Feeling a little down after hearing that Gears of War 3 wouldn’t have a special gun from Bulletstorm or Shadow Complex? Well don’t let every bit of bad news get you down, because we have a few new Gears of War 3 screenshots to help wipe away those bad memories of a game restricted by Microsoft.
In these new screenshots we see Anya (the blond) planting her foot right in the midriff of a locust and then stomping her foot down on another locusts head. All the while we even see another locust get chainsawed from behind and punched out. Also we are able to see Marcus in a bit of new gear which includes a cut off armor design, which begs the question. Does a certain amount of badassery block bullets just as good as armor does?
MasterAbbott has a nice little surprise for you all today !! A while back when I had nothing else better to do with my free time. I created 3 short Animations entitled Ryu’s Quest. It was about Ryu trying to find his best mate Ken who had been kidnapped, along the way he meets up with a few Capcom characters from the Street Fighter and also Final Fight series. As we’re only a few short weeks away from Marvel vs Capcom 3 (BUY HERE) being unleashed upon the world, I thought I’d bring back Ryu’s Quest back out of the archives and share them with all of you. These 3 little episodes should get you in mood for some Capcom ACTION !!
Unfortunately I did stop at Episode 3. Ryu’s Quest is far from over. If you guys like it I could go back and try and do a few more episodes. Let me know what you think of them, hopefully I can make a few of you laugh 😉

Wait. What? Yes you read that right. Ubisoft has revealed that they will be making a new Call of Juarez game to make it the third of the series. It will be called Call of Juarez: The Cartel. While that isn’t surprising, what is surprising is the fact that this one will be set in a modern day Los Angeles. The previous two Call of Juarez games were set in the Wild West so it will be a big step up as far as a setting goes, but according to the boxart seen to the right then it looks like at least some of the Wild West will be retained.
More information and screenshots will be available in EGM in March as they have an exclusive look behind the scenes of Ubisoft’s upcoming game which is said to be coming this Summer in the US and Winter for you Aussies. Announcing a game and having it come out only a few months later? Talk about keeping a secret.
Adam Novickas, director of marketing for Techland/Ubisoft had this to say regarding the newest installment of Call of Juarez:
“Call of Juarez: The Cartel is an action-packed shooter game with a strong story, interesting characters and a wide variety of gameplay options. The game will bring the best elements of the Wild West into modern times with a very gritty and relevant plot.”
Bad news for people who had been twiddling their thumbs and not downloading the demo for Catherine on the PSN. Of course the demo was only available to those who made a Japanese PSN account (simple task), but now it is no longer available anywhere on the PSN. ATLUS has decided to remove the demo without much notification today. People who downloaded the demo already still have access to it of course, but for everyone else it is too late.
ATLUS released on their twitter that the download limit had been reached on the Catherine demo and this was the reason for the removal of the demo. Apparently the PSN charges fees to companies when they have a demo available for download for their game. Because of this, the fees possibly reached too high of a mark for ATLUS to find it profitable to keep the demo available. Though the Xbox Live demo is still available for anyone with a Japanese Xbox 360.
With the official U.S. release of Mario Sports Mix today, I thought I would show off a nice bit of promotional materia…cereal that Nintendo recently sent us. When it comes to throwing down in the Mushroom Kingdom on the court, nothing gets the team at Capsule Computers going more than a nice bowl of Mario Sports Mix. As you see above, this nice little mini-cereal box is being used to promote the new title, and inside the box is a small pouch of Mari-Os. I have encountered quite a bit of edible gaming swag in my time, but by far this is the most unique and clever, so a big thanks goes out to Nintendo for sending this.
Mario’s latest sports outing lets players experience Basketball, Volleyball, Dodge-ball and many other sports with the whole Nintendo charm. I have been having a lot of fun with the title myself recently and highly recommend it to any Wii owner who is craving tearing up the courts with Mario, Luigi, and many other famed Nintendo & Square characters. Our own Matt Vella reviewed Mario Sports Mix in full and gave it a 8.5 Capsules as well so you should definitely check out his detailed experience with the title by clicking HERE.
Ever plowed your way through a fighting game and thought to yourself the AI was just not enough of a challenge? Well there is good news for those who fall into this category as Capcom have now announced a new DLC add-on that looks to change this with Shadow Mode for Marvel vs Capcom 3. Releasing in March, these packs will consist of custom-built computer opponents, which are all crafted after famous players’ unique styles and teams. Each pack will include three teams specifically made with their own personally programmed special techniques and preferences.
Capcom have already revealed what to expect out of the first Shadow Mode pack over on their Capcom Unity blog, which will be the team and AI of producer Ryota Niitsuma, as well as teams for Assistant Producer Akihito Kadowaki and a QA team leader.
I am personally loving the concept behind Shadow Mode as the idea of extra challenge of any kind is good, but crafting the AI after specific players including that of the creators and producers of the game is genius as it connects the players to the team that built the game, shattering the fourth wall if you will. We still have a little over a week before Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds launches but with all of the news flowing for the title, I am sure there is even more to be announced during the next week, so stay tuned and get those fight sticks ready.
With the release of WWE All Stars right around the corner, THQ have now launched a new facebook app that lets fans get a taste of what is to come while allowing a chance to see some fantasy match ups between the best WWE Superstars of yesterday and today. The WWE All Stars Fantasy Warfare Application pretty much has you watch a video of a match from the new game, pick your favorite superstar, and then click your way through to victory.
While it mainly is just watching clips from the game, your actions do decide which signature moves are performed and as you progress through, “LOOT” is unlocked which consists of vintage wallpapers, “Macho Man” Randy Savage audio clips, WWE Shop discounts and more. What is really awesome about this new app is that new members of the WWE All Stars Roster will be revealed over time as the community shares the app with friends, filling up the bar at the top.
I gave this a whirl myself and while it is simplistic and more of a promotion technique rather than an actual game, I must say it made me really want to try WWE All Stars out even more as it seems to have an emphasis on just being an all out “fun” arcade fighter rather than a wrestling sim the the Smackdown series has drifted into. Either way, check out the WWE All Stars App out for yourself and watch some of this over-the-top action. Who knows, you just might get to hear some more awesome Macho Man quotes for simply sharing it out as well…OH YEAHHHHH!
Konami has announced that PES 2011 3D will be released along the Nintendo 3DS on March 25th across Europe, supporting the handheld console on its launch day.
PES 2011 3D makes use of the 3DS’ new features, utilising the 3D effects to give the matches a sense of depth, with everything searching long ball and crisp pass felt by those playing the game. It also makes use of the wireless connectivity, with two two players able to go head-to-head. There is also a further inventive use of Street Pass system, where systems will sense when another Master League team is in the vicinity, compare the strength of each side based on their respective strategies and stats. The stronger of the two sides will then emerge victorious.
The more of these strength comparisons you win, the higher your ranking will grow until you are promoted before reaching the top-flight and the Champions League ranking.
