Assassin’s Creed 3’s E3 Trailer Emerges

Well, if any of you wanted to know exactly how Assassin’s Creed 3 will play out, you should now be happy as Ubisoft revealed a very nice CG trailer for the upcoming sequel to the blockbuster series. This trailer shows off the main protagonist Connor in the American Revolution setting, who is half British, half Native American, and ready to kill everything in sight.

According to Ubi, “you will become the spark that ignites the revolution into a full blaze”, meaning this character is going to be sure to have an interesting tale that is sure to be full of sex, betrayal, and death…you know, your typical Assassin’s Creed fare. I must say though that I didn’t like the whole American Revolution setting before, but it has grown on me now and I can easily say that this game is now on my want list. Check out the brand new trailer below and stay tuned, as there is more Assassin’s Creed 3 coverage to come.

Zombie U Announced For The Wii U

One of the most interesting highlights of Ubisofts’ E3 Press Conference was the debut trailer of the brand new Wii U exclusive title Zombie U.

While very little is known about Zombie U at this point in time it is clear that it will be a very mature game with a dark and gritty tone, filled with beautiful blood and gore. A tag line has been included for the game asking the audience the question “How long will you survive?”

Zombi U is set to be a first-person shooter that utilizes the Gamepad as a survival kit’ during gameplay. This terrifying survival horror game set during a zombie apocalypse is set to be a Wii U launch title and one of the many reasons gamers will pick up a Wii U at launch.

Watchdogs E3 Coverage – Ubisoft’s Awesome New IP

Watchdogs from Ubisoft Montreal is looking like it’s going to be an amazing new IP for this publisher and developer. The game looks like it’s a sort of cyberpunk story in a city that is always networked and everything is controlled by a standalone computer called CTOS.

Unfortunately for the citizens of this city, CTOS is being used to collect information on all of its inhabitants and using it against them for nefarious purposes by the corporations. Of course, if corporations can do it, then why can’t hackers? And that’s where the game comes into it. Using hacking skills, why can’t you control the city?

Players will utilise hacking skills to tap into conversations, control technology to their benefit and even more. This is certainly a new IP that I am looking forward to playing as it looks simply amazing and the concept is something that appears to be quite interesting.

Rayman Legends Revealed for the Wii U

Ladies and Gentleman, the first official game has now been shown off for the Wii U, and it looks like liquid happiness. Rayman Legends has been officially revealed, and Ubisoft made sure to show the brilliance of the game itself.

First up, the Wii U’s Gamepad can be used to control a new supporting character by the name of Murphy. This little flying assistant of sorts is controlled by another player and can perform several techniques to help Rayman and Globox as they progress throughout the beautifully designed world.

Players can also utilize the Wii U Pro Controller to play as the main characters, which should be much more comfortable for those who are accustomed to your standard control fare. Lums can also be sprouted with the Gamepad as well, adding yet another use for the touchscreen pad.

I am pretty excited for Legends myself, as Origins was fantastic and this title looks to improve everything this time around while retaining all of that colorful charm. Hopefully more will become known about this cheeky adventure down the line, but for now you can check out the official gameplay video down below.

Far Cry 3 gets a Steamy New Trailer that is on the Edge of Sanity

Far Cry 3 was subtly revealed last year, and it’s visual design was pretty impressive from the little bit we seen. This year, things are different and Ubisoft started their show with a bang by displaying a nice little sex scene at the start of a gameplay demonstration. The Crytek engine has brought this game to life, as the colors are vivid and the world blends together perfectly with the motley cast of characters.

This Far Cry will be the most ambitious yet, with an open world and a brand new narrative that fans and newcomers alike are sure to enjoy. Check out the shiny new E3 trailer below, and stay tuned as Far Cry 3 is set to launch this fall for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, so more details are sure to come.

Tournament service coming to Xbox Live, plus more updates

Although Microsoft had plenty of announcements this year, they still left a ton of stuff out.  In a letter written after the show was over, Marc Whitten detailed how the Xbox Live would be hosting tournaments on the service in the near future. He explains:

We are working with Virgin Gaming to launch a new tournament service on Xbox LIVE, later this year. This new entertainment app will allow players to choose from a wide variety of free-to-play or paid-entry tournaments and head-to-head matches, for top titles from leading publishers. Xbox LIVE Tournaments, powered by Virgin Gaming, makes tournaments easy to join, fun and accessible to all types of gamers.

Marc Whitten also revealed that the Xbox would be getting a slew of updates.

THQ gave UFC rights to EA for an “undisclosed cash payment”

When Electronic Arts revealed that they were partnering up with UFC for a multi-year, mutli-product deal, I’m sure many of you were curious as to what happened to UFC’s previously exclusive deal with THQ? Well it seems that the only thing EA needed to do to get the title was give quite a bit of cash to the failing publisher.

The amount of cash that was given to THQ was simply described as an “undisclosed cash payment” by THQ. Their CEO Brian Farrell stated “We have relished our relationship with UFC over the last several years and believe that the UFC gaming brand is in great shape. THQ’s more focused strategy moving forward meant that transferring the license to EA made sense to all parties. We would like to thank UFC for their great support and partnership and wish EA all the best moving forward.” Perhaps this boost in cash will keep THQ alive a bit longer, perhaps not.

Summer of Arcade schedule completely revealed

After Microsoft’s E3 conference, Marc Whitten had a press release all ready to go. Just Dance 4 announced by Ubisoft and Flo Rida

Are you ready for Just Dance 4? Well, Ubisoft sure hopes you are, because today they opened up their pre-E3 conference with a performance by Flo Rida and some ladies under a banner saying Just Dance 4. So… there you go have some Flo Rida as he just dances.

Either way, the title will interestingly enough only be released on the Wii and the Wii U, which is strange considering Just Dance previously has appeared on the Kinect. Either way, this means that potential Wii U buyers will have a chance to dance along to new tracks, in many different modes including a new battle mode and puppet master mode. The game is set to be released in October so expect the Wii U to be out sometime around them.

DLC for South Park will be timed exclusive on Xbox 360

The first three DLC episodes for the game will launch on the Xbox 360 first. Plus, there will be a Mysterion Superhero DLC pack  adding an exclusive superhero costume, attack and weapon to the 360.

All preorders of the game include  the Good Times with Weapons DLC pack. This pack includes an exclusive attack, weapon and samurai costume.
