MONGIL: STAR DIVE DROPS VERSION 1.3 UPDATE WITH NEW 5-STAR CHARACTER BRISSHELL

LOS ANGELES – AUGUST 19, 2026 – Netmarble, a leading developer and publisher of high-quality games, announced the Version 1.3 update for its monster-taming action RPG MONGIL: STAR DIVE, featuring the new 5-star character Brisshell, a new Costume system, and various quality-of-life improvements.

Brisshell is a powerful Earth-element Assassin who comes from the Void. Despite wanting to befriend humans, she is a shy individual who tends to run away when approached. Brisshell fights alongside her friend Alfred in battle, while harnessing otherworldly powers to attack enemies. She becomes particularly powerful while in the “Attention Overload” state that allows her to unleash even stronger attacks.

To celebrate the arrival of Brisshell, the special event “The Girl from the Void” will be available for three weeks. Players can complete missions and event dungeons to collect event currency and earn various rewards, including Summon Tickets and character growth materials. A new Epic Quest, “A Visitor from Afar” that gives players an opportunity to discover more of Brisshell’s story, has also been added.

Version 1.3 also introduces the new Costume system, offering players new ways to enjoy the unique appeal of each character, and two summer-themed costumes for Ophelia and Jiwon are now available.. In addition, “Guide Rewards” for new players has been revamped, alongside several quality-of-life improvements based on player feedback, such as instant Request reward collection, the addition of Quick Battle to the Dimensional Rift mode, and enhanced benefits for “Oath of the Morning Star.”

MONGIL: STAR DIVE is the official successor to the beloved mobile RPG Monster Taming, which helped popularize the mobile collectible RPG genre after its original launch in 2013. Built with Unreal Engine 5, the game features cinematic storytelling, high-quality character presentation, a monster collecting system centered on capturing, collecting and combining monsters, and dynamic real-time tag-based combat with three-character parties.

More information about the latest update and MONGIL: STAR DIVE can be found on the game’s official website and forum.

The HELLCARD II Playtest Is Live — Descend Into the Paper Dungeons Solo or in Four-Player Co-op

Thing Trunk and Skystone Games open the co-op roguelike deckbuilder’s Steam Playtest to players everywhere — request access now on Steam. PC only.

SAN FRANCISCO — August 19, 2026 — Skystone Games and developer Thing Trunk today opened the HELLCARD II Steam Playtest to the public. Starting now, players can request access on Steam to jump into the cooperative roguelike deckbuilder ahead of its upcoming launch — solo or with a team of up to four.

How to join

The playtest is available now on PC via Steam. To take part, visit the HELLCARD II Steam page and request access to the Steam Playtest. Participants are admitted in waves, and once you’re in you can invite friends to join your party.

About the game

HELLCARD II is a cooperative roguelike deckbuilder for one to four players, set in the paper-dungeon world of HELLCARD and Book of Demons and expanded with new biomes and storylines. Descend on your own or with friends into fast, tactical card battles against hordes of evil — and dragons. Lots of dragons.

What’s new in HELLCARD II

  • Gear that isn’t just for show — a new persistent equipment layer sits on top of the deckbuilding. Unlock gear that reshapes your hero’s look while changing your deck, stats, and buffs, so you can play your way from the very start.
  • Position is everything — HELLCARD II’s signature twist is that enemy placement matters. Monsters sit at melee or ranged distances and are split among your heroes. Positioning is crucial for landing the biggest combos.
  • Solo or four-player co-op — co-op with up to four heroes against the dragon threat, or play solo and command the entire party yourself: a lone wolf with the power of a full team.
  • A story that unfolds as you play — every run is a different tale, with variations both subtle and striking. Gear up, rally your friends, and defend the realm to uncover the truth behind the dragon menace.

Quotes

“HELLCARD struck a chord with deckbuilder fans, and HELLCARD II ups the ante on it all – visuals, storytelling, combat, RPG elements. We can’t wait for players to get their hands on the playtest and help shape the game ahead of launch,” said David Brevik, Skystone Games.

“Games exist to be fun, which is why we’re thrilled to launch this large beta playtest. We rely on the community’s feedback to show us what we got right, and what still needs some love,” said Konstanty Kalicki, Thing Trunk.

Playtest details

  • Platform: PC (Steam) only
  • Access: Request the Steam Playtest on the HELLCARD II store page; players admitted in waves, with invite-a-friend support
  • Price: Free to participate
  • Modes: Single-player and online co-op for up to four players

SUBNAUTICA 2 EXPANDS CO-OP IN SECOND EARLY ACCESS UPDATE

New proximity voice chat, revive system and teamwork improvements strengthen cooperative play, while Unknown Worlds donates USD 100,000 to The Ocean Cleanup

EL SEGUNDO, CALIF. – AUGUST 18, 2026 – Unknown Worlds has rolled out the second Early Access update for its Open World Survival Craft game, Subnautica 2, introducing new features designed to strengthen communication and teamwork in co-op. Alongside the update, the studio announced a USD 100,000 donation to ocean cleanup non-profit The Ocean Cleanup.

This update focuses on strengthening the cooperative play experience, with new systems for how players communicate and support one another underwater.

Proximity Voice Chat
Proximity voice chat is the centerpiece of the update, applying distance-based spatial audio to player communication. Nearby teammates sound louder and more directional, while voices fade naturally as players drift apart.

New Revive System
A new revive system has also been added. When a player’s health is depleted, they enter a downed state instead of dying immediately and can continue exploring if a teammate revives them within a limited window. The change raises the tension of deep-sea survival while making cooperation more meaningful.

Communication and Teamwork Improvements
Communication and teamwork have improved in other ways as well. An emote system lets players signal one another without voice, and players can now access a teammate’s inventory directly to hand over resources. Other improvements have been applied across cooperative play, including throwable location tags, the signal system, and base-building convenience.

Supporting Ocean Conservation
The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization that develops and scales technologies to remove plastic pollution from the world’s oceans. Unknown Worlds previously donated a portion of proceeds from the original Subnautica to The Ocean Cleanup on World Environment Day in 2019, and has continued to support ocean conservation efforts since.

Subnautica began with a love for the ocean, and it means a great deal to continue the conservation work we started with the original game through this donation to The Ocean Cleanup,” said Fernando Melo, Executive Producer at Unknown Worlds. “We will keep doing our part to protect the ocean we have spent so long bringing to life.”

Subnautica 2 is available now on Steam, Xbox (Series X|S consoles and PC), and the Epic Games Store. Players can learn more by visiting the official Subnautica website.

If Checkers, American football and Ted Lasso had a baby

London, 19 August 2026 – It’s checkers, but not as you know it! SFTP – Super Football Tactics Pro launches on Steam today from 17:00 BST / 09:00 PT / 12:00 ET!

Here is how the game plan breaks down.

FIRST QUARTER: standard checkers rules apply

Diagonal moves. Forced jumps (tackles in this game). Kings. If you learned checkers on a kitchen table at seven years old, you already know how to play half of this.

SECOND QUARTER: except it is an American football league

You’re either playing attack or defense. If the former, you’re trying to get the ball to the other end of the board, but you only get one forward pass per game. If your ball carrier gets tackled, it’s game over!

If you’re defending, you need to capture the ball carrier. Or just take out the entire team…your choice.

THIRD QUARTER: and some teams brought special powers

Match-flipping abilities that turn a losing board into a winning one in a single turn. Charge through story mode to unlock new special abilities as you climb your way up the leagues.

FOURTH QUARTER: play through a Story that reads like Ted Lasso flipped on its head, jump into quick games in Arcade mode, or pits your skills against other humans in Online multiplayer!

  • Story mode: three leagues, the division’s most unhinged coaches, and a final boss match at the end of it.
  • Arcade mode: quick matches against three AI difficulty levels, or a friend on the same PC
  • Online multiplayer: public lobbies for the tacticians of the world, private ones for the people who already owe you a rematch.

You don’t need to know anything about American Football. You don’t really need to know how to play checkers…SFTP has a very robust tutorial! But if you like the idea of a quirky turn-based strategy game that’s easy to learn and challenging to master, then definitely give SFTP a look!

SFTP – Super Football Tactics Pro will be available on Steam for $7.99 / £6.99 / €7.99 with a 20% launch discount for two weeks!

Skillprint Launches the Signal Benchmark, the First AI Benchmark Grounded in Real Human Performance

Built on six years of gameplay and cognitive-science research involving more than 500,000 players, Signal evaluates how well AI models move real players toward a target mental state, and the scarce human-outcome signal behind it.

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – August 19, 2026 – Skillprint today launched the beta for Skillprint Signal Benchmark, the first public benchmark that scores how effectively AI models can enhance real human performance. Existing benchmarks measure what a model knows, how accurately it answers questions or how well it performs a fixed task. Signal measures something no one else does: how well a model adapts a live game, in real time, to move a real person toward a target mental state, such as greater focus, relaxation or improvement in a cognitive skill.

Signal places AI models inside live gameplay experiences with real participants. As someone plays, the model can adjust parameters of the game in real time toward a defined human outcome, such as greater focus or relaxation. Signal then measures the resulting change in the player’s state and ranks models based on how effectively they achieve that outcome.

Signal is built on six years of Skillprint research spanning more than 500,000 players and a library of more than 1,000 games, quizzes and simulations designed to understand relationships between gameplay, cognition, mood and player state.

The launch marks a new phase for Skillprint, which has spent six years building a gameplay-powered intelligence platform around a central belief: AI should augment human capability, not replace it.

“Most AI benchmarks tell you how smart a model is on its own. Based on our years of decoding human cognition at scale, we’ve built the one that tells you whether it can actually help a human being and enhance their performance and intelligence. As AI becomes part of everyday life, we think that is one of the measures that will matter most,” said Chethan Ramachandran, Co-founder and CEO of Skillprint.

Measuring AI Through Live Human Interaction
Signal runs on genuine gameplay. During each session, an AI model receives information about the game and player behavior and adjusts game parameters in real time. Signal measures whether those interventions move the player toward a defined target state.

At launch, Signal runs on two instrumented games, Hextris and Box Tower, across target states including Relax and Focus. Skillprint is evaluating a growing roster of frontier and open-weight models, with results published to a public leaderboard as sufficient session data becomes available.

No single model currently performs best across every measured human outcome.
Rather than testing whether a model can produce a predetermined correct answer, Signal evaluates how models use visual input, memory and real-time gameplay information to respond as a person’s behavior changes. Over time, Skillprint plans to expand Signal beyond states such as Focus and Relaxation to evaluate whether AI systems can help people strengthen specific cognitive skills.

Because each evaluation is generated through a live human interaction rather than a fixed test set, Signal is designed to be more resistant to contamination, memorization and benchmark saturation. Every result reflects a new gameplay session and the interaction between a model, a game and a real person.

From Game Performance to Human Performance
Skillprint began developing its cognitive-science and gameplay foundation in 2020. Since then, the company has built a library of more than 1,000 games, quizzes and simulations, mapped more than 150 game mechanics to human behavior, and developed a framework spanning cognitive skills, moods and personality traits.

More than 500,000 people have played experiences used to train and refine Skillprint’s models. Each session helps the platform better understand how gameplay relates to the way people reason, adapt, learn and respond to changing conditions.

Signal builds on that foundation by making the human outcome itself part of AI evaluation. It’s built on live, consented, pseudonymous gameplay sessions. It is the closest available read of how a model changes real human behavior in the moment, and it cannot be scraped. Skillprint does not collect personally identifiable information. The platform analyzes gameplay behavior and produces structured signals related to cognitive performance and player state.

“We have spent years studying what gameplay can tell us about cognition and player state,” said George Kachergis, Cognitive Scientist at Skillprint. “Signal reverses that question. Instead of only asking what a person’s gameplay tells us about the person, we can ask what happens to that person when an AI system begins adapting the experience around them.”

Availability
Skillprint Signal Benchmark is available in beta today, with early results published as the leaderboard fills. AI teams and researchers that want early access to results and to the underlying human-outcome data can join the waitlist at https://skillprint.co/benchmark#waitlist.

Skillprint will continue to drive human-AI collaboration, helping AI Labs train models with unique data to work more effectively alongside humans to achieve their goals.

About Skillprint
Skillprint is a human-performance intelligence company using gameplay to understand and enhance how people think, feel and perform. Since 2020, Skillprint has combined cognitive science, game mechanics and AI to translate real gameplay into measurable human-performance signals. Skillprint’s mission is to help build a future where AI augments human capability. Learn more at skillprint.co.

Go-Go Town! Sells Over 100k Copies in a Month Since Release | New Content Incoming as a “Massive Thanks!” to the Players

Brisbane, Australia [19th of August 2026] – Prideful Sloth, the creators of the chart-topping chaotic city builder Go-Go Town!, have just announced that their game sold over 100,000 copies in one month since its July 16th release. The game topped the Steam New Releases chart, as well as taking #1 and #2 spots on the Nintendo Switch Japanese, UK, and US sales charts. To celebrate the success, the devs have announced a slew of new additional content that’s coming to Go-Go Town!.

Apart from the already promised and in-the-works post-launch content from the published roadmap, the team will also add an all-new set of Industrial and Rustic decoration assets, which include new arches, barriers, lamp posts, a brand new Vehicle Stall, a Gas Pump, Hay Bales, and much more. The game will also add six new languages – Polish, Turkish, Russian, Italian, Dutch, and Indonesian.

Cheryl Vance, the game’s Creative Director, said, “Seeing our game succeed at a time when the industry is going through such a challenging period makes us feel incredibly grateful. We’re very aware of how fortunate we are to be in this position. With the support of our amazing Early Access community, who spent two years with us making Go-Go Town! the game that it is, we were able to successfully launch V1.0 on PC and on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 and welcome in a new cohort of Mayors who are experiencing what we built with our community, for the first time.”

That kind of support, and the success it has brought, means we can keep working on Go-Go Town! while remaining independent and looking ahead to what we might create next. We feel incredibly lucky to be heading into 2027 with such a fantastic community behind us. So, as always, thank you to everyone who has given Go-Go Town! so much love.
