; Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm Revolution. What came with that news was the image of two odd-looking silhouettes that, while closely resembling that of the star character Naruto, no body really knew exactly who are what the character could possibly be. I, for one, speculated that it was some type of “dummy” character, I never actually expected it to be as cool and crazy as this: A Robot Naruto.
The new character was just revealed and it has actually made me excited for the next title in the Naruto game franchise. It seems as though the character, like most other characters in the series, has an awakened form where they’re a great deal more powerful and act as some bad news for your opponent.
The awakened version of this Naruto is a 3-tailed version of the Kyubi-Naruto that we’ve all seen in every game so far and throughout the series, the final transformation is a huge Mecha-Kurama that seems as though it would be more suited in a generation of Digimon than that of a Naruto game. All in all this character is looking fantastic and I bet it’s given a lot of Naruto fans just another reason to buy this Naruto game.
Ace Of Diamond Episode 9 – With Chagrin in His Heart
There is an air of change in this episode of Ace of Diamond. With the truth of Chris now revealed, Eijun sees him in an entirely different light. On the flip side of that, Chris begins to open up to Eijun and even start pushing him in the right direction. With that, it looks like our diamond in the rough is in good hands with Chris, as Furuya looked to be with Miyuki. However while both Eijun and Furuya have risen to great heights, we now see them fall to great lows.
In baseball an ace must have something special about them, something that unites the whole team under their power. When Chris gets Eijun to pitch to him, he tells him that Furuya’s strength is his power and that Tanba’s power lies in his control. He leaves Eijun with something to ponder, what exactly is his strength? What is Eijun’s ace ability?
This is a critical component of the game that Eijun has really overlooked thus far. He needs something that sets himself apart from the other pitchers, but he still remains a diamond in the rough, not yet ready to shine. Furuya on the other hand is clearly shining already, however he is a diamond on the verge of breaking. He continues to push himself too hard and Coach Kataoka bans him for two weeks, exiling him to the second string until he can learn to take care of himself. Here we see both Eijun and Furuya hitting rock bottom. Both are once again on the same level, both down and out, both looking to rise up to the first string.
One of the things that has been rather interesting about Ace of Diamond is that we have yet to see any matches of significance outside of Seidou Academy. After 9 episodes, there hasn’t been any rival teams for Seidou to tackle, rather the rivalry has been thoroughly ingrained into the psyche of the team members themselves. Spots in the first string are something to die for at Seidou and it seems that for the mean time we will be focusing on the inner workings of Seidou and its team.
This is of course a brilliant decision by the original mangaka because it allows us to explore the team dynamics and understand the philosophy of these players and the goals they each individually hold. It makes it all the more important when they finally enter a tournament stage and begin facing against real opponents. By that point the characters and team of Seidou will be more than well-developed and the stakes will be higher and tensions felt strongly.
As far as Ace of Diamond goes, it is a special breed of sports anime through and through. Instead of being a match of the week style sports anime, we are instead witnessing a series about the things that go on behind the scenes of the games, the things that these players struggle with off the field and it is nothing short of compelling. Characters like Chris are highly realistic and his struggle in particular is one that many sportsmen have had to face over the years. It is this sense of realism that underpins Ace of Diamond that really makes it something special.
This isn’t your normal sports anime and this episode is proof of that. What other sports anime out their would do an episode like this? We see both of our rookies reach great heights and fall to great lows in one episode. There isn’t another sports anime out there that would be able to pull that off without feeling disjointed, but Ace of Diamond is just rapid fire energy and so much can happen in the span of 23 minutes that you’ll feel like waiting 7 days for another hit is justified. That is what makes Ace of Diamond so damn good.
The Pokemon Company International, Game Freak and Nintendo are very excited to announce that a special event regarding the mystical time-travelling Pokemon Celebi will be held in conjunction with the release of the next big advance in the Pokemon franchise; the Pokemon Bank.

With the release of The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (Review) last month it is time to look on the horizon for what the future of Zelda. Luckily, at the last Nintendo Direct they did give a nice little teaser for what players can expect for the next title Hyrule Warriors.
From what they showed in the teaser there seems to be a few new elements in terms of the combat, as Link goes flipping about with sword and even staff. Though it is difficult to tell if the game will be mainly combat centric or if they were just trying to show off. Plus, will it be more than just Link? With a name like Hyrule Warriors it would make sense for it to be, but as the name is not final it is up in the air.
Those wanting to see the first glimpse of the Wii U exclusive Hyrule Warriors, can find the teaser embedded below. Be sure to voice your opinion of what you think based on what they shown off so far in the comments below as well.
Thief first gave players a chance to see a bit more of The City in the “Stories from The City” by focusing on Basso and what he thought of the situation. The second video in the series has just been released by Square Enix and Eidos-Montreal and focuses on someone a bit closer to the Gloom problem.
This time around players can get acquainted with the Queen of the Beggars, a woman whom no one knows the true age of. Just what does this blind woman, who is rumored to use the very rats as her eyes now, think of what is happening with The City? Well, be sure to check out the video embedded below.
Thief will be coming out in February of 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, and PC, so those wanting to preorder still have plenty of time to do it.
