Shadow of the Road: Release postponed to March 10th, 2027

Tactical RPG set in 19th century Japan needs more polishing

Nicosia, Cyprus, October 9th, 2026 — Today, developers Another Angle Games and publisher Owlcat Games announced that the release date of the upcoming tactical RPG Shadow of the Road has to be moved from this November to March 10th, 2027. This extra time will let the developers address remaining issues and give the whole experience the polish it deserves.

The team will refine the tactical aspect of the encounters and fine-tune combat balance. It is of great importance that the positioning, initiative and ability choices all play their part in every battle and that every encounter rewards thoughtful planning and provides players with meaningful decisions to make. The developers are also hard at work on the progression systems in order to make developing the party more engaging: The goal is to give players more reasons to experiment with different skills and adapt their tactics to the challenges.

During this longer period of waiting, fans of Shadow of the Road can look forward to more trailers and insights into the game world soon.
