Mobile Strategy Game Dawn of Steel Ready for Launch on iOS

High-profile mobile game by flaregames and Superweapon will be published on September 24th exclusively for iPad and iPhone

Karlsruhe / San Francisco – September 21rst, 2015 | Flaregames, a leading international developer and publisher of F2P mobile games, announced today that Dawn of Steel, a deeply tactical strategy game for iOS devices, launches worldwide on September 24th, 2015. The developer is Superweapon, a new studio comprised of friends who worked on prestigious strategy game franchises like Command & Conquer, Empires & Allies, Company of Heroes, and The Lord of the Rings. Dawn of Steel will be free to play and be available localized in 17 languages.

Klaas Kersting, CEO of flaregames, says: “I simply cannot overstate my excitement. Superweapon and flaregames worked so hard on this game. We’re very pleased with how it came out and are dying to see how gamers worldwide will react to it!”

Amer Ajami, President of Superweapon, adds: “We used the months since the game was announced to expand and polish the meta gameplay, giving Dawn of Steel a new strategic dimension. We also added more content, fixed bugs and incorporated feedback from hundreds of players. A developer’s work is never done, but we’re sure to have created a game that millions of players will love!”

Dawn of Steel aims to capture the essence of the real-time strategy genre for mobile devices: Players assemble squads of giant mechanized walkers, called Rigs, and direct them on an assault of enemy fortifications. Success depends on tactical prowess, quick decision-making, and precise movement. This is assisted by the intuitive direct-touch control scheme that gives the player many options of how to harness the mechanized power he’s controlling. To defend against these mighty armored behemoths, dealing destruction with surgical precision, is no easy feat: Players have to use cunning, strategic foresight and, again, tactical thinking, as base-building in Dawn of Steel is more than just unlocking and placing buildings. Commanders get to utilize stationary weaponry, which must be arranged carefully to maximise damage with overlapping lines of sight, and can launch automated counter-attacks through the use of unit-spawning buildings. They must align buildings within the effects of auxiliary installations to maximize their defensive potential, and this makes for base-building that is unmatched in tactical depth.

On the lush surface of the planet Leviathan, corporate armies battle for control of Plasma, the most precious resource of all. And on this very battlefield, the fate of Earth will be determined.

Although there are many dangers in the wild, that doesn’t mean that Noctis and his buddies will be spending all of their time in Final Fantasy XV fighting against enemies. During their Tokyo Game Show stage event Square Enix spent five minutes showing off two other things that players can spend time with. The main one happens to be Chocobo riding, leaving the car behind in favor of the maneuverable iconic birds that can leap around the environment and even slide while turning for sharper turns while the second happens to be a fishing mini-game.

The fishing aspect allows players to catch a variety of fish in different areas and even grill them up later for dinner in the camp. You can check out the footage below while Final Fantasy XV itself is set to be released on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in the future.

New Attack on Titan Gameplay Footage Demonstrates Movement and Titan Fighting

Attack-on-Titan-game-screenshot-(14)

While Koei Tecmo showed off a bit of gameplay footage for their upcoming Attack on Titan game earlier in the week, the company has now released eight minutes of footage taken from the Tokyo Game Show stage event as well as a number of new screenshots for the game. The gameplay footage starts by showing off how smooth the 3D Maneuver Gear can be used to navigate through the city and how buddies will be joining the player in fighting against Titans.

Titans can have their limbs and necks targeted but they will be far from stupid as they can track down players, force them to crash into buildings, cut off a wire, or even grab the player. It appears if the player is grabbed they will need to try and mash buttons to slice out of the Titan’s grasp or rely on a partner to free them.

Valiant Hearts creator Fanise partners with Grammy Winning Performer Wyclef Jean to reveal Lost in Harmony: the first narrative musical game.

Yoan Fanise, (former Ubisoft) announced on Twitter the game entitled Lost in Harmony™. With a song powered by the talent of 2 x Grammy winning producer/performer/songwriter Wyclef Jean and famous videogame composers, Lost in Harmony™ is a revolution in musical gaming, it is telling a moving story only by music. The player will embody Kaito, a young boy who travels the world on his tiny skateboard holding a girl called Aya. This heart breaking story is brought by a highly emotional soundtrack, mixed of different genres from all cultures. The innovative combination of rhythmic and choreographic gameplay makes you feel the music in a totally new way.

To watch the first gameplay trailer and learn more about the game, please visit www.lostinharmony.com.

“The idea of Lost in Harmony came from my past experience of blending music into storytelling. Magic happens when you see how, without any word, without any language form, you can provoke feelings into a multicultural audience by playing the right melody.” says Yoan Fanise, Creative Director of the game. “I was frustrated not to find a musical game that brought this level of emotion, with characters you care about, with a story you want to follow, it was more or less always about rhythmic tapping, about squares and circles. By marrying my storytelling experience and the talent of world class composers, there is a chance that this game will touch people’s hearts.”

The game, coming in 2016, will feature an original song written specially by producer, solo performer and songwriter Wyclef Jean, who has sold over 49 million records and has been a powerful pop cultural force for over two decades.

“To bring  music to Kaito’s fantasy world was thrilling. ”, explains Wyclef Jean  ”I wanted to write music that captured a moment in his journey that was both mystical and brave, and that could emotionally inspire the multi-national world that is video gaming and that Kaito lives in.  And how cool do music for a game that uses music to communicate!”

Lost in Harmony™ is inspired by Miyazaki and Kurosawa movies, through the eyes of Kaito, it talks about the troubling period of teenager, the will to escape confronted to the fears of life and death. It is a game incredibly fun and challenging to play but which has also something to say. There is another layer in itself.
