Drakengard 3 official website launched; high-res screens released

drakengard-3-high-res- (10)

Recently it was surprisingly revealed that Drakengard 3 is currently being developed by Access Games and will be published by Square Enix sometime in the future. However outside of some artwork and scans of a magazine, no one knew what to expect from the game.

That is until today when the game’s official website launched with some high resolution screens from the game. Now while the graphics from these screens look rather dismal, it is worth noting that the developers mentioned that the title is only 60% done at this point, so hopefully things will improve visually by the time the game is released.

Features of Alien Spidy include:

  • 69 Levels
  • Three settings (Forest, Pond, Caves)
  • More than 300 collectibles and achievements

Mugen Souls Z’s opening video released

mugen-souls-z-opening

Today the Mugen Souls Z opening sequence was revealed a full month before the game is set to be released in Japan. The opening video can be checked out below and as you can see, some things have changed since players last left Chou-Chou in the original Mugen Souls.

In this title, players follow the story of the Ultimate God Sylma who, after waking up from a long sleep, has set out to gather power from other gods in the universe. As you can see, she runs into Chou-Chou and a number of other new and returning characters, though Chou-Chou seems to have shrunk for some unknown reason. Anyways, Mugen Souls Z is set to be released in Japan on April 25th and currently there has been no mention as to whether or not this game will be released overseas.

Atelier Meruru Plus’ latest five minute trailer shows off costumes and gameplay

Meruru-Plus-swimsuit- (11)

Today a new video was released for Atelier Meruru Plus and this time around we have director Yoshito Okamura showing up for a countdown video for the game. The first video is five minutes long and goes over various aspects of the game as well as how players will have a number of costumes to switch between with this Vita version of the game.

He also mentions something we already knew, and that is the fact that if the player has Atelier Totori Plus save data on their Vita, then they will unlock various bonus items for Atelier Meruru Plus. Now, at the moment none of the Atelier Plus titles have been announced for Western release, however Atelier Totori Plus was rated in Australia so there is hope.

Puzzle games and portables go hand in hand, don’t they? Well, there is about to be yet another title for us to sink time into on the 3DS thanks to developer cerasus.media, and it goes by the name of Jewel Master Atlantis. Much like you would expect, this romp lets players rebuild the mysterious location through puzzles, with the classic match-3 styled gameplay we loved since Bejeweled made it’s debut.

Features include:
· 100 challenging levels and two game modes
· Exciting bonus features
· Collect trophies
· Match 3 adventure with completely new features

You can get a glimpse of the game for yourself through screenshots and even a nice little trailer down below, and know that Jewel Master Atlantis is now available in Europe for 4,99 € on Nintendo 3DS eShop. The US release will follow soon.

Nintendo Download: Mega Man 3, Monster Hunter 3, and More Launch on the eShop

mega-man-3-01

Capcom have been doing a great job as of late, delivering Mega Man in small doses to the eShop through classic titles. Today, fans have another reason to cheer as Mega Man 3 has made it’s portable debut – and of course can be purchased on the 3DS for the usual price of $4.99.

Those looking for something with an original premise are also in luck, as Forgotten Legions – a new RTS for the DSiWare and eShop has hit the service for $4.99. “Goony”, which looks to be a bit of a more intense Q-Bert styled adventure can also be purchased from the eShop at $1.99.

As far as demos go, Chasing Aurora can finally be tested out on the Wii U, while GameFreak’s HarmoKnight has a demo form this week landing on the 3DS. Full digital games entering the sphere this week include Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and The Croods: Prehistoric Party! for the 3DS and Wii U – which will launch on March 19th. Also coming out next week for the Wii U is Need for Speed Most Wanted, Lego City Undercover, and the classic Punch Out! Feat. Dr. Dream. Out now however is Rayman Origins and Reel Fishing 3D Paradise for the 3DS. Phew…stay with me here.

Wrapping things up, you can snag the delectable and equally puzzling Ketzal’s Corridors on sale this week for just $4.99.

So there you have it. A lot of full digital, a few new gems, and plenty of software such as Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate to look forward to over the coming week.

English Subtitles announced for Shinkai’s The Garden of Words BD/DVD

garden-of-words-01

In what is slowly becoming an increasing trend, the Japanese home video release of the latest anime film by Makoto Shinkai will include English subtitles. This was revealed on its official website, known as Kotonoha no Niwa in Japan, along with the extras, features and price of the release.

The Blu-ray version will cost 6,090 yen (AUD$62) and will contain the original soundtrack along with an extra 90 minutes of bonus features such as interviews with the director and cast, a lengthy feature on Shinkai’s unique filmography, a story board and the theatrical trailer. Buyers will also be treated to a 16-page booklet.

The DVD version will be priced at a much more attractive 3,360 yen (AUD$34) and comes in a slimmer package with the soundtrack, a short filmography feature and 30 minutes of extra footage containing the interviews and theatrical trailer.

The Garden of Words is one of Shinkai’s shorter films at just 46 minutes and hits Japanese theaters on May 31, with the home release confirmed for June 21.

Makoto Shinkai’s work has enjoyed widespread praise, with many referring to him as “the new Miyazaki”. His previous attempts include Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised in Our Early Days, 5cm Per Second and the recent Children Who Chase Lost Voices. All made the cut and were licensed in Australia over the years.

The Garden of Words joins Japan’s growing number of Blu-ray/DVD releases that include English subtitles, with titles such as Fate/Zero, Code Geass: Akito the Exiled and the upcoming Nanoha The Movie 2nd all containing what many consider a blessing.

European Version of Dragon Nest a Success

Dragon-Nest-Europe-Release

Dragon Nest, the free to play online action MMORPG developed by Eyedentity  games, has seen a huge amount of traffic on its servers since its European launch last week. The publisher eFusion, in response to this large amount of traffic have announced some events for the coming weekend.

Over 120,000 European players accessed the game since launch, and Dragon Nest seems set to continue its worldwide success over in Europe, also being available in Asia and North America. The dynamic action oriented game play and high quality graphics make this game unique and clearly defined from other RPG’s which currently saturate the market. Since its release in various countries worldwide, the game has attracted more than 200 million players overall and around 800,000 gamers playing at any one time.

eFusion have lined up some exciting events to keep players entertained. One being implemented is an ‘invite a friend’ event, which will reward players for getting their friends to join Dragon Nest, obviously hoping to capitalize on this initial launch success. The reward will then be based on the level that is eventually reached by an invited friend. Magic Jellies are one reward, and this is an item not even available in the current game, nor in the cash shop. And the top 10 of these inviters will receive a 1,000 DNP Extra Bonus as added incentive to get more people invited and playing.

Dragon Nest Europe will receive its first content update around Easter time. More details on this updated content, as well as any future events can be found here.
