Kids on the Slope to debut on Neon Alley on January 17

Today Viz Media has continued to add variety and expand the horizons of their English anime streaming service Neon Alley by announcing that they will be adding Kids on the Slope to the service on Friday, January 17th at 9:30pm PST with a new episode coming out every Friday after that.

The anime was originally released in North America earlier this year by Sentai Filmworks and follows a group of young Japanese jazz musicians. Our full review of the twelve episode series can be found here. As for Neon Alley, it is a subscription based service that costs $6.99 a month.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Released on Steam For PC

Developers Kojima Productions and Platinum Games announced today that their title, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is now available on the PC through Steam!

The game follows the story of the popular Metal Gear series,  introducing a new story line to the series. You play as Raiden, a child soldier that was altered and transformed into a half-cyborg, half human assassin who is trying to seek vengeance upon his enemies. Wielding his High Frequency katana blade, he cuts swathes among his enemies ranks, leaving nothing but destruction in his wake.

The game was originally introduced on the Xbox 360 and PS3, and were both hugely successful ever since they were introduced. The new PC version that is being offered includes 3 different DLC packs: Jetstream, Bladewolf, and VR Missions. You will also have access to all customized body upgrades for Raiden.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is rated ‘M’ for mature, and is available on the PS3, Xbox 360, and now the PC. Get it here for $29.99 on Steam.

Naruto avatar items released on Xbox 360

Today Viz Media has revealed that some Naruto goods have been released on the XBLA, which means that Naruto fans can now dress up their avatar with some Naruto themed costumes and clothing. There are four basic t-shirts available and eleven costumes available for download.

A preview of some of these avatar items can be seen above. The costumes will cost $3.99 while the t-shirts will be running a $1 each. It is worth noting that any avatar items bought for your 360 avatar will also appear on your Xbox One avatar as the same avatar is used on both consoles, just it appears less prominent on the Xbox One.

Far Cry: The Wild Expedition Announced

Ubisoft have just made a major announcement in regards to the legendary Far Cry video-game series. They have officially announced Far Cry: The Wild Expedition, a 10 year anniversary compilation to celebrate this amazing series.

Far Cry: The Wild Expedition will compile the great games that comprise the series. Included are Far Cry Classic, Far Cry 2, Far Cry 3 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. You can pick up Far Cry: The Wild Expedition on February 14th, 2014 on Xbox 360, PC and PlayStation 3.

On top of that news Far Cry Classic will be released as a digital download for Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on February 12th, 2014. Be sure to let us know what you think of all this in the comments section below.

MM! English Dub Cast Revealed by Sentai Filmworks

While Sentai Filmworks may release a number of their anime series with only subtitle tracks, they have recently begun giving some of their most popular titles a re-release with a full English dub and the latest series to be given this treatment happens to be MM! which was originally released back on September 13, 2011.

Today the company revealed that the dub is being directed by John Swasey while the rest of the cast is as follows:

For those who don’t know, the story of MM! follows a major masochist named Sado who wants to break free from his issues by joining a club for people to work through their problems. However when the rest of the club has issues that range from a severe fear of men to being terrified of cats, things are only going to get worse.

Rebuild Of Evangelion 3.0 Opens On Friday In North America

This serves as a bit of a reminder for all you American Anime fans out there. Both Funimation, an American television and film production company, and Eleven Arts, an American film production and distribution company, are extremely excited because the next Rebuild Of Evangelion movie (3.0, “Q” in Japan) is set to begin its short theatrical run on Friday of this week (the 10th of January). You can check out our review of the movie here. The film will be shown in select theaters all across North America from the 10th of January to the 16th of January, now take note that not all cinemas will be playing the movie across all of those days, they are only select cinemas but we have the entire schedule for the theatrical run of the movie below so go and check it out before you start making plans.

For all you Canadians reading; the movie will also be shown in participating Cineplex theaters across the country, unfortunately we don’t have the schedule for that particular run but a simple telephone call into your local Cineplex will tell you all that you need to know. Most of the screenings of 3.0 will be English-dubbed though some cinemas have chosen to show the original Japanese dub with English subtitles instead. Now before you speed off to organize your Evangelion experience I’d like to once again remind you that below we have the entire North American cinema schedule for the film so check it out and enjoy the movie!

After Media Blasters dropped the license for Ikki Tousen FUNimation was not only quick at grabbing the series for release in North America, they are also quick about getting them released. Currently Ikki Tousen: Xtreme Xecutor is set for release on March 11th and will include not only the twelve episode series, but also the bonus OVA and six mini-episodes released as bonuses in Japan. A sample of the English dub can be found below.

New Sailor Moon Anime to Premiere in July

sailor-moon-20th-anniversary-logoIt seems that after numerous delays the new Sailor Moon anime might finally be making its debut. The official website for the Sailor Moon 20th Anniversary Project has been updated with news saying that the anime will premiere this July and they even went so far to give us a list of the staff.

The staff for the series will feature its original creator Naoko Takeuchi, as well as Munehisa Sakai as Director, and Yūji Kobayashi as Series Script Supervisor, both of whom have been working on the Precure series lately. The animation will be handled by Toei Animation while the theme song will be handled by Momoiro Clover Z.

Later on a press release was released featuring producer Atsutoshi Umezawa saying that the new Sailor Moon anime will not be a remake and will instead be following the original manga starting from scratch.

Chibi Robo Returns in this week’s eShop Update

He’s Back! That lovable little robot that graced the GameCube and Nintendo DS has arrived back in the west yet again, and found a nice little home on the 3DS eShop. Chibi-Robo!: Photo Finder allows players to take pictures of real world objects in order to put pieces up for display in a new museum. Cleaning, what Chibi does best – is rewarded with happy points, which can then be used to purchase more film for filling up those display shelves. The demo and full version can be downloaded today.

The Spring 2014 release window for EA Sports’ take on MMA, EA Sports UFC, is growing closer but we have yet to see real in-game footage of the title, although a short video describing the developer’s vision for the game was released a few months ago. Well we still don’t have in-game footage to show you but today EA has provided us with some new screenshots of the game which show just how detailed the faces of these fighters are going to appear in the game.

The screenshots can be found below and include a number of fighters including the above of Georges St-Pierre as he looks into your soul.
