Tru Blu Entertainment has revealed that the game, both for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, will be released on the 2nd of September in New Zealand and the 8th of September for Australia and South Africa. There was no mention of any other countries, especially the European countries where rugby union is massive. In Australia, the game will be released with the name Wallabies Rugby Challenge, the New Zealand version will be named All Blacks Rugby Challenge and the mane for the rest of the world is Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge.
“The anticipation for Rugby Challenge has reached fever pitch, and we are excited to finally announce a release date” said Sebastian Giompaolo, Managing Director for Tru Blu Entertainment. “We look forward to delivering the game into the hands of eager fans across all major markets”.

What face will you be wearing when you take on the dragons of Skyrim? Well we’ve already seen what the characters themselves can look like when they are all put together, but those are all just singular faces placed on top of bodies. How about seeing an entire galleries worth of faces for each class that is playable in Skyrim? Well my friends we are in luck, because today Bethesda released the below compilation images.
These compilation images show off twenty different preset faces for each playable race which will be used in the full The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim title when it is released in November. There are two hundred different faces to see here, which means that if you aren’t currently scanning through your favorite race to see what type of customization will be available then shame on you. Personally I’m going to have to vote for Khajiit. What do you think?
Those girls up there sure look happy, and they have and good reason to be, because Natsume has announced that the game they are in, Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny has officially received its release date. The even better news is that it won’t even be that long until the game comes out, as the release date in North America is September 27th.
This announcement did much more than just reveal a release date however, it also released some new information about the English localization. Aden and Sonja are the official names of the playable characters, though you can re-name them if you wish. The game will have 30 different islands that can be explored and each has different seasons apart from one another, and players will traverse between islands with by riding on a giant rock monster named Ymir. Hiro Maekawa, President and CEO of Natsume says that the “ocean setting will have players adventuring for hours, and the great characters will really help pull them into the world” which sounds exactly like what fans of the Rune Factory series are looking for.
Also released alongside this announcement was a whole slew of new gameplay screenshots for the game which you can see below. The first half of the screenshots are for the PlayStation 3 version of the title and the second half are for the Wii version.
So, EA, how much more anger can you wring out of the PC gaming crowd? Well apparently a lot more, because Electronic Arts’ Origin service may actually be just as bad as Spyware because of a number of features that are included without much choice to the user. Originally discovered by Reddit, Destructoid reports that the EULA (End User License Agreement) which you must agree to to install the service, allows EA to snoop around your hard drive and spy on your files.
The terms of service agreement says that EA can not only identify what your computer is, the operating system your using as well your installed/uninstalled software/hardware, but also use this information to pass along to their third party companies for advertising and anything else they see fit. There is no way to avoid this intrusion without completely ignoring Origin, though without it, you will be unable to play Battlefield 3 on PC…
The exact wording in the EULA can be read below:
2. Consent to Collection and Use of Data.
You agree that EA may collect, use, store and transmit technical and related information that identifies your computer (including the Internet Protocol Address), operating system, Application usage (including but not limited to successful installation and/or removal), software, software usage and peripheral hardware, that may be gathered periodically to facilitate the provision of software updates, dynamically served content, product support and other services to you, including online services. EA may also use this information combined with personal information for marketing purposes and to improve our products and services. We may also share that data with our third party service providers in a form that does not personally identify you. IF YOU DO NOT WANT EA TO COLLECT, USE, STORE, TRANSMIT OR DISPLAY THE DATA DESCRIBED IN THIS SECTION, PLEASE DO NOT INSTALL OR USE THE APPLICATION. This and all other data provided to EA and/or collected by EA in connection with your installation and use of this Application is collected, used, stored and transmitted in accordance with EA’s Privacy Policy located at www.ea.com. To the extent that anything in this section conflicts with the terms of EA’s Privacy Policy, the terms of the Privacy Policy shall control.
Things have been going from bad to worse with Ubisoft’s From Dust PC port. First they enraged fans with the terrible DRM authorization, then when fans actually played the title they found it to be nothing but a buggy and technical mess. Because of this, Ubisoft is attempting to make amends by authorizing Valve to refund any Steam customers who find themselves unhappy with their From Dust game.
Rock Paper Shotgun reports that many of their readers received emails from Steam Support saying “If you don’t want to wait for the patch or if you haven’t played the game, per Ubisoft’s request, we will issue refunds this title.” This is good news for gamers, but bad news for From Dust which honestly is an enjoyable little title for short periods of time, though that was on the Xbox 360.
Here is some very good news for all of you famished Wii owners out there. Telltale games announced today that they have now signed a deal with Nintendo of America that will enable their titles to be published on the Wii. To make matters more exciting, the first title that will be published by the developer is the PC favorite, Back to the Future: The Game.
CEO Dan Connors had this to say on the new milestone for Telltale:
“Securing a publishing agreement with Nintendo of America ensures that we can make our popular content available on every major console platform. This signing is a significant milestone in our long-term growth strategy, “said Telltale co-founder and CEO, Dan Connors. Back to the Future: The Game is a great fit for the Wii platform and we’re excited to bring it to retail this holiday.”
Back to the Future will become available for the console this October and will be priced at just $19.99. Hopefully, more titles will be revealed later down the line for the Wii such as Puzzle Agent and the other heavy hitters, but for now, it is still rather exciting to hear that Wii owners will be getting some Telltale love as soon as October.
Bad news for any Australian gamer hoping to play the updated version of Sega’s House of the Dead: Overkill. The title has been refused classification in Australia, which means it is banned from being sold in the country. The R18+ rating which has been approved by legislation has not been applied and will be done so later this year, but unfortunately not soon enough for House of the Dead: Overkill Extended Edition.
The game has been banned for “high impact violence” which is strange considering the Wii version of the title was left alone and released without censorship. This banning is a bit strange considering other games with more intense violence are given MA15+ ratings and slide by without a hitch. You can find the full description below as provided by Gamespot, though perhaps this ban won’t last long as SEGA has already stated they will appeal this decision.
The game contains very frequent, unrelenting and detailed violence accompanied by copious blood and gore detail inflicted on zombies and mutant beings. The player can use a variety of weapons including a crossbow that causes the zombies/mutants to explode on impact as well as handguns, hand cannons, machine guns, mini guns and assault rifles that may cause decapitations, dismemberment and blood spray.
The “Hardcore” game mode allows the player to play in a manner that exceeds strong in impact engaging a headshot-only mode which results in frequent, detailed blood and gore as the zombies and mutants heads explode into bloody pieces that spread around the environment and onto the screen. The game also contains an “Extra mutants mode” which increases the amount of mutants the player must kill to proceed, resulting in an increased intensity and frequency of violence. In addition the game contains a baby mutant that jumps onto the screen and explodes into bloody chunks when killed.
For those hoping to acquire a Star Wars themed Xbox 360, or even those aiming a little lower at the Kinect Star Wars title for this holiday season, we have some bad news for you. Microsoft told the Official Xbox Magazine UK today that they had to make the difficult decision to delay the title and bundle until next year so that the game will reach its “full potential.” No updated release date was given at the time of this reveal.
This is rather sad news for Kinect owners as this would easily have been one of the best titles to pick up this holiday season, especially for avid Star Wars fans. Though that doesn’t mean that there won’t be plenty of other Kinect titles out this holiday season.
It seems that Chunsoft, the team behind the escape focused title 999: 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors is going to be joining forces yet again to create another title similar to the first at least in regards to its genre. Andriasang reports that Famitsu has printed some information for their new title, saying it will not be a sequel but could still take place in the same relative gamespace.
The game will be called Gyokugen Dasshutsu Adv: Zennin Shiboudes while the Gyokugen Dasshutsu roughly translates into Extreme Escape, which was the same beginning half of the Japanese version of 999. The title is being developed for both the PlayStation Vita and the Nintendo 3DS, but at the moment there is no news if this title will be brought overseas once completed.
