Bloodstained to Feature Cross-Play on Xbox One and PC

After successfully raising a massive $5.7 million on Kickstarter Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night made yet another appearance today when it was announced that Koji Igarashi’s newest title would feature crossplay between the Xbox One and Windows 10.

That wasn’t all that was revealed for Bloodstained however, as a new, yet to be named, character was also revealed. Despite not knowing his name we do know that he will utilize dual swords when facing off against demons and can also unleash Japanese spells to defeat his opponents.

Currently Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set to be released sometime in 2017 by Deep Silver for the Xbox One, PC, Mac, Linux, PlayStation 4, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita.

Cities: Skylines’ Console Release Coming to Xbox One First

Although Colossal Order’s Cities: Skylines was released for the PC back in March it quickly stole any spotlight that the dreary SimCity may have once had by including mostly everything fans wanted without the extra hassles of SimCity and it seems that Microsoft wants some of that shine on their console.

Today during their conference at Gamescom, Microsoft announced that when Cities: Skylines is released on consoles that it will be available first on the Xbox One. It is worth noting that at the moment no release window has been given for a console release of Cities: Skylines so this is mostly a pre-empted announcement

Killer Instinct: Season Three Announced for March 2016; Battletoads’ Rash Revealed

Microsoft has announced that they will be releasing Killer Instinct: Season Three in March 2016 for the Xbox One and PC (with the PC version supporting Xbox One fight sticks and controllers) and that while this third season will feature eight new characters, one of those characters will be Rash from Battletoads.

Starting today anyone who owns Killer Instinct or Rare Replay can download and play a limited sneak peek of Rash on Xbox One. Rash’s availability is limited for now and will be playable as part of a test period that runs until September 8th. You can check out a few screenshots of how Rash will look in the game below.

Scalebound Gameplay Trailer Released, Holiday 2016 Release Planned

Five minutes of early footage of Scalebound was released today when Microsoft and Platinum Games announced that the title will be released sometime during the holiday season in 2016 as an Xbox One exclusive. In the trailer we see Drew, a young man who is pulled into a strange world only to be bonded to a fearsome noble dragon named Thuban who is the last of his kind.

These two lone fighters must team up to defeat powerful enemies that are threatening the world of not only Draconis but Earth as well. The video also shows that players will be fighting alongside their dragon against massive numbers of enemies and that the game can be played in four-player co-op as well.

Crackdown 3 Debut Gameplay Footage Released

At Gamescom today Microsoft revealed some new information about Crackdown 3 which is set to be released sometime in 2016 by announcing that a multiplayer beta will begin sometime in summer 2016 and that, thanks to cloud computing, the game will run at twenty times the processing power of what the Xbox One is usually capable of.

They also revealed that Crackdown 3 will take place in a new futuristic city where players (up to four at a time with co-op online play) will make use of their superhuman abilities to tear down an intricate criminal empire with everything in the environment looking like it can be destroyed.

Quantum Break Release Date Set for April 5

Today during their Gamescom conference Microsoft announced that Quantum Break will be released on April 5, 2016 and they also released a few new details concerning the title and how it will be something of a cross-over between video game and TV show.

You see, according to Remedy Entertainment the choices players make in-game will affect the outcome of certain events in the show. Players will navigate “epic scenes of destruction, experience time-amplified gameplay, and marvel at a top-quality show that is directly impacted by what you do. A new trailer showing off bits of gameplay as well as introducing some of the fairly well known actors who will be appearing in the game and the show can be seen below alongside some new screenshots for the upcoming title.

Leading simulation publisher expands platform mix, bringing key franchises to Windows 10 and Xbox One

Chatham, Kent – Aug. 4, 2015 – Dovetail Games, the multi-award-winning developer and publisher of a range of simulation games, today announced plans with Microsoft to bring a number of its future releases to Windows 10 and Xbox One.

In addition to Dovetail Games Fishing, the company plans to bring two of its next-generation products to the platform: the next iteration in the Train Simulator series, which is due in 2016 and will be powered by Unreal Engine 4, and Dovetail Games Flight Simulator, built on the foundations of Microsoft’s award-winning Flight technology.

Dovetail Games Fishing and the new Train Simulator will also be seen first on console on Xbox One, via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program.
