Many of you may not have heard of Smooth McGroove, but those of you who have likely can’t get his tunes out of your head. If you’ve not become a fan yet, it will only take one listen to get its hooks into you.
Though he does other music as well, he’s becoming a well-beloved voice in the gaming community for the vocal covers he does of classic video game music while his cat, Charl, typically makes an appearance at some point.
Though he’s covered quite a few classic games already (Chrono Trigger, Mega Man X, and more), it was only a matter of time before the Sega Genesis‘ speedster mascot, Sonic the Hedgehog, made its way to our aural canals. That day is today.
For those of you itching to see what I’m talking about, be sure to click on the Youtube video below this article to check out Sonic 2’s Chemical Plant Zone theme song. I’m positive you’ll be pleased.
Smooth also has a nice, big catalog of titles he’s already done including the jammin’ Street Fighter 2 song, Guile’s Theme:
If you haven’t already done so, be sure to check out his official Youtube channel here, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.
Rumours have begun circulating that a PlayStation 3 remake of Tales of Symphonia is in the works under the title Tales of Symphonia: Perfect Edition. The supposed Perfect Edition will be a HD remake of both the original Tales of Symphonia game as well as its sequel Dawn of the New World.
Recently Spanish games website Koi-nya spoke with the Tales series producer Hideo Baba in which they asked him about the rumours. While Baba could not confirm the rumour, he did however say that it would be “a representation of the dreams and hopes of the fans who have long wanted it,” and that ‘something’ will be announced soon for those fans.
According to Koi-nya, Tales of Symphonia: Perfect Edition will be heading to North America and Europe along with Tales of Xillia 2. This would not be the first time a Tales Of game has been remade for the PlayStation 3, with Tales of Graces f being released last year.
At this point in time these rumours should be taken with a grain of salt until an official confirmation is made. Stay tuned as we keep you updated on this developing story.

After giving a better idea of what players can expect in the upcoming Dracula 4 with the trailer released last week, Anuman Interactive, under their Microids label, wants to show off another character. The great grandson of Dracula scribe Bram Stoker, Adam B. Stoker is the research assistant to Professor Vambrey, or rather “was” before the accident. While Adam will be aiding heroine Ellen Cross throughout the game, he doesn’t seem to have any shortage of secrets.
As Adam was working closely with Professor Vambrey, the newest screenshots released feature a few locations around the professor’s manor in the town of Whitby. Players can view the full sized screenshots by clicking on the images in the gallery below to see some of the late professor’s estate, as well as get a better look at Adam.
Dracula 4: The Shadow of the Dragon will be releasing this summer for PC, Mac, Android, and iOS devices.
2k Games Australia released a brand new trailer for the upcoming game The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The heavily redacted trailer shows off some in game footage for the upcoming shooter based in the XCOM universe and teases a bit of the game’s plot.

Agent Carter and his team have been deployed to investigate the signal. The game will be released on August 20th, 2013 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC via Steam. Those who pre-order will receive The Codebreakers bonus mission for free.
Known as Ace Attorney 5 in Japan, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies has been confirmed for Western localisation in North America and Europe (and we are hoping Australia) this Fall with an all new name. This release will follow the Japanese release slated for July. No announcements on price have been made.
Interestingly, this game won’t be appearing in Western retail stores and will be a download only title from the 3DS Nintendo e-Shop. A reason for this was provided by Capcom:
“Historically it’s been tough to attract long term retail support for Ace Attorney titles. With the release of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies we wanted as many people as possible to be able to enjoy the game for as long as possible. With that in mind we have opted for a digital only release via the Nintendo 3DS eShop.
We understand that this decision may upset fans who wanted to have a physical version of the title to add to their collection but we believe this direction is the best to take to ensure that fans are able to enjoy the game at their own leisure.”
More information on Dual Destinies was also revealed in Capcom’s press release:
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies, previously announced for the West as Ace Attorney™ 5, sees the return of courtroom hero Phoenix Wright. Set eight years since his last appearance in the courts, the first case in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies sees the action start in a destroyed court room. It’s down to Phoenix Wright and his team at the Wright Anything Agency to discover the cause of the destruction. Players will have to battle it out in court against Gaspen Payne, the younger brother of Winston Payne from previous Ace Attorney™ titles, as they defend the accused.
The much loved gameplay and features from previous titles in the Ace Attorney series return but for the first time with stunning 3D graphics, bringing the courtroom and characters to life and putting players directly in the heart of the action. Players will need to investigate each crime scene with dynamic 3D visuals, making it possible to change views and zoom-in on areas to uncover any hidden evidence or clues. The drama continues in the court room as players present their evidence, challenge witnesses and begin to unravel the truth behind each of the cases in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Dual Destinies.
Joining Phoenix is the young Attorney Apollo Justice and new Associate Attorney Athena Cykes. Athena’s unique ability to psychoanalyse witnesses introduces a brand new element to proceedings. Using Athena’s ‘Mood Matrix’ players can detect the emotional state of a witness and tell whether they’re surprised, angry, happy or sad. Players can compare these feelings with the statement given by the witness, point out any contradictions between the two and challenge the witness testimony.
If you would like to get further hyped for the game, an all new English trailer is available below for your viewing pleasure. We are currently running a promotion to win copies of the live action Ace Attorney movie on DVD. You can enter the competition by clicking here.
Debuting at the price of $9.99 Nemesys Team Studio’sFortix 2 will reach the low price of $1.99 starting tomorrow, there is a catch however as this great deal can currently only be found on the Steamnetwork but more outlets will be announced at a later time. And the price cut is not the only reason to be excited as Steam is celebrating the announcement on SteamGifts.com by giving away 2000 Steam of the original Fortix game to the lucky winners.
For those not in the know Fortix 2 has gamers controlling main character Sir Fortix as he tries to overcome the evil power that main antagonist Xitrof has spread through our heroes homeland. The gameplay is reminiscent of the game Qix combined with a strategic turret defense style game with some twists. The players must go through the various regions that have become overrun with evil and purge that area of enemies. The developers haven’t made a small game either as the title spans forty-five levels and four very different environments for the players to conquer and cleanse.
With the price cut taking effect the developers are expecting to open the title up to an even larger market of strategy fans than it had previous access too, and hopefully will make it easier for Nemesys to continue keeping the games coming.
In an unprecedented move, Polish developers CD Projekt RED released a user friendly version of the development tools used to create The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The tools were accidentally released four days ago for a short time.

Modders will be able to access dynamic day and night cycles, terrain creation tools, and character creation tools that helped build The Witcher 2.
Additionally, CD Projekt RED announced Philipp Weber is the winner of the very first Mod of the Month and the REDkit Mod contest. His mod Lykaon adds several hours of gameplay to The Witcher 2. REDkit and the mod can be found at the official REDkit website.
