3DS Aqua Blue to be Phased Out of Production

Nintendo have revealed that they intend to phase out the Aqua Blue version of the Nintendo 3DS in the coming months. As it turns out Nintendo has decided to no longer produce the Aqua Blue coloured 3DS which was one of the two available colours along side Cosmo Black at the launch of the console.

It is unknown why Nintendo has made this decision, but if you wanted an Aqua Blue 3DS now is the time to get it as they will soon be conclusively phased out in favour of a new line up of 3DS colours such as Flare Red, Misty Pink, Ice White and Cobalt Blue. The Cosmo Black version which launched alongside the Aqua Blue version does not appear to be going out of production, so that will still be available if that is the version you were after.

The phasing out of the Aqua Blue 3DS is currently only happening in Japan. It is unknown whether other regions will follow suite and phase the model out as well. What do you think of Nintendo phasing out what is arguably the most recognisable variant of their 3DS console? Let us know in the comments section below.

Stan Lee is a Pre-Order Bonus for The Amazing Spider-Man

Activision’s Spider-Man franchise has been hit and miss throughout the years, but there is no denying how much fun it is to play as your favorite web-slinger while flying through a crowded city. Making the upcoming The Amazing Spider-Man more appetite inducing is a somewhat minor pre-order bonus from Amazon, which blows all other retailer offerings out of the water.

As you see in the epic screenshot above, the legendary Stan Lee will grace the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of the game, but only for those who snag the code from Amazon, who have listed the bonus as “limited”. Lee will also have his own mission, which will tie into the 50th Anniversary of the franchise and of course will dawn all of Spidey’s powers. Pretty awesome stuff, and a nice treat for those who buy early from the right place.

Monsters have Jobs in Bravely Default

In classic RPG fashion your party in the upcoming 3DS RPG game Bravely Default are able to aquire different Job classes which of course allows them different skills. But it’s not just your party characters that can get Jobs, so too can some of the enemy characters in the game.

In what can only be called a unique twist on the classic RPG Job System, Bravely Default has enemies known as Job Masters, which as you would imagine grant characters certain Jobs once defeated in battle. These Job Masters vary in size, strength and form, with better Jobs requiring players defeat stronger Job Masters.

What do you think of this new take on Job Systems? Sound of in the comments section below with your thoughts.

This Week’s Nintendo Downloads are All About the Wii…and Sudoku

Yeah, you heard that right. The Wii has gotten not one, but two worthy titles this week via Nintendo Download. The first up is the most exciting, with Monster World IV seeing a long awaited translation and release on the Virtual Console. For those curious of what Monster World IV is about, this title puts players in the role of Asha, who sets out on a journey with a monster and a genie to save as well as defeat some Elemental Spirits. This import/translation won’t set back anyone’s wallet by much either, as all can download the Genesis gem for just 900 points.

On the subject of the Wii, monsters, and Sega in general, you also should consider snagging up a game from the same franchise titled Wonder Boy in Monster Land. Yeah, it’s a lot easier to find in the states due to the prior availability on multiple platforms, but for 900 points as well, you can’t go wrong with adding yet another classic to your console.

The 3DS eShop is also seeing a little bit of life this week in the form of Sudoku by Nikoli. Priced at $4.99, players can expect to see 50 puzzles crafted by the genius who created the game and dawned the name. Finally, the DSiWare has also been shown some lovin with Paul’s Shooting Adventure 2, which takes players back to the days of side scrolling shooters as they take on an evil insect race for $1.99.

Max Payne 3’s launch trailer shows a man lost in his past

With the release of Max Payne 3 next week it only makes sense that Rockstar Games choose to release a dramatic and cinematic launch trailer for the game a week ahead of time. This rather artistic trailer fits rather well with the story of Max Payne’s life so far.

You see, the tragedies that stole his loved ones many years ago still haunt Max Payne and because of this, he has lost nearly everything. In an effort to get back on his feet and get off of the pain killers Max travels to São Paulo, Brazil to take care of a family of the wealthy real estate mogul Rodrigo Branco. However when things go south Max finds himself on the streets of Brazil alone and searching for answers. It will be up to you to guide Max Payne on this journey of possible redemption when the game is released next week on May 15th.

All of Lollipop Chainsaw’s unlockable alternate costumes revealed

Some of you may remember a few months ago when it was revealed, much to everyone’s joy, that all of Juliet’s alternate costumes would be available worldwide when Lollipop Chainsaw is released in about a month. At the time however no one knew whether these outfits would simply be included in the game free of charge or would be placed as pre-order bonuses, forcing players to only have one of her many outfits.

Thankfully only a couple of outfits are hidden away, such as the Goth Girl, Foxy Funk, Rockabilly and Evil Dead costumes as pre-order bonuses while every other costume, including anime related ones and risque ones are avaiable for unlocking in the game. The list, revealed today by Warner Brothers, can be seen below with rather humorous descriptions for each.

Diesel Stuff Pack Coming to the Sims 3

Ready for some “successful living”? Are your Sims ready? Well EA/Maxis are happy to oblige, announcing the release of a Diesel branded Stuff Pack coming soon to a neighbourhood on your hard drive. What this particular fashion brand has to do with successful living I’m not sure, but both clothing and furniture from Diesel’s 2012 Spring/Summer Collection – currently available in stores and online! – will be included in the pack.

Over three dozen clothing items will be included, catering for male, female and young Sims. Joining the brand’s signature denim collection will be household items such as  sofa, coffee tables and a bed, forming a collection of over a dozen objects. Some of these items are also available in the real world, so you and your favourite virtual people can wear the same designer duds.

No release date has been confirmed, but expect to see the pack hit stores and Origin within a few months time.
