Madman Entertainment is releasing several anime films and series on home video in Australia today. Unless otherwise stated, all of the following films and television anime episodes are featured with dual language options.

  • A Letter to Momo – DVD and Blu-ray. On-disc extras include an art gallery, “The Making of Letter to Momo” and animation test clips.
  • Berserk: The Golden Age Arc Movie Collection – DVD and Blu-ray. On-disc extras include “Interview with Aki Toyosaki and Minako Kotobuki”, “Interview with Eiko Tanaka”, “Susumu Hirasawa “Aria” Live Concert”, movie production art galleries, “The Battle for Doldrey U.S. Premiere Highlight Reel”, Japanese and international trailers and outtakes.
  • Black Butler: Book of Murder (OVA) – DVD and Blu-ray.
  • Fairy Tail Collection 20 – DVD and Blu-ray. This set contains episodes 227-239 with dual language options.
  • Nanana’s Buried Treasure Complete Series – DVD. All episodes are featured with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
  • Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee and His Ninja Pals Part 1 – DVD.
  • One Piece Collection 37 (Episodes 446-456) – DVD.
  • The Boy and the Beast Collector’s Edition – DVD and Blu-ray. The details of this release can be found in the announcement article here.
  • To-Love-Ru Darkness (Season 3) – DVD. All episodes are featured with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
  • Tokyo Ghoul Va Season 2 – DVD and Blu-ray and in a Limited Edition DVD and Blu-ray Combo Pack. The on-disc extras include audio commentaries, video commentary, promotional videos, the textless opening animation and the U.S. trailer.
  • Wolf Girl and Black Prince – DVD. All episodes are featured with Japanese audio and English subtitles.
  • Your Lie in April Part 1 (Episodes 1-11) – DVD and Limited Edition Blu-ray. The Limited Edition set comes with six collector’s art cards and a special collector’s art box. It features the textless opening and ending animation and audio commentary for episode 1 as on-disc extras.

Madman Entertainment’s Release of ‘Rick and Morty’ Season Two Is Out Now

Madman Entertainment is releasing the second season of the Adult Swim series Rick and Morty on DVD and Blu-ray in Australia today. The DVD edition has a suggested retail price of $29.95 AUD (Australian Dollars) while the Blu-ray edition has a suggested retail price of $34.95 AUD.

The release includes ten episodes. In order, they are: “A Rickle in Time”, “Mortynight Run, “Auto Erotic Assimilation”, “Total Rickall”, “Get Schwifty”, “The Ricks Must Be Crazy”, “Big Trouble in Little Sanchez”, “Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate”, “Look Who’s Purging Now” and “The Wedding Squanchers”. The on-disc extras include: behind the scenes footage, animatics and commentary.

Madman Entertainment released the first season of Rick and Morty on DVD and Blu-ray on October 8, 2014. Adult Swim has renewed the series for a third season.

The organiser’s behind EB Expo, Australia’s world-class video games event, are pleased to unveil additional curated content along with the next wave of confirmed playable games at the show. EB Expo 2016 will be held September 30 to October 2 at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park. Tickets are available instore at EB Games or Zing Pop Culture, at OzTix or online at www.ebexpo.com.au.

New to this year and likely to sell out fast, is the never-before-seen Good Game Unplugged. This is a special 10th Anniversary show hosted by Bajo, Hex, Goose, Nichboy and Hingers, and will focus on the past 10 years of Good Game. Good Game Unplugged will include a Q&A with the cast and be shown during the Saturday daylight and twilight sessions, and during the Sunday session of the EB Expo. Add-on tickets will be $10 each, or discounted at $30 for four. The cast will also be available for a free meet and greet during the greater EB Expo at a time to be announced soon.

An exciting Pokémon adventure awaits fans of all ages, in the new EB Expo Pokémon Zone. This area will include a Pokémon themed store, a themed battle lounge, a retro Pokémon area and more. The focus of this area is to allow fans to experience the world of Pokémon in a tangible way that pays tribute to the beloved brand.

Also new to this year’s EB Expo, is a free-to-play Minecraft area, called the Minecraft Block. This area will include unique EB Expo playable content, with details to be revealed soon.

“At the EB Expo, we’ve always been about first-to-play games and we’re continuing to deliver that this year with playable blockbuster titles on the show floor,” said Brand, Events and Engagement Director Debra McGrath.

Newly announced games playable before release are Gears of War 4, Resident Evil VII: Biohazard, Tekken 7, Dragonball Z Xenoverse 2, and Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue.

Available to play just after their release are Final Fantasy XV and Forza Horizon 3, set in Australia.

Games available to experience at the show include Mafia III and Sniper Ghost Warrior 3.

EB Games will be announcing more confirmed playable games in the coming weeks, from publishers such as PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, Activision, Bandai Namco, Bethesda, Square Enix, Ubisoft and more.

In addition to this, PlayStation Australia are pleased to confirm that fans attending the 2016 EB Expo will have the opportunity to get hands on with the most diverse range of PlayStation VR titles available in Australia to date.

Madman Entertainment’s DVD Release of ‘Captain Planet’ Season 1 Is Out Now

Madman Entertainment is releasing the first season of the North American animated series Captain Planet and the Planeteers on DVD in Australia today. The set contains 26 episodes across four discs. It has a suggested retail price of $44.95 AUD (Australian Dollars).

The series was originally broadcast from 1990 to 1996. It has not been released on DVD in Australia until now. The page for this release on Madman’s online store does not state what on-disc extras will be included, if any. However, Shout! Factory’s 2011 release of the first season includes two extras: a feature titled “Your Powers Combined: The Story of Captain Planet” and original concept art.

Four previously-announced ambassadors (James Rodriguez of Real Madrid C.F., Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Eden Hazard of Chelsea FC, or Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund) will go head-to-head in the official FIFA 17 Global Cover Vote.

All voting will take place on the official FIFA Cover Vote Website beginning today and running through July 19 at 11:59pm PT. Players begin their adventure with instructions from Professor Willow, who will allow you to slightly customise your avatar then give you some Pokeballs so you can capture one of three main starter Pokemon, Bulbasaur, Squirtle or Charmander. I guess some things never change. From there you have to set a unique name (hurry, all the good names are taken already) and then you are off on your adventure. You can download it for Android devices and iDevices from their respective stores by using the links below. This sudden release will come as a shock to nearly everyone after interviews at E3 revealed the game was due for a late July release but nothing was certain. People have surely found out though as the game had 50,000 downloads already on the Google Play Store alone.

The developers of Teku Studios talk about their experiences with Kickstarter and Unity

What happens after a successful Kickstarter campaign? How is it possible to animate a game completely drawn in watercolor? These and many other questions are answered by the Spanish developers of Teku Studios in the Making Of video of their colorful puzzle-adventure game Candle. Additionally, Teku Studios talk about their experiences with the Unity engine as part of the Developer-Story-Series.

Candle challenges players with sophisticated puzzles and traps. What makes this adventure special is not only its challenge rating, though, but also its distinctive visual style: The game’s backgrounds and characters were not painted digitally, but instead are hand-made and based on watercolor paintings, imbuing the game with a very unique style. Candle will be released in Q3 of 2016 for PC, Mac and Linux.

About Candle

Candle is a puzzle adventure with demanding puzzles. Players take on the role of Teku, a young man bound to rescue his tribe’s shaman from the vile Wakcha Clan. But the way is spiked with traps and many trials. To master the way ahead, Teku has to pay close attention to his suroundings and make good use of his deductive skills – or his journey will come to an early end.

But Teku has a special gift: His left hand is a candle. He can use it as a torch to fend off enemies or as a bright beacon to ligt dark places.

Candle’s unique charm comes from the beautifully hand-drawn watercolor visuals, as all backgrounds, characters and objects have been individually painted and scanned for the game. Every minute of Candle feels like a living painting.

Teku Studios, based in Teruel, Spain, has been founded in 2012 by two students with a passion for video games. The indie team focuses on motives created with traditional media: all visuals are painted carefully with watercolors by hand. The goal here is to not only create an engaging game, but also an enthralling visual experience in virtual worlds.
