Ubisoft CEO says Wii U is too expensive

Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft, has made some disparaging comments regarding the pricing of Nintendo’s upcoming Wii U console earlier today in which he said “I always prefer lower pricing, so I can’t say I’m happy.

Guillemot continued on saying, “I’m never happy when the machines are expensive. What we have to do there is remember that compared to an iPad, it’s cheap. With what it brings [to the gaming table] it’s cheap. But I hope they’ll be able to drop their price in time.

The console’s price contrary to Guillemot’s opinion actually was well received by the general public and critics alike. Oddly enough Ubisoft have more launch titles on the Wii U than any other company. So it is certainly strange for Guillemot to make such remarks. But take it as you will I suppose.

The console itself launches in under a week from now on the 18th of November. Will you be purchasing a Wii U? What do you think of the pricing? Let us know in the comments section below.

Darksiders 2 Wii U Trailer Retells the Tale

Death Lives. Yeah, most of you know the plot to Darksiders 2 and don’t need a recap, but Death’s journey for his brother’s redemption made of one engrossing plotline. Darksiders 2 will launch on the Wii U this Sunday (or November 30th for you Aussies), and those wanting a closer look at this version can look no further.

Today, a new trailer was released showing the Wii U version in action, and things look nearly the same. Due to the quality within Darksiders 2, that is a good thing however, and the Gamepad inventory system is looking like a light – but still effective extra touch. Check out the clip below.

Scribblenauts Unlimited Scribbles into Stores

One of the first Wii U titles has now hit shelves. Scribblenauts Unlimited, the next title from the fan favorite game of choice has released into the wild, letting all buyers of the console pick up their copy a little early. Those with a 3DS will also be pleased to know that they can also pick up the game today for the handheld Nintendo platform, which is ideal considering how large of a success Scribblenauts has been when it comes to handhelds. Steam users can also download the title on November 20th.

Both Wii U and PC versions include a new “Object Editor” feature that elevates the game’s creativity by giving players the same tools as the developer to make, name, and then share their creations online.  Players can create their own objects from scratch or customize any object in-game by setting properties for how it behaves, and can change its appearance by resizing, disassembling and altering its texture and color. The user-generated objects can then be shared with all players for use in their worlds too. Previously summoned objects and players’ own creations can be stored in Maxwell’s “magic backpack” for easy access and future use.

Along with the exclusive Nintendo characters this time around, I’d say this sequel is awfully tempting. Check out the new commercial below.
