Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll – Live Stream

1

So I just got Trinity: Souls of Zill O’ll and have been playing for about an hour (so you don’t have to sit through the boringness of RPG intros and tutorials).  I’m at a point where I feel it’s a good enough time to start streaming to show off the game.  For those who don’t know, T:SZO is a mix of hack and slash with adventure RPG.  You control one of 3 characters (the other 2 are AI controlled) while you quest through the labyrinthine maps that have become associated with dungeon crawlers.  Anyways, enough talk, off to the stream.  I’ll have the chat open so feel free to ask questions or what have you there, though I won’t be able to engage too much as I’ll be playing this.  Can’t be pausing every 5 seconds but yeah, feel free to join in the chat.

(Give me a minute to set it up.  I also suggest you download adblock plus for firefox so you don’t get interrupted by ads during the stream)

The Darkness II announced for fall 2011

2K Games announced today that 2007’s The Darkness is getting a sequel this year. The million unit-selling original fared well with both the public and critics, but after all this time and no news on a sequel, the announcement of The Darkness II comes as a huge surprise. The Darkeness II is scheduled to arrive on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC this fall, so it appears developer Digital Extremes was busy beavering away in secret with a release date so soon despite having only just been announced.

The Darkness II will take players down the brutal path of Jackie Estacado, wielder of The Darkness, as he makes use of his Demon Arms to carry out his ruthless motives. True to its comic book origins, the game will feature a hand-painted noir visual style and with award-winning comic book writer Paul Jenkins on board, it should also have a strong narrative behind the graphics.

While 2K Games aren’t giving much away at this stage, they have released an initial screenshot of the game. For anyone who played the original, the announcement of The Darkness II should have you very excited indeed.

MvC3 trailer reveals Galactus

This latest trailer has revealed the final boss of Marvel vs Capcom 3 as being Galactus.

The arcade mode will conclude with a battle against the absurdly large and powerful antagonist from the Fantastic Four Marvel series. As someone who watched the Fantastic Four/Silver Surfer cartoons when I was younger, I have fond memories of Galactus and it is great to see him brought to life in the game.

As you can see from the trailer, Galactus will be ridiculously deadly when you face him, with the ability to send out minions to battle for him, on top of getting his hands dirty and delivering damage himself. Coming up against this planet-munching behemoth looks like a fitting end to the arcade mode, and as we edge closer to the game’s February 18th release date on Xbox 360 and PS3, the game just keeps looking better and better.

New screens released! Warriors: Legends of Troy.

Warriors: Legends of Troy, developed by Tecmo-Koei, is a game about warring nations fighting it out over the love of a woman. The game is set over 3000 years ago and features mythological legends, visceral combat and maybe a history lesson or two.

Recently Tecmo-Koei shared a large batch of screenshots with the community and we’re presenting them to you on their behalf.

The rather impressive screenshots can be inspected below in the various galleries, separated as ‘Blood, ‘Characters’ and ‘Conquest’. The characters look rather good and are quite reminiscent of the soldiers from that era (as they should be). The environments seem to be Greek-ish, or Roman-ish. Something ancienty… Enjoy!

Don’t forget to check out the games official webpage.

Latest Dissidia 012[duodecim]: Final Fantasy trailer given English subtitles

Ready to see all of your favorite Final Fantasy characters join battle against one another in combat for Chaos and Cosmos. In the latest video released by Square Enix we see nearly six minutes of gameplay as we are introduced to many of the different fighters that will be doing battle in the game. Who is on which side? We’ll have to find out, though those who played the first Dissidia game may recognize some returning faces and take a guess on who is fighting with who.

Now you may recognize this trailer because it is the trailer that was released back during Square Enix’s Production Department conference. This time however it has English subtitles to go along with the Japanese dialogue.

Gameloft Presents – Starfront: Collision

Gameloft, creators of wholly original games, have launched ‘Starcra–‘ err… ‘Starfront: Collision’ on the iPhone.

The game features 3 playable races, The Wardens, The Myriads and The Consortium who are all at war with each other. The Consortium want to mine The Wardens primary mineral while the Wardens don’t want the Consortium to mine it. The Myriads just want to kill everyone else because they’re cool like that.

Or at least, that’s what I gathered from the trailer. The game looks like a promising Starcraft clone though and will likely keep RTS enthusiasts amused or, at the least, slightly entertained.

The game will be available (to quote gameloft) –

Available February 10th on the App Store, for iPhone & iPod touch (4G & 3G generations)

Enjoy the embedded trailer below.

–  Special note from Gameloft Twitter account : To make sure Starfront: Collision is perfect its release date has been moved to February 18th. Be sure your patience will be rewarded!

This Week On XBLA (2/08/2011)

These week we will be stacking, racers, all while enjoying some good ol’ fashioned retro shooters. TNT Racers, and Stacking are both available this wednesday, February 9th for you to purchase.

TNT Racers seems to be a pretty standard kart racer, while Stacking is a puzzle game where you you combine dolls to create traits that can help you complete puzzles. Have you decided which one to buy yet? If not you can always try the demos upon release.

As for the Deal of the week, they are quite the bargain with all the games being reduced to 400MSP, even the 1200 MSP Serious Sam games. If you haven’t picked up one or all of these titles, now would be a very good time to reach into your pocket and buy some Microsoft points.

Both XBLA are available from Wednesday, 9th February:

  • TNT Racers – 800 Microsoft Points
  • Stacking – 1200 Microsoft Points

This week’s Deal of the Week, which runs until Monday, February 14th, is themed “Retro Shooters”.

*Not available in Australia, OH THE IRONY!

New Gears of War 3 screenshots turn up

Feeling a little down after hearing that Gears of War 3 wouldn’t have a special gun from Bulletstorm or Shadow Complex? Well don’t let every bit of bad news get you down, because we have a few new Gears of War 3 screenshots to help wipe away those bad memories of a game restricted by Microsoft.

In these new screenshots we see Anya (the blond) planting her foot right in the midriff of a locust and then stomping her foot down on another locusts head. All the while we even see another locust get chainsawed from behind and punched out. Also we are able to see Marcus in a bit of new gear which includes a cut off armor design, which begs the question. Does a certain amount of badassery block bullets just as good as armor does?
