MoH: Warfighter – Dev Diary For ‘The Hunt Map Pack’

EA has just released a developer diary video on the Medal of Honor: Warfighter/Zero Dark Thirty cross-over DLC, The Hunt Map Pack.

As we mentioned in a previous article, The Hunt Map Pack is known as the Zero Dark Thirty Map Pack in the U.S., named after the highly anticipated war drama film by Hurt Locker director, Kathryn Bigelow. The official synopsis for the film reads: “For a decade, an elite team of intelligence and military operatives, working in secret across the globe, devoted themselves to a single goal: to find and eliminate Osama bin Laden. Zero Dark Thirty reunites the Oscar winning team of director-producer Kathryn Bigelow and writer-producer Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker) for the story of history’s greatest manhunt for the world’s most dangerous man. See the new movie in theaters December 19th starring Chris Pratt, Jessica Chastain and Jennifer Ehle.”

The developer diary, which can be viewed below, features Danger Close art director, Chris Salazar, explaining how the team captured the look and layout of the Chitral Compound and Darra Gun Market, whilst also describing the maps alongside gameplay footage. Again, the video can be found below, and for all relevant Medal of Honor: Warfighter information, visit the official Medal of Honor website.

Merge Games bringing out indie Collectors Editions

Its always nice to see publishers such as Merge Games getting behind smaller indie developers, helping to promote their creative individual ideas and original IP rather than looking to cash in on mere sequels. The brainchild of ex THQ Asia Pacific employee Luke Keighran, the company has gained huge respect and knowledge of and within the areas it first launched its services, that being the Middle East, India, Nordic, Slovenia, Greece and Poland with their first project being the PR campaign for Stalker: Call of Pripyat in those regions.

As well as providing such diverse services as working on retail solutions for indie games and strengthening their global distribution network for PC and Android digital IP, they have secured partnerships with many leading indie game developers such as Edmund McMillen, Playdead, Mode 7 Games and Re-Logic to release physical collectors editions of such highly regarded games as Binding of Isaac, Limbo, Frozen Synapse and Terraria.

Each one of these very different and unique games will be made available as a collectors edition, complete with a massive array of bonuses and goodies such as DLC, extra characters, posters, stickers, soundtracks, art books and much much more. For more information on any of these titles please visit www.mergegames.com

Walking Dead Episode 4 Decisions Revealed

Telltale Games have nearly brought the first series of their Walking Dead games to an end, but before the fifth and final episode of Lee’s adventure is released, we have to find out just how awful (or not) the gaming population is. With every episode there are many choices to be made, and with every episode Telltale releases a rundown video that reveals the final statistics for each of those choices. Want to know if you were part of a merciful majority or just a member of that nutty/psycho 1%? Check out the video below to find out. It goes without saying that those who have not completed Episode 4 – Around Every Corner – should NOT watch the video below unless they have no aversion to spoilers of an enormous nature.

Episode 5 of the excellent series shouldn’t be far off now that this video has dropped, so keep an eye out for the conclusion of Lee’s tale…

DmC Devil May Cry – Vergil’s Downfall Launch Trailer

Earlier today we revealed that there was already some DLC on the way for soon-to-be-released game DmC Devil May Cry. Vergil’s Downfall is available for free for all those that pre-order from Gamestop (USA) and EB Games (Canada) before the game’s release on the 15th of January.

In this brand new trailer we get to see Vergil’s signature katana in action with entirely different combos and weapons to that of his twin-brother Dante. As opposed to Dante, Vergil has many magical attacks at his disposal, as well as large sweeping attacks for special effectiveness against groups of enemies. This particular DLC will show as stated, the downfall of Vergil to hell, possibly a mirror of his downfall at the end of Devil May Cry 3?

Regardless, with new weapons, new locations and all new gruesome and vicious enemies, Vergil’s Downfall is set for release sometime in early 2013; while the main game DmC Devil May Cry is set for release on January 15th of the same year.

Experience A ‘Little Amazon’ On The iOS

BulkyPix are releasing a new platformer for the iOS called Little Amazon, co-developed by Cazap and cTools – who previously developed Kung Fu Rabbit.

Sharing the same visual style as Kung Fu Rabbit, Little Amazon is a runner/platformer where you play as Lily, an inhabitant of the forest, in a quest to free it from the grasp of the malevolent Grûûl and his army. With The Fairy King suddenly incapacitated in a deep sleep, the forest has become unprotected and is in danger of having it’s life-force sucked out and absorbed by Grûûl. Lily will be assisted in her heroic and daunting task by magical creatures, and will also have a few magic-based powers at her disposal, which include “The Attack of the Clones” (nice Star Wars reference there), “Meteor Rain” and “The Flying Cloud”, all three of which can be seen, in action, in the gallery below.

By collecting coins, saving defenceless animals, completing mini-quests and winning trophies, you will earn new powers and abilities. Your Amazonian powers and jumping ability can also be upgraded in order to conquer new obstacles and progressively powerful enemy types. The universal app boasts HD graphics with Retina display and takes advantage of iCloud for your save game storage. It is also playable with Apple TV in 720p resolution.

Little Amazon will be released, FREE, on the app store, November 22nd. To view first screens of Little Amazon, click on our gallery below.

The Wii U is six days from launch, and with it will come Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed, giving fans of Sega a taste of nostalgia and speed. Recently, a new trailer was released, displaying the usage of the Wii U gamepad – which is rather interesting to say the least.

Of course the Gamepad will allow for players to take their game off the television, but those who are using it as a controller will be able to use the device as a steering wheel, while keeping a track of upcoming racers on the handy second screen. Check out the trailer below, and you can pick up Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed for the Wii U this Sunday.

Comic Market doujinshi event recieves threat letter, may be cancelled

This past weekend the biggest doujinshi event in the world Comic Market, posted on their website that they had recieved a threat letter and that they have reported this to police. Whether the event will be held though is completely up in the air. Comic Market, known more commonly as Comiket have not commented upon whether or not the letter will cause the event to be cancelled. The 86th Comiket event is scheduled for December 29-31, whether or not it will go ahead is anyone guess.

For those who have been following the Kuroko’s Basketball incident you may recall that threat letters had been sent to a number of Kuroko’s Basketball related events and locations. Comiket has not confirmed or denied that the letter is in relation to the Kuroko’s Basketball situation but one can presume that given the fact that over 900 Kuroko’s Basketball doujinshi circles will be present at the event, that this is indeed a related threat letter.

We will keep you up to date on the situation as it develops. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
