assassins-creed-movie-screenshot-03

Ubisoft released a new trailer for the upcoming Assassin’s Creed movie today. The video helps introduce people new to the Assassin’s Creed franchise to the overarching plot and to the film’s main character Callum Lynch. There is plenty of action in the second half of the trailer and what appears to be a breakout from the Abstergo labs by Lynch and the rest of the prisoners.

The Assassin’s Creed movie stars Michael Fassbender as Callum Lynch, a death row prisoner who wakes up after his execution in the laboratories of Abstergo. With the help of the Animus, Lynch is forced to relive the memories of his ancestor Aguilar de Nerha who lived during the Spanish Inquisition. Assassin’s Creed is set to arrive in theatres in Australia and New Zealand on January 1st, 2017.

Hit Confirmed for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2

hit-xenoverse-2-01

One of the final images leaked from V-Jump before the release of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 has revealed that Hit, from the recent Universe 6 vs Universe 7 arc of Dragon Ball Super will be one of the final characters (possibly the last) to join the roster of the base game.

This marks a few notable milestones including the first time Hit will be a playable character in a video game and the first time we will hear his voice in English. He is sure to come with a unique fighting style and make use of his ‘time skip’ abilities that he demonstrated in Dragon Ball Super. We don’t know much about his move set but he definitely has a time-skip super (which may be able to learned by the custom avatars) and maximum charge.

The full retail version of Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 launches on PS4 and Xbox One on the 25th of October in North America and the 28th in Europe and most other parts of the world. You can check out my full impressions from the Closed Beta here.

Update: Bandai Namco seems to be right on top of this leak, revealing a short trailer about Hit’s inclusion in the game!

Rockstar Announces Red Dead Redemption 2

red-dead-redemption-2-promo-shot-01

Good news and bad news from Rockstar today. Bad news is that the much wished for Red Dead Redemption port has still not materialized. The good news is that Red Dead Redemption 2 is coming. Be still, my heart!

Details on the game is a bit thin at the moment, but there will be multiplayer. The first trailer will be released this Friday, October 21st at 2AM ADT. The trailer will be shown at the official Red Dead Redemption 2 website, YouTube, and Twitch. The game will be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Spring 2017 with no mention of a PC release date. If a PC release does happen, then it will likely follow the release schedule of Grand Theft Auto V and launch several months after the console release.

TAKE TO THE SKIES WITH EAGLE FLIGHT™ – THE FIRST VIRTUAL REALITY GAME FROM UBISOFT®

TAKE TO THE SKIES WITH EAGLE FLIGHT™ – THE FIRST VIRTUAL REALITY GAME FROM UBISOFT®

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA – October 19, 2016 –Ubisoft has announced that its first Virtual Reality game, Eagle Flight, is now available on Oculus Rift and will be available on PlayStation®VR on November 8 and HTC Vive on December 20.

Developed by FunHouse, a division of Ubisoft Montreal, Eagle Flight is set 50 years after humans have disappeared from Earth, where wildlife and nature have taken over Paris. The game lets players explore one of the most visited cities from a new point of view, as a bird of prey. As an eagle, players glide past historic landmarks and weave through narrow streets and secret passages. In single-player mode, players refine their flying skills, learning new tricks by competing in challenges and in multiplayer face-off in a heart-pounding capture-the-prey dogfights for up to three vs three players.

Eagle Flight, developed specifically for VR, focuses strongly on accessibility and comfort. The game features a VR control technology breakthrough that provides players with natural and precise movement controls. With this breakthrough players can comfortably hone their flying skills in order to achieve remarkable aerial manoeuvres, and experience the true sensation of flight.

“At Ubisoft we care deeply about innovation and new technology, so we’re excited to release Eagle Flight, our first Virtual Reality game,” said Patrick Plourde, VP of FunHouse. “Eagle Flight is a fantastic game for newcomers to VR and experienced players alike. The game is very intuitive, so novice players can simply boot up the game and fly at their own pace with ease. For more seasoned players looking for a more intense experience, they can jump into the single player challenges or into a multiplayer match where they will have to expertly navigate the streets, skies and underground of Paris as they try to capture the prey and defeat their opponents.”

Eagle Flight marks the first virtual reality game launch for Ubisoft, who are also working on Werewolves Within™, Star TrekTM: Bridge Crew and a VR partnership with the film company, SpectreVision.

Fight For Glory with the New ‘Gladiatrix Update’ in Starpoint Gemini Warlords on PC

Fight For Glory with the New ‘Gladiatrix Update’ in Starpoint Gemini Warlords on PC

‘Gladiatrix Update’ Trailer and New Screenshots Released

Haarlem, The Netherlands – October 18 2016 – Iceberg Interactive and developer Little Green Men Games today released a major update to their popular Steam Early Access title Starpoint Gemini Warlords. With the Gladiatrix update, players are offered a completely new gameplay option, by now being able to set up their matches and battle against other ships, testing their skills with the new ‘direct combat’ system.

Some highlights of the update:

  • Added Arena battle gameplay mode (Arena structure with “skirmish” battles. The first Arena out of several planned)
  • Added entirely new skill system
  • Added Artefact Vault system (with quests and rewards)
  • Redesigned combat system to accommodate the new Arena gameplay mode and different application of skills
  • Added remaining Outerlands spaceship designs (Ragnarok and Loki)

The complete changelog for the Gladiatrix update can be found in the Steam Hub.

Mario Mihokovic, CEO of Little Green Men Games says: “As we go full-steam ahead with Warlords development, some fans have shown concern that the game lacks something to expand gameplay until the storyline and full conquest has been added. Our antidote is the Arena agmeplay mode. Now you’ll be able to set up your own “matches”, see more ships and test your unique skills without having to travel halfway across Gemini. With Arena, we’re also introducing a completely new skill system and new direct combat mechanics. We’re keen to hear feedback on the new direction we’re taking…”

In addition, LGM Games is working to include these upcoming features below to Starpoint Gemini Warlords during their continuous development in the Steam Early Access Program:

UPCOMING FEATURES INCLUDE:

  • Full controller support
  • VR support
  • Steam Workshop support for a mod-friendly environment
  • Intricate campaign with branching quests
  • Customize your faction and go berserk on the unsuspecting Gemini factions in free-form Conquest mode
  • Call on your companions to join you in your adventures
  • Hire officers who improve over time, and promote them to fleet leaders
