Rayman GBC is set to Hit the eShop..This Week

We don’t see a lot of Game Boy Color titles hit the 3DS’ virtual console, which is probably due to how many more original Game Boy games Nintendo have left to port. Either way though, Rayman is ready to make his Virtual Console debut in the form of his Game Boy Color offering. When will his holy Armlessness arrive you ask? Well, for both Europe and North America, the answer is this week.

Aside from Shantae (which is the best looking game on the classic handheld), Rayman was one of the most bold and colorful titles for the Game Boy Color, giving us who grew up with it a reason to upgrade from the green and black brick. Pricing has yet to be confirmed, but keep an eye out Thursday, as we will have all the juicy details on Rayman and Nintendo’s other eShop releases when everything is officially listed.

Nintendo Power outs Castlevania for the 3DS

Castlevania…on the 3DS. I have been waiting to hear of a Castlevania title for the 3DS for some time now, and Konami thankfully have delivered with an announcement in the latest Nintendo Power. Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirrors of Fate will grace the 3DS in the future, and will take place after the events of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, placing the player in the role of Trevor Belmont.

There isn’t a ton of details, but we do now know that this title will lead up to a proper sequel that will hit the PS3, Xbox 360…and possibly the Wii U later down the line. Mirrors of Fate will also be a 2.5D game, which will be interesting to see as there is sure to be a mix of that old Castlevania flavoring with the combo stylings of Lords of Shadow.

So, who else is excited? This news is fantastic and is yet another reason to tune in to our coverage of Konami’s pre-E3 event on May 31st. Stay tuned!

Majesco announce new Cooking Mama Double Packs for the DS & Wii..

I’m sure there are plenty of you who have yet to try out all of Mama’s offerings during the past generation. The thing is, most Mama titles are solid and enjoyable, and Majesco are now preparing to share the love all over again with 3 new bundles.

First up we have a DS release by the name of Mama’s Combo Pack Volume 1. This bundle of course features the original Cooking Mama, as well as the unique yet still pleasing Camping Mama: Outdoor Adventures. Next is another DS release by the name of…yep, you guessed it, Mama’s Combo Pack Volume 2 which features Cooking Mama 2: Dinner With Friends and Crafting Mama.

Rounding out the value packs is a Wii release, which will feature Cooking Mama Cook Off and Cooking Mama World Kitchen on a disc titled Mama’s 2 Pack. These Wii titles work about like the Nintendo DS titles as far as concept goes, but utilize the motion controller to turn your WiiMote into a skillet, a knife, or a roller.

Not a bad lot at all. If all these two packs weren’t savory to you as of yet, you should also consider the value as each duo will hit shelves at just $29.99 each. I know I have said it before, but there is a reason why the Cooking Mama series has sold so well during the past five years, and these packages are well worth picking up if you happened to have missed out on any of Mama’s Kitchen (or other) adventures.

Zombie Burst Invades the Appstore

I’m sure many of you have now heard about the events in Florida, and there is a good reason to start preparing for a Zombie Apocalypse. The first rule of thumb is to aim for the head with any undead – which is exactly what CatFoster Media’s Zombie Burst for the iOS is all about.

Zombie Burst puts you in the role of a sole survivor after a massive outbreak, with each zombie dawning a pimple-esque cranum. As you might of guessed, you must pop each zombie’s skull in order to survive in the city of Chicago, with leaderboards and plenty of extra content to keep you busy during the battle.

Extra features Include:

  • Four Zombie Classifications to Annihilate: Pea Head, Brains, Gallon and Dome – each has its own unique strengths and characteristics that make it difficult to catch and kill
  • Goo Galore: Every bursting brain splatters goo on the screen making it increasingly harder to see the enemies; be quick to clean the screen or suffer deadly bites
  • 10 Levels: Destroy thousands of zombies through 10 challenging unlockable levels, each set in environments inspired by real Chicago locations and landmarks from a dismal bathroom and monumental movie theater to a glowing gas station and legendary Lower Wacker Drive.
  • Lethal Leaderboards: Become the ultimate zombie destroyer and track your achievements and rank in Game Center; increase your standing as you replay unlocked levels
  • Bonus Content: Keep the zombie battle fresh with new levels, characters and in-game content released through updates shortly after launch.

See? You can fight the danger at home, without any worry of having your face eaten off. Zombie Burst is now available in the AppStore for just $.99, and it would be wise to grab a copy now while the resources are still among us. You can also check out the official trailer down below.

For those on a mobile device, you can buy the App by following this little link. Enjoy!

20th Anniversary PS Vita title from Nippon Ichi named and detailed

Over the past few weeks Nippon Ichi has been teasing a mysterious PlayStation Vita game, providing almost zero information about the game except for one teaser image. However today this week’s Dengeki PlayStation has plenty of information for those eager to learn more about this mysterious title.

Andriasang reports that the game’s title will be Tokushu Houdoubu (Special Report Division). The game’s genre is meant to be adventure, but supposedly it will not play like a normal text adventure title.  The game will revolve around reporting and allow players to experience television production. In fact, it appears that portions, if not the whole game, will place players behind a camera viewfinder. Interesting…

There likely is more to the title which hasn’t been revealed yet, but it is worth noting that Nippon Ichi has been working with the Nagoya television studio to make sure everything is authentic. Currently the game is set to be released on August 23rd in Japan.

Second Surge Concerto Ciel Nosurge title announced

Last month Gust released their first PlayStation Vita title, Surge Concerto Ciel Nosurge which turned out to be quite a surprising success in Japan. Some may not remember, but back when Gust first revealed the game they stated that it would be part of a series of games.

Well it turns out that that is actually true as Gust has announced in Dengeki PlayStation that the second volume of Surge Concerto Ciel Nosurge will be released on June 28th in Japan. Currently no information beyond the game’s release date is known besides the fact that the title will contain a few new characters. Expect some more information in the coming weeks and maybe even a localization announcement of the first title.
