Rise of the Tomb Raider Unveiled

Rise-of-the-Tomb-Raider-Screenshot-01

The much anticipated sequel to Game of the Year last year’s multiple Game of the Year candidate (and winner), the Tomb Raider reboot, has been revealed at the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will be coming to the Xbox One in the Holiday of 2015, with more platforms to be confirmed, and you can find the CGI announcement trailer embedded at the bottom of this article. It opens with Lara speaking to her psychiatrist, obviously affected by the events that took place on Yamatai. But, by the end, she resolves that those experiences have not crippled her, instead forcing her to realise and become the person she was always meant to be. The entry will take place across multiple locations around the world and, in the words of the developer, “put the tombs back in Tomb Raider”, the lacking of which was one of the very few drawbacks last time out.

Those last two official nuggets are extremely exciting, and it sounds like we can expect another GOTY worthy release from Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix. Stay tuned to Capsule Computers for more E3 2014 coverage, and future updates on Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Insomniac Games’ Sunset Overdrive is set to take the shooter world by storm with a tons of color all over the place. Don’t believe me? Well even the gameplay trailer itself starts with an over the top hero stepping up to take down a bunch of bad guys while a normal looking soldier spends his time hiding behind a box.

You can check out the full gameplay trailer below, as it was presented by Ted Price, which is full of mutants being blown up and plenty of rail-grinding and as for the game itself, Sunset Overdrive is set to be released as an Xbox One exclusive on October 28th with eight player co-op and character customization.

Today during the Microsoft E3 press conference there was only mention of one Kinect only title and it happened to be Dance Central Spotlight, this being the first Dance Central game in two years after Dance Central 3 was released back in 2012.

Dance Central Spotlight is going to be given a digital only release in September and it will be taking full advantage of the enhanced Kinect to offer players a number of new dance moves and a fitness mode. Harmonix also briefly mentioned Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved which is still set for an October 21st release on the 360 and Xbox One, though he did not go into detail about the title.

Playdead Studios Out of Limbo, Reveal INSIDE

inside-screenshot-01

Ever since the amazing LIMBO released in 2010, we’ve waited with baited breath for Playdead Studios‘ next title…well, now we know what that successor is: INSIDE.

Revealed with a gameplay trailer during the Xbox E3 2014 Media Briefing, INSIDE looks to be just as atmospheric, but in a completely different and unique aspect. It retains a 2D plane of platformer/adventure gameplay, but with a more dynamic (though, seemingly non-controllable) camera, showcasing more of an immersive 3D environment as you attempt to escape a facility with a mysterious purpose. INSIDE will release first on the Xbox One, in early 2015.

Today during their E3 press conference, Microsoft revealed that they are planning on releasing the Halo: Master Chief Collection on November 11th. This release will contain Halo, Halo 2, Halo 3, and Halo 4 for the Xbox One. All of these games will be available right from the start on a single disc and players can even create custom playlists to play their favorite moments all in a row.

Halo 1 will be released in its HD version and Halo 2 will also be given a significant HD upgrade that will allow players to switch between the new HD visuals and the classic mode. Halo 2’s multiplayer will also be released with a graphical upgrade, but the gameplay mechanics themselves will be completely untouched. This means the game’s iconic multiplayer will be “exactly as it shipped ten years ago.” The company also revealed that anyone who pre-orders the Master Chief Collection will gain access to a Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta.

Dead Rising 3 gets some fan-service packed DLC today

dead-rising-3-comedy-dlc-title

Today during Microsoft‘s E3 press conference it was revealed that some new DLC is heading for Dead Rising 3 and it is better than anything people could imagine. Not because of the gameplay perhaps, but because of everything it contains since this DLC, hilariously titled Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX Plus Alpha, contains four player online co-op, fan service costumes including outfits from Darkstalkers, Street Fighter, and more, as well as special powers.

To make this even better, apparently this DLC is available now, although I cannot find it at the moment on the Xbox Live store, so it will probably be available sometime later today for an unknown price.

Update: The DLC is now available for purchase through the Xbox One Marketplace and it is priced at $9.99 and is not tied to the Season Pass, meaning that even if you own the Season Pass for Dead Rising 3, you still need to pay $9.99 to obtain this DLC.

Evolve-Screen-01

During Microsoft’s E3 press conference it was revealed that Turtle Rock and 2K‘s Evolve will be receiving content on the Xbox One before other consoles. This means that the Xbox One will have timed-exclusivity on all downloadable content for Evolve and the beta for the game will also be launching on the Xbox One sometime in the future.

There was also a short teaser trailer accompanying this announcement, however this trailer did not have any significant gameplay footage that we haven’t seen before thanks to some recently released gameplay trailers. Evolve is currently set to be released on October 21st.

Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare DLC coming first to Xbox One

call-of-duty-advanced-warfare-e3-grab-01

To kick off their big E3 conference, Microsoft revealed some new gameplay footage for Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and alongside this gameplay footage it has also been revealed that all DLC for Advanced Warfare will be coming to the Xbox One first. This is not new for the series, as most recent Call of Duty titles have had a one month timed-exclusivity to Xbox consoles before arriving on other platforms.

In the trailer which will likely appear on the site later, we are shown how far Activision and Sledgehammer games is really taking the “Advanced Warfare” aspect by introducing drop-pods, numerous mechanical enemies ranging from swarms of drones, walking tank-like creatures, beam weaponry, jump packs that allow for boosting alongside plenty of drama and some gore as shown above. Keep an eye out for it later on today.

Update: The nine minute long trailer including plenty of gameplay footage has now gone live and you can check it out in its entirety below.
