Interview with Killer Instinct, Wolfenstein: The New Order Composer Mick Gordon

UUULLTRRAAAAAAAAA COOOOOOMMBBBOOOOOO! Yes, I’ve used that half to death… actually most would argue I’ve bludgeoned it to a pulp. But this has been 17 years in the making! Killer Instinct is finally only a week away from release, and today I got to interview the extremely generous and talented fellow Aussie, Mick Gordon, composer for not only the Xbox One fighter, but the next Wolfenstein: The New Order and a fantastic-looking horror-exploration title called Routine, developed by indie team Lunar Software. After his stellar PAX Australia panel, we just had to talk to him further.

It’s a long interview at over 90 minutes, as we covered the musical design and production processes behind all three games’ soundtracks and scores, although we notably go in-depth on every revealed Killer Instinct character’s theme. We also touch upon the possibility of a new Killer Cuts album release, how Mick failed miserably at his first attempt to impress Double Helix and more. For those of you who want to specifically hear the Wolfenstein: The New Order part, jump ahead to around the 74 min 37 second mark. Senran Kagura Burst available for download in North America

Six months ago gamers in North America thought that the chances of a Senran Kagura game being localized for release in the West were slim to none, but they kept hope alive and now all that waiting has paid off. Today Senran Kagura Burst is available for purchase from the 3DS eShop in North America courtesy of XSEED Games.

The game costs $29.99 and takes up a fair bit of space on the SD card, so an upgraded SD card may be needed to download the title. To commemorate the game’s launch XSEED has released a new trailer for the game, which can be found below, focusing on Hebijo Academy’s side of the story.

Nobuo Uematsu’s Blik-0 1946 book now available on iOS

If you’ve been looking for an interesting and unique sounding book from a Japanese author to read then you may just be in luck. Today acttil has published Nobuo Uematsu’s Blik-0 1946 onto the iOS store which means that anyone with an iOS device can now purchase the book here.

It is worth noting that there were problems with the initial release of the iPhone version which did not include the music meant to come with the book. This has been rectified and anyone downloaded the initial release can follow the following steps:

AquaPazza’s costume color combinations previewed

In case you’ve been living under a rock or don’t find anime fighting games to your liking, you may have noticed that Atlus USA‘s localization of AquaPazza is set to be released next week and after giving us a look at all of the characters and partners that are available for use in the game, the company has released some preview images of the color combinations players can choose to fight with.

Every character in the game, including the partners who fight with you, have different palette swaps and this means that although players can simply enter fights with the character’s wearing their original colors, they can also co-ordinate their outfits to defeat enemies with style. Check out some of the color combos below and keep an eye out for AquaPazza next week.

TowerFall: Ascension announced for the PlayStation 4

Remember how that one crowd funded console came out earlier this year and despite being one of the highest funded projects on Kickstarter people found that it was pretty much trash? Well the only game that ever made people think it was worthwhile is now moving to the PlayStation 4.

It has been revealed by Sony that TowerFall: Ascension is going to be released on the PS4 early next year and it will include a bunch of new content for its release. The game will feature fifty new versus levels, four more playable archers, a co-op quest mode, and six bonus power-ups. Check out the game’s trailer below.

A week has gone past us already, and it is time for the awesome folks over at Disney to shower us with free Disney Infinity maps in this week’s Toy Box Challenge. As with previous weeks, there are five free maps for Disney Infinity owners to download, as well as a new Toy Box Submission Challenge, and a video that showcases the winners of the previous challenge. Without further adieu, lets get into it!

TOY BOX SUBMISSION CHALLENGE

This week’s Toy Box Submission challenge will be a tricky one. The theme for this week is DuckTales. Life is like a hurricane here in Duckberg, so make sure to build the ultimate Race cars, lasers and aero-planes to make the ultimate Duck-Blur. Will you solve the ultimate mystery or re-write Disney Infinity history.

As always, you can create and share your Toy Box creations though, using these instructions:

Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U

Bring up the Pause Menu and select “Online/Multiplayer.”
Then select “Toy Box Share” > “Disney’s Toy Boxes” > “Submit to Disney.”
Follow the prompts. You’ll be asked to give your Toy Box an original name and description. Choose carefully – they will be shown to everybody if your Toy Box is featured.

2+1 Games LLC have launched a new Kickstarter campaign for Prime Alien Watch Squad (P.A.W.S.), an adorable free-to-play, casual indie and strategy game planned for iOS, Android and PC.

P.A.W.S follows a highly trained squad with special abilities; Spiffy the Tiger (fast, strong and resilient), Dusty the Bear (healer), Tycho the Tortoise (spin area attack) and Bobi Sue the Squirrel (hurl projectiles), as they embark on a time-travel mission to conquer the alien invasion on Earth. Featuring an elegant design of 2D cartoony graphics and hand-drawn cel-animation, Prime Alien Watch Squad draws players into turn-based battles on a hex grid within different historical periods; including the Great Pyramid, the Eiffel Tower and the Statue of Liberty. The simplistic unit strength number gameplay adds to replayability; each stage containing more than 40,000 arrangements for players to move and attack the enemy.

24 hours after teasing us with a teaser poster and two mere 6-second clips, Paramount Pictures Australia have released the official trailer for Darren Aronofsky’s NOAH, starring Russell Crowe, Jennifer Connelly, Emma Watson & Anthony Hopkins.

You can check out the action and drama-filled trailer embedded at the bottom of the article. We all know the biblical tale of Noah and the Ark, and with it making its way to the silver screen in our modern era of cinema, its clear that the story will be represented in a very visually arresting way.

The Great Flood will hit our shores on March 27, 2014. And we’ve got a fellow Australian to save us! Aussie, Aussie, Aussie! Oi, oi, oi!… Oh, he’s a Kiwi?… can Noah fail in this retelling?
