Digimon Masters Is Now 1 Years Old

0

Players of the Digimon Masters MMORPG will be enthused to know that the game has only just turned one year old. As an MMORPG, the first year is often a turbulent time. What this means is that often a game will start with a high playerbase and then it will steadily drop players until it becomes unfeasible to run. Fortunately it seems that the game survived this first year and has therefore avoided the fate of many other games.

On the birthday, Joymax had this to say –

“It’s always a special moment when one of our games hits its anniversary,” said Nam-Chul Kim, CEO of Joymax,  “It reminds us of how we started off and how the game has lasted this long through the love and interest from our players.”

To celebrate the games success so far, there are plans to have eight different events go up for players to participate in. The event has players collecting some digital cake and working towards earning rare DigiEggs. Players will also notice a 30% increase in speed during the duration of the event.

PES 2013 Cover and Steelbook Unveiled

Following on shortly after the confirmation of several continuing licenses and partnerships that will keep PES 2013 going strong, Konami have revealed the cover art for the game and announced the pre-order incentives. With UEFA still along for the ride there will be be a special pre-order edition of the game celebrating the partnership. The rather slick UEFA Steelbook edition is pictured below, and will feature a DLC code  in addition to the pretty packaging. The code will unlock Historic UEFA Champions League Match Balls as seen in the real-life competition. The UK will also be party to a second special edition of the game, which will feature a steelbook with Manchester United club livery.

The cover star for this iteration of the PES franchise is the most expensive man to ever kick a small leather ball – Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football star who is currently signed to Real Madrid.  Below you can check out the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 packshots, and as with the images above, can click through for a larger look at the full cover.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD will not be re-balanced

Fans of the classic arcade fighting game JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, which is of course based upon the legendary manga of the same name, should know that the game wasn’t perfect. In fact, it was quite well known that the game suffered from some strength balancing issues. In particular with the character Pet Shop, the single most powerful character in the entire game.

The game’s director Ryota Niitsuma has confirmed on his official twitter that the HD version of the game which is set to be released tomorrow on XBLA and PSN will not re-balance the game and will leave it’s mechanics untouched. He revealed this funnily enough after being questioned about whether or not Pet Shop would be weakened in strength in the new version.

What do you think about no re-balancing in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure HD? Will you be spamming online with Pet Shop? Let us know in the comments section. You can also check out the mighty over-powered nature of Pet Shop in the video below.

Siren Visual license 4 new titles

Siren Visual have made a rather covert announcement of four new title acquisitions through their Facebook page this past week. Through several different Facebook posts Siren revealed the newly licensed anime series, but have not yet detailed their release plans for them. The following titles have been acquired by Siren:

  • Ayakashi: Samurai Horror Tales
  • Mawaru Penguindrum
  • The Book of Bantorra
  • Intrigue of the Bakumatsu

Siren have also posted an official announcement of these titles on their website which you can view here. What do you think of these new anime series being licensed by Siren Visual? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.

Com2uS and HitFox in Promo Deal

In case you were having any trouble finding games from Korean powerhouse developer, Com2uS, they’ve now joined forces with German app developer HitFox.

HitFox’s debut app, Game Finder, tests, filters and recommends games for its users, as well as offering them exclusive deals. Joining the ranks of Gameloft, Kabam and TinyCo, Com2uS’ sizeable catalogue of popular games will now be suggested by the Game Finder app to players looking for a great new iOS game to kill time.

At the moment, the Game Finder app is only available on the iOS store in Germany, but HitFox assures us that it’ll be rolled out to other regions soon.

Hotel Transylvania Due Out September 28th

When you hear about a movie getting the video game treatment, a sigh is usually the first response that is made. When WayForward happen to be doing the project, glee replaces the doubt and a solid experience is almost always a guarantee. Yes folks, the all mighty WayForward are preparing to launch their adaptation of Hotel Transylvania for the 3DS and DS soon with the help of GameMill, and this little romp is looking quite temping thus far.

Here is a brief synopsis on what players can expect:

Welcome to Hotel Transylvania, Dracula’s lavish five-stake resort, where monsters and their families can live it up, free to be the monsters they are — without humans to bother them. On one special weekend, Dracula has invited some of his best friends — Frankenstein and his wife, the Mummy, the Invisible Man, the Werewolf family, and more — to celebrate his beloved daughter Mavis’s 118th birthday. For Drac, catering to all of these legendary monsters is no problem — but everything could change for the overprotective dad when one ordinary guy stumbles on the hotel and takes a shine to Mavis.

Featuring a wide variety of locations, puzzles, and boss battles galore, the game creates an imaginative and fun way to interact with the movie characters.

Yeah, there is always doubt and cynicism when it comes to any licensed title, but my hype has began for Hotel Transylvania, as it looks to already have all the tools to become yet another gem from the makers of Shantae, Aliens: Infestation, and A Boy & His Blob. Hotel Transylvania is due out September 28th.
