Kazuo Hirai Officially Steps Down From SCE CEO Position

0

While everyone knew that Kazuo Hirai will be leaving Sony Computer Entertainment full time to take up the President and CEO positions of Sony Corporation for quite some time, Sony did officially confirm his departure as Representative Director and Chairman of SCE. He will still remain on the board, but in a part time position, reducing his work load with SCE and, in effect, the Playstation brand. A new chairman has not been announced at this time.

This isn’t a surprise as Hirai was appointed President and CEO of Sony Corporation on April 1 and, with the troubles Sony is facing at the moment, Hirai would require his full attention to bring the electronic giant back in the black. Hirai came from Sony Computer Entertainment and helped the Playstation brand to become the mammoth brand it is today, so his decreased presence will surely be felt. With that said, Hirai does have plans to use the Playstation brand to help the company as a whole.

Grab Bullistic Unleashed by the Horns for Free

Bullistic Unleashed is a physics puzzler app developed by Millipede Creative Development that allows you to harness the power of bulls and their balls to crush a mall. It’s as ridiculous as it sounds, and totally caters to those of us who have a bit more of an immature sense of humour.

While the game came out a month ago, it is actually now being offered for FREE for a limited time. So whether you’re hunting for a game to spend some time on, or are a physics puzzle fan, this is the perfect time to pick yourself up a new app!

Bullistic Unleashed is part Angry Birds and part Jackass, with the physics gameplay that you know so well from those little furious birds, to the out there, ridiculous humour of Jackass. So if these two things happen to be likes of yours, definitely take a look at grabbing this game!

We have a review of the app here on the site, just in case downloading an app for free seems to be too much trouble for you. Read it HERE.

Bullistic Unleashed is available for iPhone, iTouch and iPad for FREE for a limited time. Grab it HERE.

Gurren Lagann 5th Anniversary

RAW! RAW! FIGHT THE POWER! That war cry has been heard for the past 5 years from fans of the now legendary GAINAX produced anime series Gurren Lagann. That’s right it was 5 years ago that Gurren Lagann originally aired in Japan and GAINAX have made sure to celebrate this landmark series’ 5th anniversary in style.

They have confirmed that there will be several special projects taking place to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Gurren Lagann. So far they have revealed that there will be special figures released in particular a new model of fan favourite character Yoko which can be seen below.

Speculation has been running rampant that one of these projects could be a new anime production (perhaps an OVA or film). However this has not at all been confirmed.

We will keep you updated on the 5th anniversary celebrations of Gurren Lagann as it comes to light. Be sure to let us know what you think of the 5th anniversary of Gurren Lagann in the comments section below.

DmC To Feature Dubstep And Industrial Soundtrack

Earlier today Capcom had announced the artists behind the DmC – Devil May Cry soundtrack. These artists each specialise in a different kind of sound that will each add their own flavour to the Devil May Cry game. After listening to one of the songs that are to feature in the soundtrack, I must say that I am looking forward to listening to this games soundtrack in its entirety.

On the Dubstep side of things, we have Noisia who have put together an amazing electronic sample track that players are now able to download off of Facebook. Us guys here at Capsule have listened to this track already and we each have a differing opinion on its place in the DmC franchise.

On the Industrial side, we have the band Combichrist doing the soundtrack. After listening to a few of their tracks on Youtube, I can say that they’re a pretty good band and I’ll probably buy one of their albums off iTunes. I’m confident that they’ll be putting a decent spin on the DmC soundtrack.

I have some concerns over the new DmC game after hearing the kinds of music that will be included in the soundtrack. The original Devil may Cry games had a very dark and Metal styled soundtracks that fit the theme of demon hunting and murdering quite well. Now we have this electronic soundtrack that is much closer to The Matrix, which should be better used to portray a Cyberpunk setting. However, although I have these concerns, this soundtrack might fit the game quite well. I’m willing to give it a chance before chucking a stink like most gamers will be.

This racer throws players on some beautiful dirt tracks where players can sling mud in multiplayer, unlock vehicle upgrades, and enjoy a simple yet satisfying career mode that is sure to please anyone looking for a more arcadey experience.

They were inspiring,” said Robb Rinard, creative director at 2XL Games. “We wanted to recapture what was great about those games while making something our own. I’m proud of what we’ve created, and I’m more than ready to take on some challengers online.”
