Silent Hill: Book of Memories demo available in Europe tomorrow

Today it has been discovered that a demo for the Silent Hill: Book of Memories on the PlayStation Vita will be available for everyone who happens to have a European PlayStation Vita. Interestingly enough, North American Vita owners are currently in the dark as to whether or not the demo will be released on the US PS Store.

This is rather significant considering the fact that Sony will only allow one account per Vita, and unless gamers in North America have more than one memory card to work with, they will be unable to access the demo. This is quite a shame as demo access would probably go a long way in silencing all of the naysayers who hate the title over one trailer. We’ve reached out to Konami to see if they will clarify the issue, but until then gamers can look forward to Silent Hill: Book of Memories’ release date on October 16th.

Wargame takes to the Air and Land for Battle

Do you like war games? Then you’ll love Wargame! Probably.

The European war games are escalating, as Wargame: European Escalation gets some free DLC.

This third DLC pack, titled Commander, will add an extra game mode, Economy, which has players focus on managing their resources, judging whether to save their command points and advance their army against enemies, or spend them to defend their own territory.

The DLC pack also adds two new maps, providing mountainous regions where players can try out this new mode and the existing ones.

If free DLC is enticing but paying for a game with free DLC isn’t, you’re in luck! For the next few days, Steam is offering Wargame: European Escalation at 66% off.

But while escalating the European war game, are you finding there aren’t enough air-land battles? Well, you’re even more in luck! The next wargame, Wargame: AirLand Battle, probably features more air-land battles per war than your average war game!

Wondering what war game air-land battles look like? They’ve got that covered too: the first screenshots for the new Wargame, Wargame: AirLand Battle, have been released, and indeed show off some air-land battles. In a game. About war.

Just enjoy the pretty pictures.

Resident Evil 6 TGS Trailer Preps us for Madness

Resident Evil 6 is now just a week away from releasing, and is looking amazing from what we have seen thus far. Today, Capcom have released a new trailer shown behind closed doors at TGS, featuring a lot of the story from Jake, Chris, and Leon’s stories.

As you can expect, there is a lot to chew on with this clip, and it does a great job at getting us ready for the plot that will take place between these three characters. Check out the trailer below, and prepare yourself, as Resident Evil 6 launches on October 2nd.

So the PC specifications for the upcoming FarCry 3 video game published by Ubisoft have been announced recently; and from the looks of things, the lowest of settings are incredibly modest. Of course, the requirements for the game to run on the highest of settings are the complete opposite of that. You will need a fairly powerful machine to get the most out of this game.

Also released earlier today is the latest FarCry survival guide video. This will be embedded at the bottom of this article.

FIFA 13 Receiving Early Praise Ahead Of Launch

The next iteration of FIFA, FIFA 13, has already received early universal praise before the official launch in Australia and New Zealand this week. EA has been quite proud of the reviews coming in, they have decided to make a video about it. All I can say is congratulations on EA for the praise they are receiving. Awards that the game has received were also featured in this video.

Capsule Computers will be getting their hands on FIFA 13 this week with a review to come soon after. The Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita version will be put under the microscope, but early play does look positive for both the PS3 and Vita versions: Expect FIFA 13 in Australia on September 27 and in New Zealand on September 28.

Super Lemonade Factory Gets User-Designed Level Pack and a Free Weekend

Free Drinks! A phrase I, and I am sure many others, have come to love. But I must admit I’ve been somewhat misleading. What isn’t free is the drink, but rather the factory – Super Lemonade Factory to be precise. The indie platformer, which scored a fantastic 9 capsules out of 10, will be free this coming weekend.

Why you ask? It’s to celebrate the release of a huge update featuring user-generated levels. When the game was released in March of this year it came with the means to create levels. Following the tradition of some of Initial Games favourite games from their youth, the ability for player’s to join the staff on the factory floor was of utmost importance to the Sydney based indie devs.

Super Lemonade Factory will be updated as of Thursday 27th of September, and free for the weekend starting Friday 28th September. Click here to get your iOS copy, or here for the recently released PC/Mac Version. Check out the official website or follow Initial Games on twitter for more updates concerning Super Lemonade Factory and all other things Initial. Happy beverage carbonating to you all.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist’s fifth freedom detailed in latest trailer

Back in 1941, the President of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt gave a speech which would eventually be called the “Four Freedoms” speech. In this speech he listed four liberties that everyone in the world should hold as a birthright, such as the freedom of speech and worship as well as freedom from want and fear.

However there is also a fifth freedom that has been kept under wraps. This fifth freedom gives a person the ability to defend those four freedoms from any threat no matter what it takes. Those bearing the fifth liberty have the ability to do absolutely anything in the effort to further the greater good, even take human life at no cost. Only one man has been given the fifth freedom, and gamers will be playing as him in Splinter Cell: Blacklist. Check out the trailer below to learn more.

The Amazing Spider-Man swings in some New DLC

Today is yet another big day for everyone’s favorite web slinger, as The Amazing Spider-Man has launched in Australia digitally for 4800 MS points, or $59.99 on the Playstation 3. Of course that really isn’t the news, as Activision have now delivered some DLC for the game, expanding the experience of The Amazing Spider-Man with new content to keep you flying through the streets.

Chew on these details:

  • Rhino Challenge Pack– Take control of the massive, genetically engineered villain Rhino and rampage around Manhattan in an exclusive gameplay challenge of pure destruction!  As Rhino, players will be able to unleash his formidable powers to destroy anything and everything in his path in a timed event full of speed, combo streaks, and of course, a ton of things to break!  Downloadable on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 for 240 Microsoft Points and from the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 system for $2.99.
  • Oscorp Search & Destroy Pack – In The Amazing Spider-Man video game, Spider-Man has his own smartphone to help navigate around Manhattan, locate missions and challenges and fight crime.  With this pack, Spider-Man’s smartphone will feature two mini-games inspired by classic arcade fun.   Downloadable on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 for 240 Microsoft Points and from the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 system for $2.99.
  • Lizard Rampage Pack – The notorious Lizard is on the loose again in Manhattan!  Take on the role of Dr. Connors’ terrifying alter ego in a race against time.  Go berserk through the streets using his devastating stomp attack and tail swipe to defeat Oscorp guards and earn mega points.  Use his boost jump to bound great distances over the city.  Destroy blast towers to buy yourself more time and delay Oscorp from releasing their cross-species containment blast across the city!  This pack also includes the exclusive Vigilante Spider-Man Suit from the feature film, the suit Peter Parker dons to fight crime before developing his famous costume.  Downloadable on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 for 320 Microsoft Points and from the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 system for $3.99.
  • Stan Lee Adventure Pack – For the first time ever, fans will be able to play as…STAN…(wait for it)…LEE himself in The Amazing Spider-Man video game.  Players take on the role of Stan “The Man” Lee in his own special mission across Manhattan, borrowing abilities from his old pal Spider-Man as they collect pages of his latest script in a spectacular race around Manhattan.  Stan’s mission is punctuated with his witty banter that fans have come to know and love, and a special surprise waits for them at the end of the mission – after all, this year is Spider-Man’s 50th anniversary!  Downloadable on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for Xbox 360 for 320 Microsoft Points and from the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 system for $3.99.
  • The Amazing Spider-Man Bundle Pack – Finally, for the ultimate Spider-Man fan, all four content packs can be purchased together, available through the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 system for $9.99.

I honestly enjoyed my own time with The Amazing Spider-Man, and it’s nice to see the game still getting support. The best deal is of course the latter that includes all the DLC, but just knowing Stan Lee is now playable to all is enough to throw down a few digital bucks as it stands.
