Music from Space Invaders: Infinity Gene to release soon in Japan…

If you have gotten a chance to play Space Invaders: Infinity Gene which released last year, you may have noticed that one of the most impressive aspects of the arcade title was the fast paced soundtrack. Fans of Infinity Gene can go ahead and get their music devices ready though as the full soundtrack has now been listed for pre-order. The only thing is, as of now only Amazon of Japan have it available but fear not, as I have a feeling Taito might be planning a wider release very soon.

Tracks Include:

1. Ancestor
2. Selection Complete
3. Survival Complete
4. Mutation Complete
5. Reproduce Complete
6. Manipulate Complete
7. Strategy Complete
8. Program Complete
9. Lifegame Complete
10. Great Mother
11. Child
12. Shadow
13. Anima
14. Hero
15. Devi
16. Trickster
17. Wise Old Man
18. Persona
19. Animus
20. Scarecrow
21. Unconscious
22. Strategic Deletion
23. I CAN NOT APE
24. BEFORE TEN ORB
25. BURN ALT AIR

Keep in mind that many of these tracks have never been released before outside of promotions. I personally cannot wait to blast the tunes to this one, as it looks to be jam-packed full of the best beats from Infinity Gene. As I mentioned, this is only available for pre-order in Japan at the moment, but I would keep an eye out on Amazon (and our very own Capsule Computers Store) as we could see this soundtrack cross shores any day now.

Transformers: Dark of the Moon movie tie-in announced

Fans of the Transformers games should be happy to hear that the latest movie from Michael Bay will also be getting a movie tie-in just like the past two movies. Of course this is either good news or bad news depending on how much you liked these games in the past. But one thing is different this time around. Beyond the new setting of course. There is something called a Stealth Force mode of play which, as you can see below, will leave your Transformer in car mode but also have a number of weapons at its disposal to help destroy your enemies.

High Moon Studios who made Transformers: War for Cybertron will be returning to make Dark of the Moon and will be releasing it for the Xbox 360 and PS3, with these versions taking place before the events of the film. Now the Wii and DS and eventual 3DS versions of the game will be made by Behaviour Interactive and they are expected to be released alongside the movie when it comes out in July.

Xperia Play will require repurchase of all PSN content

If you are a connoisseur of fine old video games then you may have downloaded a lot of old PlayStation 1 games on the PSN already. Now with the Xperia Play announced you may have thought that you were going to be able to transfer all of your already bought PS1 games right into your brand new smartphone. But think again.

It turns out that Sony Ericsson has made it so that the Xperia Play will require you to re-purchase any content that you have already bought. Nathan Vautier spoke out about this feature saying “Xperia Play owners will have to repurchase the games, so it’s not totally integrated.” This is a pretty cheap move as far as content supply goes. Sure the games may not cost as much as your usual retail game but it still could have been handled better so that loyal fans wouldn’t have to pay twice for the content they already own.

NIS America announces Cave Story 3D for 3DS

NIS America has announced that they will be publishing a remake of the DSi and Wiiware game Cave Story. First created for the PC back in 2004 it reached high levels of popularity in the Japanese market and it appears that NIS America is going to team up with developers Nicalis, who made the original Cave Story, to bring us Cave Story 3D for the 3DS.

Not too much is known at this moment about Cave Story 3D other than the fact that it will be a complete remake of the original series and have 3D graphics presented on a normal 2D plane and will contain everything that fans of the original game loved. There currently is no release date given nor a price tag on the game, but then again it was literally just announced. But one thing interesting is the fact that they do have a teaser trailer that you can catch below.

MW2 Security Update will address security issues

Although Modern Warfare 2 has been surpassed by its younger acolyte, Black Ops, Activision has apparently not forgotten the game.  The latest patch for the game has finished production and will soon be available for your hot little hands to download.  This patch will address security issues that have plagued online multi-player.  It will release on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and PC.  The forum post also mentions that the update will “address a small geo exploit on the map Fuel, which players exploited in order to get inside a rock on the outskirts of the map.”  As soon as we find out a date of release, we will let you know

Duke Nukem Forever has a Halo reference; Steve Gibson explains development

Nope you aren’t seeing things. Duke Nukem Forever has a Halo reference in it. Of course you can’t wear the iconic armor because Duke has a few choice words to say about walking around in a suit of armor the whole time. Lets just say that he thinks that anyone who wears it is some part of the anatomy of a woman.

Besides that fact however we also have a new video from Steve Gibson where he talks about what has happened over the years with Duke Nukem Forever and explains that nearly all of the original developers are working with GearBox and have their minds set on finishing Duke Nukem Forever. Catch the video below and see some new gameplay bits too, including a “back massager.”

Warriors: Legends of Troy new screens and info

For those of you who remember, Warriors: Legends of Troy is that Dynasty Warriors-esque title that takes place during the Trojan war.  This title has been sitting in the back of my mind ever since it was announced and today Koei released some new screenshots and info.

Among these new screens are a new character reveal, Ajax.  Ajax is sporting quite the massive shield and instead of a traditional sword or spear  he seems to be using a fist weapon (iron knuckles).  That should prove for some interesting combat.

Warriors: Legends of Troy looks to be much bloodier and gorier than it’s Dynasty Warriors counterpart, keeping true to the Trojan style and making this the first Dynasty Warriors inspired game to receive an M rating.  Legends of Troy is also sporting online co-op and online competitive multiplayer (how’s that gonna work?)  Much like Dynasty Warriors, Warriors: Legends of Troy makes use of factions, allowing the player to take sides on either the Greek or Trojan armies.

So Koei first tackled Chinese history with Dynasty Warriors, now they are onto Greek history with Warriors: Legends of Troy.  Hopefully this is a step in the right direction for making a DW inspired game that takes place in the medieval era making use of legendary knights like Lancelot, King Arthur and Merlin (come on Koei, you know you want to!)

Warriors: Legends of Troy is set to release on March 8th for NA and March 25 in EU for PS3 and 360.  Check out the official site for more information.

Arcana Heart 3 coming to PSN courtesy of Aksys

Arcana Heart 3 was released in Japan last month for the Xbox 360 and the PS3 but don’t fret, it will be making its way overseas as well in the form of a downloadable game. Aksys games announced today that they will be bringing the female only fighting game to the PlayStation Network sometime in the Spring.

Developed by Arc System Works the game will contain twenty three fighters which is three more than the previous Arcana Heart game. To top that off, players will be able to pair their fighters with twenty three arcana types which give them different fighting styles leading to quite a few possible combinations. Also included will be an in-depth story mode for the game as well as a Simple Mode for newcomers.

Currently there is no set release date other than Spring and no news of how much the game will cost when it does come out. But it is interesting to note that, even though it was released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan, Aksys has currently only released information about a PSN release which means that it could be a PSN exclusive.

Bizarre Creations closes its doors Friday

It certainly doesn’t seem to be a good time to be a game developer. There have been a number of gaming studios closing their doors and game franchises being shut down forever. Unfortunately there is another studio to tally up in the loss category. Bizarre Creations will be closing its doors for the final time this Friday on February 18th.

The news of this was announced back in November so this really isn’t brand new news, but regardless of that fact it is sad to see a gaming studio close its doors. Bizzarre Creations may not have a huge list of games that they were known for, but what they did release was quite popular for a time. These games include the Project Gotham Racing series, the Geometry Wars series, Blur and the most recent James Bond 007: Blood Stone.

Ubisoft Sells 10.5 Million Dance titles; More Coming…

While it isn’t too much of a surprise, Ubisoft have recently been boasting that they have sold over 10.5 million dance titles to date. Those titles included are the popular Just Dance 1 & 2, Just Dance Kids, & Michael Jackson: The Experience. Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, also confirmed in an investors Q&A today that there would be even more MJ titles coming out within the next couple of years (not counting the upcoming extensions for the Kinect & PSMove) and that the Just Dance series would be expanding to other consoles.

It looks like dance titles are the new “it” thing at the moment in the crowded music game genre, but I just hope Ubisoft takes into consideration how quick their success could end if they flood the marketplace. For now though, it looks like gamers will be dancing their way through many more titles as this wave approaches its peak.
