Dead Rising 3 Gets Long Chunk Of Gameplay Footage

dead-rising-3-weapons-01

Capcom, the industry giants behind the upcoming Xbox One title Dead Rising 3, have released a gameplay video that gives you plenty of chances to see new protagonist Nick Ramos in action as he mows down, dismembers, crushes, and otherwise demolishes zombies. If The Walking Dead‘s cast had some of these goodies, the show would’ve felt more like Arnold Schwarzeneggar’s The Running Man than the dire situation they’re in.

The video, which you can see in the player below this article, shows off over 18 minutes of ways Nick takes out the undead. Sledge hammers, guns, and modified vehicles are just a few of the tools at his disposal.

For more information, you can check out the official age-gated site here. The game drops on November 22 right alongside the launch of the Xbox One.

Evangelion: 3.0 coming to North American Theaters in January 2014

evangelion-3.0-girl-pilots

Eleven Arts and Funimation have just announced that the third film in the Rebuild of Evangelion quadrilogy, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, will be screening at participating theaters in the U.S. and Canada this January 2014. The animated blockbuster earned over 5 billion yen or US$52m at the Japanese box offices.

Eleven Arts is also screening Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie – Rebellion in December and previously released Space Battleship Yamato in October.

While it’s said to be distributed mostly in English, a number of theaters will be screening the film in Japanese with English subtitles. Evangelion: 3.0 was screened in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year as part of Madman’s Reel Anime 2013 program.

Set 14 years after the events of Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, the film shows the earth in ruins with everyone changed except for Shinji Ikari who has no idea what has happened. Old friendships are now woven with distrust as Shinji is treated like a prisoner and the world spirals once again toward destruction.

Be sure to visit the official U.S. Facebook page for the movie and Eleven Arts for screening details as they’re made available.

PS4 Goes Viral for ACIV and Tech for Battlefield 4

PlayStation 4 is still going strong with the #4ThePlayers marketing and Sony has released two new videos about some other 4’s that will be coming out for the PS4. The first video to come out was an interesting viral video for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag. It looks like it wasn’t lost on the makers just how nice nicely dressed all the ancestors of the Assassin’s Creed series, depicting the newest protagonist as a tailor in the video embedded below.

While the first one is fairly clever, the second video is much more in depth on the tech of the PS4 and the other game, Battlefield 4. Featuring Creative Director Lars Gustavsson from DICE, it gives the low down on what they were able to achieve thanks to the additional hardware of both the console and controller. Those wanting to find out for themselves all about Battlefield 4‘s tech for the PS4 can watch it embedded below. The PlayStation 4 will be launching the end of this week November 15th, 2013 with both Assassin’s Creed IV and Battlefield 4 as launch titles.

Samurai Flamenco English Website Is Here

Samurai-Flamenco-Pic-01

One of the problems I find with official anime websites is the fact that most of them don’t come with English translations, this can cause difficulties for those who don’t speak or read any Japanese. Luckily this won’t be the case for Samurai Flamenco fans as there is an official anime website for all of its western viewers.

The English version of the website follows the same style as its Japanese counterpart with fully translated text, with nearly all sub categories featured western fans won’t feel like they are being left out. There are slight differences to both websites; the Japanese character section for example has all the characters in full colour whilst the English version only has the outlines. Specific categories are also inaccessible on the English website; both the Music and Books section have been shaded grey and unable to click on, whether or not they will be made available in the future is anyone’s guess.

Despite these set back, fans will be filled with joy when they click on the Specials and see all the paper board messages and cast comments fully translated. The cast comments feature the seven main voice actors/actresses giving their opinions about the series and what the fans would enjoy from it. The paper board messages section contains written messages and sketches from various members of staff, with my personal favourite coming from the Chief Producer (see below).

No it’s not THAT kind of anime, it’s about a superhero.

The anime was acquired by Aniplex and airs every Thursday through Crunchyroll, in Japan the series is running on the late night Noitamina programming block alongside Galilei Donna. Tell us what you think about Samurai Flamenco, and what other anime websites you would like to see translated, by leaving a comment down below.

Xbox One New Trailer and Commercials for Release Next Week

With the Xbox One set to release next week on Friday, Microsoft is putting out more commercials and trailers to show off some more of what the console has to offer. While these new videos don’t really offer anything new, they are much shorter and too the point. The first commercial Microsoft released features ex-NFL players Brian Urlacher and Ray Lewis having just upgraded to the Xbox One and conveniently using its Kinect voice features, which can be found just below.

The second commercial goes away from the celebrity star power and instead focuses on the average use as it shows off some of the other new voice Kinect features, but only as they pertain to multiple users, namely switching between between actively profiles. The second commercial is embedded just below.

Lastly, Microsoft has released a new trailer for the Xbox One about all the different apps that players will be able to on the new console. Though it is much more of an overview of the much longer All-in-One demo that was released last week. Those wanting to see the new trailer and check out the new features can find it embedded below. The Xbox One will release Friday November 22nd, 2013.

Trendy Entertainment Creates ‘Defense Council’; Select Community Members to Participate and Advise in Dungeon Defenders II Development

Trendy Entertainment Creates ‘Defense Council’; Select Community Members to Participate and Advise in Dungeon Defenders II Development

First 500 participants that raise $30 or more for Child’s Play get coveted Council seat

Gainesville, FL – November 11, 2013 – Trendy Entertainment today announced the formation of the “Defense Council” a new advisory council that will allow players with a vested interest in the development of the game to provide early, focused feedback directly to the development team.

“We will be involving the whole community in Dungeon Defenders II‘s development. Right now we’re taking our first steps toward that goal with the Defense Council,” explained Dave Loyd, Studio Director at Trendy Entertainment. “The Council is an opportunity for dedicated fans to play and provide feedback on the game in its earliest state. As time passes their responsibilities will grow, and we’re excited that their first act as Council members will be raising a large amount of money to improve the lives of children in hospitals around the world.”

Devised in conjunction with gaming industry charity funds Humble Bundle and Child’s Play, the initiative is designed to follow through on the company’s commitment to community engagement and interaction throughout the development process. Entry to the Defense Council will be granted starting today, November 11 at 6PM EST, to the first 500 participants that raise $30 or more via the Humble Bundle, with contributions donated to Child’s Play, a service delivering invaluable gaming experiences to hospitalized children worldwide. Trendy Entertainment will also open up more Council seats, including but not limited to auctions for 10 seats on eBay, with the resulting proceeds going directly to Child’s Play.

This project will offer participants the opportunity to influence the evolution of Dungeon Defenders II in an early and meaningful way. Defense Council members will have access to bi-weekly gameplay sessions, with frequent and significant opportunities to deliver feedback directly to the development team as select game systems, mechanics, heroes, maps and more are being created and tested. A dedicated developer blog will provide ongoing insight into behind-the-scenes decision-making. In addition, Council members will be forever immortalized in the game’s world as members of the Sunderguard, a faction in the storyline. Members will maintain their seats for the first term of the Council after the game launches, continuing to influence decisions that shape the war against the Old Ones’ invasion of Etheria.

In Dungeon Defenders II, the land of Etheria has been invaded by the Old Ones and players must rally, alone or with friends, against the invasion. The game features brand new combat and defense placement systems that synchronize the roleplaying, action, and tower defense elements of the franchise for even more strategic gameplay. New defense and ability interactions make for exciting, emergent gameplay and new environmental traps increase variety and strategic planning throughout each level in the game.

Humble Bundle will oversee the application/donation process, and the first 500 people to raise $30 or more for Child’s Play will gain seats on the first Defense Council. For more information, please visit www.DungeonDefenders2.com.

Dungeon Defenders II is currently in development for PC, Mac, and Linux, scheduled for soft launch as a free-to-play title next spring. For updates, visit www.dungeondefenders2.com, like the game on Facebook or follow Trendy Entertainment on Twitter.

See the Horrors of The Forest in New Trailer

The-Forest-Screen-01

Never have I simultaneously wanted to get lost in the forest, and be petrified of it at the same time. But that’s exactly how this new trailer for open world horror survival title The Forest makes me feel. Indie developer Endnight Games (formerly SKS Games) have been hard at work developing the PC game – and its Oculus Rift integration – with hopes to release the alpha by year’s end.

In The Forest, players can explore a living, breathing world with rolling tides, plants that live and die, changing weather patterns, a day and night cycle, underground caverns, lakes and more. During the day, it is wise to scavenge, build shelter, lay traps and do whatever else may prepare you for the mutant onslaught of the night. Crude weapons can be constructed from raw materials such as sticks and stones and seeds can be planted in order to grow food. Check out the gameplay reveal trailer from back in May directly below. And at the very bottom of the article we have embedded the brand new trailer.
