According to a secret squirrel that resides in the holy land that is Sony, the PlayStation Network premium service will be announced at this year’s E3 on June 15th.
This premium service, which will supposedly cost less than £50 a year, will provide subscribers benefits and other goodies, one of which will allow you to choose a free PSN title once a month from an allotted pool of two to four games.
The premium service will also feature a streaming music service of sorts, similar to Spotify, which would theoretically allow music to stream while playing games.
Online play will continue to be free.
Also worth mentioning is that cross-game voice will NOT be a part of the premium service.
We’ll find out next month.
I’ll be there, will you? If not physically, I’m counting on all of you to be there in spirit! 😉
NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc. today released new screenshots from the “GAC Pack” downloadable content for Dead to Rights: Retribution, a ground-up reinvention of the multi-million unit selling crime action series developed by Volatile Games. The “GAC Pack” will include two new completely different modes of gameplay as well as exciting bonus options to enrich the player’s experience with the core retail game.
“Assault on the 87th Precinct” is a new mission that reveals a flip side to the story, allowing players to experience the action from the GAC (Grant City Anti-Crime) enemy’s side of the battle. Players step into the boots of the GAC Sniper, Brawler and Tank characters as they converge upon the GCPD (Grant City Police Department) stronghold under orders to contain all police officers so they can secure a tactical advantage.
In “Riot Control Mode,” Jack and Shadow fend off increasingly difficult waves of GAC forces to earn points and achievements based on speed and style, with high score bragging rights on international leaderboards. In addition, the previously exclusive “Jack Pack” and “Shadow Pack” are also included in the “GAC Pack” allowing players to access armor for Jack, stealth camouflage for Shadow, an “action mode” with explosive rounds gunplay, and a “noir mode” with a black, white and red graphic filter.
Developed by Volatile Games, Dead to Rights: Retribution is rated “M” for mature audiences by the ESRB and carries an MSRP of $59.99. The “GAC Pack” DLC add-on content will be released on June 1 for Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 for 400 Microsoft Points and on PlayStation Network for $4.99. Players must have the retail game in order to access the “GAC Pack” content.
Michael Thorton, the main character and protagonist of Alpha Protocol, sure gets around. Planes, trains, and automobiles will take him wherever he has to go and boy does he go. Looks like being a spy sure nets you a lot of tourism opportunities. At least that is when your not dukeing it out with mafia members and getting into firefights with Russian women.
Catch Alpha Protocol, produced by SEGA and developed by Obsidian Entertainment on May 27th in Australia, the 28th for Europe, and June 1st everywhere else.

This looks and sounds great the price to hire movies is relatively cheap and for only $7.99 to actually own them is also worth it. Remember they are in SD but still its a great price. Lights camera ACTION !!! now where’s my popcorn ??
Here we go ladies and gentlement. UBISOFT’s Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands launch trailer. Strap yourselves in and click on the play button and see the Prince in action protecting his brother kingdoms from the Sand Armies
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands (for XB360, PS3, PSP, Wii and DSi) will be available in store this Thursday, May 20 and for PC on June 10.
This first trailer shows Lara and her Mayan friend Totec going through dangerous tombs, running into puzzles puzzles and other obstacles during their journey. The game looks like fun specially with co-op, and the reports that it is going to cost 1200 Microsoft Points shouldn’t be too bad since most games are that price now anyway.
Splinter Cell: Conviction is getting new DLC in the form of new co-op material. The ‘Deniable Ops Insurgency Pack’ is set to release on May 27th, and will introduce 4 brand new maps for play within every Deniable Ops mode (Hunter, Last Stand, Face Off and Infiltration).
The new maps are San Francisco docks, a New Orleans cemetery, a prison in Portland and a secret facility in Salt Lake City.
The DLC is currently set for 800 Microsoft Points and will include 250G.

Two games are being released this wednesday on the Xbox Live Arcade. Metal Slug XX will cost you 1200 Microsoft Points and Aqua: Naval Warfare will cost you 800.
Thoughts:
Metal Slug XX is a new addition to the Metal Slug games. Already available on the PSP it incorporates 7 levels and over 70 missions. Is it worth 1200MSP though? The new trend of all Arcade games costing 1200 is taking over.
Aqua: Naval Warfare is a boat war game supposedly. Looks kind of interesting, but is it worth a purchase?
Thoughts:
Supposedly the game is a lot of fun. I’m not much into point and click games but the general consensus is that the game is good and very humorous. The avatar stuff is also on sale, but they were included in the first stock of avatar items that came out, so everyone who buys avatar stuff pretty much has them because they were the only options when first released.

Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep is being released to the rest of the world on September 7th in NA, and September 10th in Europe. This PSP game has already been released in Japan by Square Enix since January, but now will be available to the rest of us. Though this game is still a prequel of a prequel of a prequel etc… Personally I don’t know how they are going to keep managing to release prequels to an already convoluted storyline. What I’m anticipating is when they finally release information on a Kingdom Hearts 3.
An excerpt from Square Enix’s press release:
A prequel to the mega-hit series, this pivotal installment takes players back to the beginnings of the Kingdom Hearts saga, long before Sora was chosen by his Keyblade. Players will explore iconic Disney worlds in a unique gaming experience that unfolds through the perspectives of three different main characters: Terra, Ventus and Aqua. Their journeys will take them through Sleeping Beauty’s Enchanted Dominion, the Dwarf Woodlands from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Deep Space from Lilo & Stitch. Additionally, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep includes four all-new multiplayer modes that allow players to enjoy the action with their friends.
Seems relatively interesting with the two other new main characters, however Ventus is somebody we already know from KH2 we learn more about his back story as well as two of his companions Terra and Aqua. However a few of the areas in which they are mentioning have already been visited in the many other Kingdom Hearts games, we shall see how it all turns out on September 7th.
