SNK and Atlus USA have released the first in what will be a series of “Team Gameplay” videos for The King of Fighters XIV and what better way to kick things off than by introducing the Japan Team that is made of of Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido, and Goro Daimon.

The company provided a small bit of detail for each of the characters and you can check that out below:

Kyo Kusanagi – Kyo Kusanagi is the legitimate heir of the ancestral arts of the Kusanagi clan. Despite his seemingly rude and arrogant demenanor, he has innate gifts for fighting, and can reduce any of his opponents into ashes via his pyrotechnic skills. Iori Yagami is his “eternal enemy”.

Benimaru Nikaido – Born of American and Japanese parents, Benimaru is a young son of a multi-millionaire family. This genius fighter specializes in shooting and electricity-based techniques. Benimaru is also Kyo’s best friend and friendly rival.

Goro Daimon – Former gold medalist in judo at the Olympic Games, Goro decided one day to improve his discipline by adding new techniques such as “tremendous earthquakes”. He later joined Kyo and Benimaru to participate in the KOF Tournament. Goro always seems to have a very serious expression, but he is a hard-worker.

As for the game itself, The King of Fighters XIV is set to be released for the PlayStation 4 in North America on August 23rd and in Japan on August 25th

Koei Tecmo has revealed some new gameplay details, screenshots, and game footage of Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book and the focus of all of this content happens to be on the title’s updated synthesis system as well as the characters we will be meeting in the game, a few of which will be familiar for fans of the series.

In this upcoming PlayStation 4 and PS Vita RPG, Sophie is just beginning to learn about alchemy and with the help of Plachta, the Mysterious Book, whose memories slowly return as her pages are filled, she will begin her journey to discover and concoct numerous new and useful recipes.To do this, players have access to a 4×4 panel system which can grow depending on the type and quality of cauldron.

As ingredients are placed into the cauldron, they will take up a set amount of tiles on the panel which, if utilized correctly, allows items to be more efficient than they normally are. A wide choice of recipes with different shape, size and quality can be used to craft items, and making full use of the panel space is vital to receiving optimal bonuses.

Need for Speed 2 in Development, Support for First Game Ends

need-for-speed-screenshot-01

Need for Speed 2015 developers Ghost Games have announced that the last update that was released at the end of last month would be the last and that focus is now shifting development onto a sequel which will be released in 2017 and will be “building upon the foundations that have been laid with Need for Speed” as well as taking in as much feedback from the Community as possible.

This is sad news as a lot of great new features were added, however there was still a lot more that could be done to cement Need for Speed as one of the best racers of the generation. That being said numerous new elements and improvements have been included such as multiplayer lobbies, a prestige mode, drag racing, a larger garage, photo mode and even some story content that focused on the original Need for Speed Underground. Much of these updates focused on community feedback but some issues such as the terribly weak Police A.I. was left unchanged.

need-for-speed-screenshot-03

As part of their seemingly last community update, Ghost took some time to gloat about a few game statistics.

“Since Need for Speed made its return, you’ve spent a massive amount of time on the roads of Ventura Bay. You’ve collected over 9.8 billion REP points, taken over 35 million Snapshots, raced in over 10 million Drag Races, and beaten a total of 52 million Eddie’s Challenge Events. You’ve spent a stunning 950 million minutes customizing cars, no doubt helped with the $2.5 trillion in-game cash earned. You’ve shared more than 700,000 wraps, resulting in more than 13 million downloads by your fellow NFS fans.”

Before launch it was announced the game had no plans for paid DLC and that has remained true. At time of writing it is unclear if the game will receive any more updates, paid or not. We originally awarded the game a 7 out of 10 but the updates would have brought that up to an 8 if we were to review the game again. Let us know your opinion on Need for Speed 2015 and what improvements would you like to see in the sequel. A day and night cycle and dynamic weather are probably top of my list at the moment.

2K Announces Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI Launching October 21, 2016

2K Announces Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI Launching October 21, 2016

Latest installment in the multi award-winning Civilization franchise offers thrilling new ways to build an empire to stand the test of time

Sydney, Australia – May 12, 2016 – 2K and Firaxis Games are excited to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Civilization series by announcing that Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI, the next entry in the award-winning turn-based strategy franchise, is currently in development for PC. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI will offer players new ways to interact with their world, expand their empire across the map, advance their culture, and compete against history’s greatest leaders to build a civilization to stand the test of time.

“Sid Meier’s Civilization games hold a reputation for defining the 4X gaming genre for the past 25 years,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “We can’t think of a better way to celebrate the silver anniversary of our longest-running franchise than launching the eagerly anticipated Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, which will provide the most detailed, beautiful and complete experience ever featured in a Civilization game.”

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI sets another milestone in the Civilization franchise, which has sold-in over 34 million units worldwide and changed the gaming landscape by bringing the strategy genre to unparalleled heights. In Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, cities will physically expand across the map to create new, deep strategic layers, active research in technology and culture will unlock new potential ways to play; and the large variety of leaders will pursue their own agendas based on their historical character traits as players race to achieve victory however they choose to play.

Sid Meier’s Civilization VI builds on the firm foundation of the Civilization franchise, and we’ve added many exciting new elements,” said Ed Beach, lead designer at Firaxis Games. “The visual presentation of the game is inspired by the maps and tools of the Age of Exploration, and we’ve made several key gameplay changes such as expansive cities and active research that makes Sid Meier’s Civilization VI an entirely unique experience while remaining true to what makes the Civilization series so special.”

Key features of Sid Meier’s Civilization VI include:

  • EXPANSIVE EMPIRES: See the marvels of your empire spread across the map like never before. Each city spans multiple tiles so you can custom build your cities to take full advantage of the local terrain;
  • ACTIVE RESEARCH: Unlock boosts that speed your civilization’s progress through history. To advance more quickly, use your units to actively explore, develop your environment, and discover new cultures;
  • DYNAMIC DIPLOMACY: Interactions with other civilizations change over the course of the game, from primitive first interactions where conflict is a fact of life, to late game alliances and negotiations;
  • COMBINED ARMS: Expanding on the “one unit per tile” design, support units can now be embedded with other units, like anti-tank support with infantry, or a warrior with settlers. Similar units can also be combined to form powerful “Corps” units;
  • ENHANCED MULTIPLAYER: In addition to traditional multiplayer modes, cooperate and compete with your friends in a wide variety of situations all designed to be easily completed in a single session;
  • A CIV FOR ALL PLAYERS: Civilization VI provides veteran players new ways to build and tune their civilization for the greatest chance of success. New tutorial systems are designed to introduce new players to the underlying concepts of Civilization so they can easily get started on a path to victory.

Sid Meier’s Civilization® VI is not yet rated, is available for pre-order now on Windows PC, and will be released worldwide on October 21, 2016 for AUD$89.95/NZD$99.95. Expand your empire further with the Civilization VI Digital Deluxe Edition, which includes the full base game, the 25th Anniversary Digital Soundtrack, and access to four post-launch DLC packs that will add new maps, scenarios, civilizations and leaders for a bundled discount.
