In time for Halloween, Creative Assembly has released yet another DLC pack, Blood & Gore, for its strategy giant Total War: Rome II on Steam for AU$3.99 (US$2.99). It’s safe to say this make it the most violent RTS on the market. A trailer has been released which is viewable below.
Previously, Shogun 2 received a similar treatment with its own blood pack but it was subsequently removed from sale in Australia due to classification concerns.
Blood & Gore adds fittingly gruesome dismemberment, impalement, decapitations, sound effects and lots of red stuff to match the brutal warfare of the ancient world. With a more refined particle system than Shogun 2, this is being touted as grittier and visually nicer.

Last weekend was supposed to be the final Dark Souls II Beta, but after a hiccup with times and servers, players were unable to gain access until an hour later. With this in mind, Namco Bandai have graciously decided top reopen the doors to Lordran one final time.
The purposes of these betas has largely been to see if the game’s servers can handle the pressure of the amount of expected players. the Souls franchise offers a unique online experience that involves players leaving helpful (or harmful) messages on the ground, summoning other players to their aid in boss battles, or invading one another to see who is the best. All of this happens while playing the immense single-player experience, so it is vital that Namco has all the bugs ironed out by the time the game drops next year.
The final beta will take place on November 10th, 5:00pm – 8:00pm AEDT (Sydney time). So this is one final chance for players to gain access to the world of Dark Souls II before the game officially launches next March. In the mean time, check out our brief Hands-On with Dark Souls II, as well as a tonne of new screenshots of the game below. As always, stay tuned to Capsule Computers for all the Dark Souls news as it becomes available.

Basement Crawl will feature four classes, each utilizing a variety of unique bombs and power-ups, allowing players to mix and match strategy for each class.
Even the text is creepy
The game itself is said to feature:
An Engagingly Unnerving Style – a ghoulish but entertaining presentation inspired by classic grindhouse movies, twisted horror films and even other games, such as Manhunt.
Classic Gameplay with a Modern Twist – brings together the best gameplay elements of classic titles like Bomberman with modern technology and online features.
Multiplayer – players can battle to be the best against others either locally for up-to-four competitors or online for up-to-eight contenders.
An Awesome Party Game – easy-to-learn gameplay and a focus on multiplayer fun makes Basement Crawl the perfect house-party fragfest.
Classes and Characters – the game features four unpredictable and macabre characters, each representing a unique class, and each sporting special abilities and skills.
2.5D? – Basement Crawl is made with a 3D-engine, but presented in classic 2D, allowing players to control the position of the camera while enjoying dynamic lights and effects.
Arenas – nine uniquely hair-raising arenas are included for players to master and conquer, including the Slaughterhouse, Restaurant Dungeon, Abandoned Circus and more.
Online Features Include – Leaderboards for comparing highest scores with friends and other players; Party chat for PS4, Trophies, Invites, Ranks.
