The Darkness II lets darkness reign in first gameplay trailer

The Darkness was never a great friend to Jackie Estacado in the first Darkness title and it seems the creature definitely won’t help him this time around either. Also it seems that somebody beleives Jackie isn’t the right man for the Darkness to be possessing anyways. All of this was revealed today after 2K games released a gameplay trailer of the title which shows what the Darkness does best, kill people and eat their hearts.

Digital Extremes and 2K Games will be showing off more of the title when E3 kicks off next week. We can consider this little trailer an appetizer of things to come. A bloody, dark, and a bit frightening appetizer. Catch the trailer below.

Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team announced as twin stick shooter

Warhammer 40K: Kill Team has been officially confirmed by THQ today. They have announced that Warhammer 40K: Kill Team will be available sometime in July and will be a tie-in to the full retail game; Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Kill Team is being developed by THQ’s Digital Studios UK which also handled the creation of Red Faction: Battlegrounds which further enforces the game tie-in as Battlegrounds was a tie-in to Red Faction: Armageddon.

Players will be able to select their space marine chapter and choose from four different classes; the Sternguard Veteran, Tech Marine, Vanguard Veteran and Librarian. The game will be a twin stick shooter and will feature two-player co-op. If you are able to beat the game you will also unlock the “Power Sword” for Space Marine when that releases on September 6th. Catch the game trailer for Kill Team below.

The Witcher 2 confirmed for Xbox 360

No more pretenses and guessing needed, The Witcher 2 will be available on the Xbox 360 by the end of 2011. CD Projekt Red held their Summer Days presentation in Los Angeles today and they announced that they will be bringing their latest hit title to consoles by the end of 2011. This confirms many people’s beliefs that there would be an announcement of some sort for a 360 version of the title, especially after the ESRB rated the game for console release.

CD Projekt Red also went on to say that the Xbox 360 version will have all of the PC updates that will be available when the game releases and a teaser video has been released which you can see below. They have yet to show off any gameplay however, but their representative says that The Witcher 2 on the Xbox 360 will be more of an adaptation on par with the PC version than a port. Interesting stuff that we’ll know more about at E3 when they reveal gameplay for the first time.

3DS browser update next week; lacks Flash support

Nintendo announced today on their Japanese website that they will be rolling out a large firmware update next week which will launch the eShop on the hand held as well as activate the web browser. This update was originally meant to come out in May but had been pushed back until next week. The web browser will not support Flash or PDF files however, meaning that some websites will be difficult to view on the handheld.

Andriasang has detailed the announcement saying that players can still download and save .JPG images from the web browser onto their SD cards as well as upload pictures from the 3DS’ camera. Parents can also set online restrictions with the parental control option in case you don’t want your kiddies to look at anything un-childlike on their Nintendo 3DS.

Saints Row: The Third given release date of November 15th

THQ has revealed today their first official trailer for Saints Row: The Third and this trailer also comes with something many fans of Volition’s outlandish sandbox title have been waiting for. A release date of course. Saints Row: The Third will be released to the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC on November 15th of this year, just in time for the holiday rush.

Of course the trailer itself is more than just a release date, it also helps to emphasize the fact that Saints Row: The Third will be just as over the top as the other two games. Nothing says a powerful gang like your enemies having to scramble thirty or so harrier jets to try and take down your faction. Catch the trailer below.

Uncharted 3’s Collector Edition contents revealed

If you feel like your Uncharted game collection just doesn’t have enough Drake in it, then you will be wanting to put aside a bit of extra money. Today Sony and Naughty Dog revealed what will be available if you purchase the Collector’s Edition of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. This includes everything that you see above, a replica of Nathan Drake’s belt buckle, a replica of his ring on necklace strap as well as a Nathan Drake figurine. The game itself will be sealed in a steelbook case and a traveling chest package. This package will cost $99.99 while the standard edition will still cost $59.99.

Sony also detailed what players will be able to get if they pre-order from various companies. Best Buy will offer players faster health regeneration, Amazon gives players the ability to throw three grenades at once and a larger clip for the Para 9 or G-MAL weapons, GameStop will be giving players the ability to turn into a swarm of deadly creatures in their “Creepy Crawler Kickback,” and Wal Mart will let players equip a laser sight to their AK-47 that all players on your team can see.

Darksiders 2 story trailer released

Darksiders II was revealed to be Game Informer’s cover story for July and today THQ has released a trailer for the title which seeks to bridge the gap between the two games. In an effort to save his brother War from being destroyed, Death sought out his own answers to the events that occurred in Darksiders 1. Game Informer was the first one to receive the trailer that you can find below, and in case it is taken down you can still view it on their website.

Besides setting up the story for Darksiders II we also see the horseman Death in action as well as see him riding upon his horse, which is called Despair. It seems that THQ is taking at least a few liberties with the whole four horsemen of the apocalypse thing, but at least the game still looks as good as the first one did.

Capcom removes character limiting DRM from Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition

With PC games being easily pirateable, most companies have included DRM in their PC titles. This is of course true with Capcom’s Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition. Of course sometimes the DRM measures are a bit too extreme, which was the case with SSFIVAE. Capcom announced some time ago that the DRM restrictions would make it so that anyone that is not connected to the internet with SSFIVAE would only be able to access less than half of the characters available in the game’s roster.

Of course, the gaming community was outraged by this and in a surprising turn of events, Capcom actually listened to their user base’s requests and are going to release a title update around the launch of SSFIVAE for the PC version of the game. This update will disable the DRM restriction on the roster, allowing offline users to play all 39 characters when they aren’t connected to the internet. It’s good to see Capcom actually listen to their users, though maybe they should still be working on y’know… Street Fighter V before the little initials SSFIVAE are longer than the actual title.

UFC Undisputed 3 releasing in January 2012

Fans of Mixed Martial Arts may have been a bit disappointed this year by the lack of games that focus on their sport of choice. There has been only one title even announced for this year, and that one has been pushed back until September. But you won’t have to be waiting much longer MMA fans, UFC and THQ have announced that they will be bringing UFC Undisputed 3 to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in January of 2012.

There will be two new weight classes added to UFC Undisputed 3 as well as the new PRIDE mode which allows players to fight in the Japanese MMA league where people can execute head stomps, knees to the head of downed opponents and of course, soccer kicks to downed opponents as well. Things are getting much more brutal in the octagon for fighters in these games, wonder where it will go next?
