The Swiss National Council has now officially passed a law that will ultimately lead to the complete ban of any violent video games in the country. Though the true implications of the law are still unknown until the government passes down the requirements of the law, which have yet to be decided upon.
What this may mean however, is that there will be a halt to production, distribution, and sales for any video game deemed to violent for Switzerland’s standards. Basically placing an iron grip around video game development in Switzerland. This will turn out to be a critical blow to any video game retailers in Switzerland, especially after their lobbying for simply stricter regulations on sales, has been denied.
This is very unfortunate news, because now that one country has passed a bill that could potentially silence any and all violent video games within it’s boarders, there may be more to come. Other countries now have the possibility to look at the outcome of this law, and see truly what type of an effect such a ban would have, and if they themselves should introduce their own ban.
What do you guys think about this ? Your comments.
The picture above shows the new costumes that come with the ‘Alternate Appearance Pack’ DLC. This DLC will cost you about $2 on the XBox 360 and PC.
The second DLC is coming to your guys for free from the games Cerberus Network. The ‘Firewalker’ will enable you to drive the Hammerhead hover tank, the pack also includes five missions that utilize the new vehicle. I’d suggest to everyone who gave up on getting the Cerberus Network working, to get cracking and try again.
Aksys games, publishers of the previous game Blazblue: Calamity Triggerhas announced that the sequel to their fast paced fighting game is arriving on consoles sometime in Summer of 2010! The game will be coming to both the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
Blazblue: Continuum Shift will be bringing back the diverse and sometimes odd fighters from the first game, with a few new additions. Not only that, but there will also be three new fighters; Hazama, Tsubaki, and ?-12. The returning characters will have new fighting moves and the game shall also include a variety of new battle modes, such as a beginners mode and tutorial mode.
A list of the new features being presented in BlazBlue: Continuum Shift:
New Modes featuring Beginner Mode, Tutorial Mode and Challenge Mode! Beginner Mode encourages a wider audience with an easier control scheme, anyone can jump right into and play! Tutorial allows the novice and pros to practice everything from the basic mechanics unique to BlazBlue.
Challenge Mode offers advanced players character-specific combos and missions.
· Take over Kagutsuchi by creating your own army in Legion Mode!
Defeat the enemy armies positioned at various locations on the map. The ultimate goal is to color the entire map with your color by defeating all the enemy hubs. Recruit enemy soldiers by defeating them!
· Brand new characters, stages, soundtracks and moves!
Not only this, but if they also continue the tradition from the previous game, there will be a long and in-depth storyline for each character again, expanding further upon the vast storyline that each character has, with multiple endings all leading to a true storyline at the end.
Personally I can’t wait for this game. I enjoyed the first Blazblue game greatly and with the announcement of the sequel coming from the arcade cabinets onto consoles, I’m excited. I enjoyed this game more than even Street Fighter IV that came out last year as well. If you haven’t had a chance to play this game but are a fan of fighting games I would definitely recommend picking up the original game.

Do love yourself some GTA 4, but have been playing it on the PS3 and PC and have been eagerly awaiting the Episodes from Liberty City to come to your desired System?
Well, I have some bad news. “a request by Sony Europe to make some minor content changes to the PAL PS3 version of the game.” According to the press release, “the minor changes made to the game will not affect the gamers enjoyment of the games, these will not affect any gameplay elements and were not related to any local ratings requirements.”
So blame Sony Europe for the 2 week delay. The new Release days is April 13th for North America, and April 16th everywhere else.
Just think of it this way, that’s an extra 2 weeks you can spend twittering and commenting on our site before you disappear from the web in these expansions. Don’t forget to say buy to your mom, because when that date hits you are going to vanish.
Quite an interesting game has been under development by Zeboyd Games and is set to be released in April 2010. The game is called Breath of Death VII: The Beginning. The game has the appearance of an old school RPG, such as Breath of Fire or Final Fantasy.
The game will include a variety of features recently announced by Zeboyd Games themselves:
Join Dem the Skeleton Knight, Sara the Ghost Historian, Lita the Vampire Techie, and Erik the Zombie Prince as they explore a world filled with the undead, searching for the secrets of the past. Game features include:
* Fast turn-based combat!
* Retro visuals reminiscent of the best of 8-bit & 16-bit RPGs displayed in glorious 720p!
* World map filled with several dungeons & locations to explore!
* Deep yet easy to understand branching LV-Up system
* Special multi-character techniques & a combo count system add strategic depth to combat!
Breath of Death VII will only cost 80 MS points, or $1. The game is quite interesting looking and looks to include many tributes to other video games. One such reference is to the shop owner in the video below, sounding like the merchant from RE4. Personally it looks very interesting, especially for only $1 this game may be very hard to simply pass up, especially for RPG fans such as myself.
For those of you who have been enjoying Metro 2033, you probably noticed a title update that caused you to lose some playing time.
Don’t get too mad though, because this update was mandatory in order to enable future DLC to be added to the game. According to the Metro 2033 Facebook page. It will not be Single Player Narrative levels, nor missing levels. They also said that it will not be multiplayer because that is not possible.

This is the Unreal Engine 3 Tech Demo showcased at GDC 2010.
Epic have released footage from its Unreal GDC tech demo that showcases the legendary Brumak smashing through a jungle. This is showing further evidence that Gears of War 3 will be taking advantage of the enhanced Unreal Engine foliage technology. It’s very exciting look at that big dog go.
Jungle Images look very detailed seems like Epic have been working very hard on their Unreal Engine to create impressive – and rather pretty looking – lush, plant-filled environments.
What you guys think ? Your thoughts ideas and opinions please.
