Gameloft has released new screenshots for their mobile video game adaptation of Steven Spielberg’s upcoming blockbuster ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’. This video game adaptation of the famous comic book character Tintin follows himself, his faithful companion Snowy and inseparable friend Captain Haddock in search of treasure lost in the wreckage of “The Unicorn”.
Judging by the new screenshots, Gameloft seems to have captured the same look and feel of the film. Specially designed and created for mobile portable devices, ‘The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn’ will be available for iOS, Android and Java based smart phones and tablet devices in around October.
The Walt Disney company has announced a release schedule showing The Avengers Australian release date which may raise a few eyebrows. As it turns out, The Avengers is being released in Australia on April 25, 2012, while American theatres will receive it on May 4, 2012. That’s a week before American theatres! This isn’t anything new for Marvel Studios however, as Thor was released a striking 2 weeks earlier down under than it was in the states! On the other hand, Australia did get DC Comic’s Green Lantern a few months after it’s debut American release, so perhaps this makes things even for comic book fans?
Regardless, the cross-over of the hit Marvel films Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger is going to be a monumental achievement in comic book and film history, just hopefully it can live up to it’s hype! But how do you think the Avengers will go, and what do you think about Aussies getting it a week earlier? Let us know in the comment section below!
UTV Ignitions’s latest iOS title for the iPhone & iPad – Quarrel Deluxe combines great elements from such classic games as Scrabble and Risk. Today we have a fifteen minute run through on gameplay.
To give you a brief overview – In Quarrel, players control territories filled with various troops where the main goal is to crush their opposition’s territories with your vocabulary skills alone. Who said you need swords, grenades, tanks or AK-47’s to conquer the world, in Quarrel you can whack your enemies into submission simply by creating a better / higher scoring word. Sometimes. Whoever can dominated the entire map is then declared the winner. It sounds rather simple, but definitely different compared to what we usually see released in the genre. Developed by Denki and published by UTV Ignition, Quarrel combines a great blend of strategy and word skill that will keep your mind sharp and ready for action. Quarrel Deluxe is out now iPad/iPhone for $4.99. (Buy Now)

Treyarch has just released the next DLC for Black Ops on Xbox 360, with PS3 and PC versions to follow. However, many have been wondering about whether they will be getting some of the DLC for free, considering they bought a Prestige or Hardened edition of the game. In addition, the soundtrack to the game is also free, but to get to it, it requires a tad bit o’ work. Luckily the guys behind the game have offered some helpful tips over at their website, CallofDuty.com. Check out this post here for all your Rezurrection DLC FAQs. Have you been enjoying the zombie slaughtering fest so far?
Kontrol Freek has announced that they will be bringing out a special version of their control sticks for the release Gears of War 3. Dubbed the FPS Freek EPIC, these are designed specifically for third-person shooters, such as Mass Effect, SOCOM and, of course, the Gears of War series.
In addition, these accessories are tournament legal and are said to be “perfect” for chainsaw battles & medium to long range virtual gunplay. They will be available for purchase at the price of $13.99 on the 13 of September and they can be pre-ordered here. Will you be getting a pair? If you do, let us know if they really do improve that ol’ K/D ratio.
Those who are itching to play Trendy Entertainment’s upcoming action-RPG/tower defense hybrid are not going to have a long wait ahead of them, as it was announced today that the XBLA & Windows PC versions of Dungeon Defenders will be released on October 19th.
“It’s been a long time coming, but the day is finally here to announce when we’ll be unleashing the full console version of Dungeon Defenders upon the masses, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Jeremy Stieglitz, COO and co-founder of Trendy Entertainment. “The console version of Dungeon Defenders has more content, more depth and more challenge than many full retail boxed games, so we can’t wait to get it into players’ hands so they can experience this epic role playing game as it was intended to be played.”
For those who haven’t been following this title, Dungeon Defenders blends together the tower defense genre with action-RPG elements and allows for up to four players to join together in an offline or online drop-in/drop-out co-op experience to take down an ancient evil. As far as the way the game actually plays, this title uses a combination of hack and slash and real-time strategy to take down foes, which are two genres we don’t often see mixed together. Players can also expect a ton of looting, tradable pets, tons of game-play modes in this cell shaded adventure.
Those who want to try out the game early will also be pleased to know that be playable at PAX Prime at the Reverb Publishing booth #3652. A new trailer was also released to show off the Squire in action, which you can check out below. Dungeon Defenders is set to release (as mentioned) on the Xbox Live Arcade and PC on October 19th, with a PSN release date that will soon be announced.
PAX Prime is just days away, and as usual publishers and developers everywhere are beginning to reveal just what they will have in store for visitors. Nintendo will be very present at the event and are looking to make their mark by offering up a ton of contests, demos, and tournaments.
Between Aug. 26-28, Nintendo will be located at booth No. 462, level 4, and will have the likes of Super Mario 3D Land, Skyward Sword, Kid Icarus, and a ton of other upcoming 3DS, DS, and Wii titles all fully playable and on display at the event. In addition to game play on the main show floor, Nintendo also are inviting all guests to join them at the North Galleria, where two levels will be completely decked out with additional games and activities.
The third floor of the Nintendo Gaming Lounge will be decorated to celebrate the upcoming October 24th release of Kirby’s Return to Dreamland as well as September 19th’s Kirby Mass Attack and will feature Kirby pink cotton candy, Kirby bean bags to rest on, and plenty of Kirby swag to take home and wear. Kirby will also share the floor with Pokedex 3D, with activities such as large Pokémon AR markers and daily giveaways including collectible Pokémon AR marker cards while supplies last.
On the second floor of the Galleria, attendees will also be able to sign up for a Star Fox 64 3D tournament on the morning of Friday, Aug. 26, with the actual event taking place from 7-10 pm on Saturday, Aug. 27.
You can check out the full list of playable titles down below and get in on the action for yourself at the State Convention & Trade Center in Seattle, where Nintendo are sure to steal the show yet again.
2XL Games are preparing for their big launch of Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad for the Xbox Live Arcade and PSN, and with that a few new screenshots and a new trailer have been released to show the game in action. Now if you have by chance not heard of this upcoming offroad racer, now is a good time to take notice.
Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad puts players in the driver seat of four-wheeled 800 horsepower off road race trucks with both a single-player career mode and online multi-player. The career mode consists of Jeremy’s bid for the PRO-2 championship within the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series, where players will get their chance to play as the legend himself as they race throughout several tracks. There will also be plenty of variety as far as vehicles go, featuring the likes of Rally Cars, Pro Buggies, and Trophylite Trucks, which all run at a nice 60 FPS in a 1080p presentation.
The new trailer shows off all of this action with clips from the actual gameplay, and while the racing looks fantastic, I must say I am also very impressed by the detailed environments within. You can buckle your seatbelt and watch the new clip down below and feast your eyes upon the fresh batch of screenshots released today while your at it. Jeremy McGrath’s Offroad launches later this year and once we get a release date on this new offroad experience, we will be sure to bring you an update.
